Fascinating performance of Bjarnason's Violin Concerto, which the composer and orchestra have also recorded with Pekka Kuusisto as soloist. Clearly, we are locked into the world of Icelanders, which is characterized by an impressive palette of raw nature and human fervor - from violent volcanic eruptions and fighting drifts to loving warmth. Thanks for that!
I get it. I really do. Did I enjoy it MMMMMMmmmm not on the first listening but i found it intriguing and unnerving, it's a brilliant brave work which is Icelandic in its sound..... it paints an amazing landscape.. however.. is it an important,, work that

Disturbing, unrelaxing, harsh, scratchy….not my kind of violin concerto. 4 minutes in and I’m climbing the walls. Sorry.

@@Whatismusic123 Lame riposte. My taste in music is broad, and while I love Beethoven etc, I get 20th and 21st century classical music. What I don't do is visit sites with music that's not to my taste and post comments trying to sh*t on what other people like. Talk about disgusting!

There is nothing to understand in modern music. You just have to deluse yourself to enjoy it and "understand" it.

So when you piss on it, you're essentially like the bully in high school who trips the nerd. He gets lots of laughs, but that's not validation, it's low hanging fruit. Just curious--are there other niche pleasures people have that you try to police? Herd everyone back to the mainstream, sure, because Spider Man XXXI has to be a better movie than the little Indie film, since so many more people see it. Don't worry WIM, you're safe with the many.
