- After 7 years of homesteading on our property, we are finally tending to the 100-year-old farmhouse! The shutters need to be painted, the siding power washed, and the old sleeping porch upstairs overhauled to get rid of the ancient deterioration!

Looking good! Very satisfying to see it coming clean, bricks especially. Are you going to paint the house too? It looks good though. We own a commercial paint contracting business. We often have to power wash buildings prior to painting. I also power wash our brick home twice a year. Get a pump up sprayer and mix a solution of bleach and water, 2 parts water, 1 part bleach, and spray on the wood, blocks, etc. Wait a few minutes before power washing. Not only will it kill the mold/algae/mildew, it will brighten the white paint as well. To clean the windows, spray with a water hose. Mix a solution of 2 gallons warm water, 4T Jet Dry and 8T Dawn. Using a mop or long pole with pad to dip into solution, scrub window and immediately rinse with water hose. Walk away! The windows will dry spotless clean. The farmhouse is looking great!!!! We just had our doors/shutters all painted black and will have a new black roof installed in two weeks. It is great to clean and improve our homes isn't it!?

LOVE IT!!!!! I love power washing!!!! It's so satisfying. Looks GREAT!!! The shutters will look fantastic up against the white. I LOVE Menards!!!! I get kidded alot, cause it's my favorite store! My girly friends ( that I quilt with) Think I'm a bit nuts because of my love of Menards LOL. Now we live a 100 miles away from one and I miss it!!!!! I have to have a Green Bay run once a month just for Menards and Popeyes :)

When our weather here in Kentucky fairs up my husband and I are going to preasure washer our garage for a paint job we need to do it is so satisfying...😊
Pressure washing the house is still an annual event at our house. My wife does not like dust on the house.

Amazing how things don't look so dirty until they are cleaned. I'm pretty sure I would have said, no shutters looks just fine! You guys rock for sure!!!
🇦🇺What’s next on the list to clean up or paint? The red barn looks a little faded. If you like painting, you could make a mural on a side of the barn. Just an idea.
Barn is on the list... We will have to see! I'm sure Marie could do some cool barn art on it 😁
