Goreme Cappadocia, Turkey | My Trip to Turkey- Part 2

Our 1st stop at Turkey was Alacati. Moving onto our next stop which is Goreme Cappadocia.
Day 4-
We took flight from Izmir to Nevsehir to reach Cappadocia. We had booked this ahead of time at Turkish Airlines website. To reach Izmir airport we took bus from Alacati. Early morning Gaia arranged us a taxi to reach bus station. From there we took Havas bus to Izmir airport. Very comfortable ride and very economical.
At Goreme Cappadocia, our stay was at Arch Palace. They had booked shuttle pickup (shared) for us to reach from Nevsehir Airport to Goreme. Shuttle dropped us right infront of Arch Palace.
After check-in and relaxing a bit, in the evening we enjoyed the little walk around the town. It was cold, windy and bit rainy. We ended the day with dinner at an Indian restaurant Delhi Darbar.
Taxi from Gaia Alacati to Havas Bus Station- 90 TRY
Havas Bus Ticket from Alacati to Izmir airport- 285 TRY per person
Shared shuttle from Nevsehir Airport to Arch Palace Goreme- 425 TRY per person
Day 5-
Full day today to explore Goreme. Last night we had checked about hot air balloon ride, but we were told due to weather it did not happen for couple of days and it is uncertain today as well. And even if it happens, it will be too crowded and will be costing higher than the usual. So we did not book the ride.
When we were having breakfast at the Arch Palace rooftop restaurant, we saw hot air balloons started their rides. We enjoyed the view along with an awesome breakfast buffet that was offered by the hotel. These balloon rides happen only in the morning for a short period of time.
Then all day we explored by walk. The whole region is full of Pyramid and cone shaped rocks, called Fairy Chimneys. These are formed by volcanic erruptions millions of years ago. We did not take any specific tours offered by different companies, just as much we could see around by walk. We did some shopping too. There are lot of shops for handmade carpets and rugs, pottery and ceramic items.
Today our lunch was at Cappadocia Kitchen and dinner at India Gate.
That's it for Cappadocia. So happy to be able to visit this region and enjoy the unique landscape nowhere else found on earth!
