The desire not to hold old people accountable is incredibly weird. Reminds me of that one American serial killer who only got caught when he was elderly and some people thought he shouldn't pay for his crimes because...he's old I guess.
"over time factor": a form of bias. If something happened a long time ago and the perpetrators are not immediately addressed of their crimes, then over time it starts to matter less.
I just don't understand how some people honestly think that just because someone is old, means they're now this sweet elderly grandpa\grandma who's past life matter anymore. If they did something awful in the past, they need to take accountability! Being elderly isn't an excuse, they're human beings like everyone else!
The guy who was discovered in Australia, right? I hated that people wanted him to be left alone. His victims didn’t get that same privilege, why should he?
I was molested 34 years ago. I still deal with the aftereffects of it. I will continue to deal with the after effects of it until the day I die. My abuser barely got any consequences and until his dying day maintained he didn't do anything wrong. You don't get over not just what they did, but getting zero consequences. You feel like you don't matter. So yes, the guy, regardless of his age or how long ago it was, still should face consequences, especially since he seems not to have any remorse. I guarantee his victims still deal with the consequences. And I guarantee there were more victims after he got off on a technicality, too.
This comment should be pinned here for all mentally unhinged keyboard warriors. Crimes like that are not stealing a candy from a store. This is ruining life for a person who did not even had the chance to experience it properly. They are ruining childhoods, and adulthood as well because this creates long lasting and deep issues. But I guess if you are a grandpa you are allowed to be an asshole and a PDFile.
Let's not forget Albert Flick, a man found guilty of murder who was released by a judge because he deemed him 'too old' to cause any more trouble, only for him to then kill another person. Completely avoidable situation.

“Respect your elders no matter what” Why should I? I’ve never understood that, I only show respect when respect is given. Respect isn’t given, it’s earned.
I personally hold greater resentment against that phrase because it was one that was drilled into me since childhood. It's worse that the culture i'm from and a lot of Asian cultures (at least for mine and some i know of) promote that sort of unconditional respect for elders regardless of whether they're terrible people. It was that thinking that made me put up with a guy who groomed and groped me in my own home for several years since i was 8 and i didn't speak up to anyone for a long time since he was an elder, and so i respected him and believed his actions were done out of goodness regardless of how i felt. It took me awhile to break from that mindset and acknowledge what happened, but thinking back on it really does frustrate me to no end, and that phrase just makes me livid. A lot of cultures still perpetuate this. Even now i'm still told to respect them, and to that i say bullshit. You don't and shouldn't get extra brownie points for managing to live longer than others, old people can still do shitty things just like younger people can, and to hold this, unconditional loyalty for someone because they're ahead of life than you can...is simply a disgusting thing that has been abused and taken advantage of by people who don't deserve a sliver of respect. I probably come off unhinged but yeah this sort of situation makes me pretty passionate when it comes to people trying to bullshit an excuse like they're old or wiser now. Its saddening to think how many people are in this type of situation or worse.
As someone who was abused over 30 years ago as a small child ... I say thank you Muta. If anyone had claimed my abuser needed to face justice i wouldve cried with relief. Thank you for thinking of victims and being an advocate ❣️
The moment we begin making excuses, the more and more it becomes normalized. People become desensitized to these situations, and they care less. They grow a mentality of "oh well" whenever it happens. That mentality is why our society is falling. The people who disagreed with Muta are part of the problem. Whether they realize it or not.
The reason our society is falling is because of political instability and economical/social problems. Just like the Romans did 15 and a half centuries ago
I'm afraid this is what's currently happening with pedophilia, we're seeing more people defend/justify it. And they'll start using the "love is love" or "weare a marginized group just like the lgbtq community" queote from the lgbtq to justify it, and I think this will be seen as more acceptable over time. I'm already seeing little Inclings of it, and it's questionable to say the least.

Nobody is arguing that it was okay for him to abuse anyone. The disagrement is on him growing as a person and being able to live a normal life without greeving over his bad past. Without going into detail, I was sexually molested as a kid. Not by an adult, fortunately, but by an older kid. I never told anyone because I was genuinely afraid (among other things, I was scared that I was "pregnant" -- I didn't know how sex worked, I am male, but every day on the way home from school I felt sick to my stomach (I was also ashamed and felt guilty, like it was my fault and adults would punish me if I told them). I was made to do things that honestly make me want to puke, just thinking about. It's still very hard to talk about, even after all these years. Not the same case, obviously. But Muta's right. That shit fucks you up for _life_ , saying from experience. Sure, you learn to cope, but the scars are still there.

He keeps asking me how I'm not over being sexually assaulted at age 16 (I'm 24 now) and it's like "bro you don't just get over having another guy grab your dick and then choke the shit out of you when you reject his advances." That shit has gotten *less* painful as time has gone on, but there is a baseline level of hurt that's gonna stay with me. And what really makes it fucked up is that the guy who did it will always be known as just "some guy" and not as a molester. I've wondered if I should come out and tell people about what he did, but idk what he might do to my family or me if I took a stand. So I stay silent, because the time for something to be done was when I was 16, and the few people who knew about it back then didn't see me as enough of a human to give a shit about. And it's a sad situation that happens to millions of people. Someone is able to take advantage of them because no one else cared enough to stand up. That's what old boy did to those troubled teens back in the 70s, right? Kinda ironic how I was told as a kid to avoid a guy in a van because I might get molested, only for a guy my age who I went to school with to do it. It doesn't matter how much time has passed since a crime was committed or even if any victims and their families are deceased. Victims deserve justice and criminals need to be held to account. An edit... I read a comment here from a victim of abuse who said until a criminal is held to account it feels as though they don't matter. That hit so so hard. You matter.
People that tend to be all about "forgiving pedos" and whatnot, or feeling bad for them or accepting "MAP"s all have something in common, they stand up for forgiving things like this, but then hold grudges against people in their personal life that have done waaayyy less. It's ridiculous.
Muta if you read this you're insane. Don't come down here, it's a cesspool. You're better and your mental health is signficantly more important than to deal with goddamn youtube comments.
I hate when people try to gaslight by calling situations like this cancel culture. It's not cancel culture it's holding someone accountable, you're just angry and afraid that you could be next. Don't be a terrible human and you wont get "canceled".
Oh, is that's why Featureman's channel is still up, while people complaining about gloomers a few months back got banned? Face it, your typical cancel culture mob couldn't care less about stories like this.
I'm so glad you have a strong stance on this kind of thing. People like to place moral judgments on a lot of odd rules and values that aren't based on any analysis or based on any sort of sense of harm or benefit to people, and this sort of thing shouldn't have any exceptions on anything. A lot of people really need to reevaluate their values and whether they actually care about harm happening to people or whether they just care about themselves and their own values for themselves.
You can try and reason your way out of or around some issues and try and say things like "People make mistakes" or "That was a long time ago" but the simple fact is that some things just can NEVER be undone or forgiven. These are not issues that can be erased by time, these are scars that will remain forever and in turn as will the inability to forgive such terrible things. Thank you sir for covering all this and helping keep these things in the conversation, these things get purposely overlooked and it needs to stop. Things happen, people make mistakes and change and get to learn from those mistakes and grow as a person, but This Is Not One Of Those Things!!!
3:29 Call me sadistic but I think the penalties for sex offenders are far too lenient, and that sex offenders should either be sentenced to life without parole or death.
The problem with that is: There are a considerable amount of people in jail that didn't commit the crime. Especially for sex crimes. If you put people to death for that then a lot of innocent people are going to die.
I feel the same way, until I realize our justice system is completely flawed and prosecutors try to win every case that they get regardless of inaccuracies, lack of intent, lack of evidence, ect. It has turned into just another role in a revenue generating machine.
These people would really rather shit in their own shoes and die than hold men accountable for shitty actions. Thank you for speaking up, mad respect dude.
"Hold men accountable" is an odd way for saying put sezzual criminals in a highly violent and sezzual environment for their lives. That'll do wonders for their reformation! They'll pay their due time and be totally ready to reenter society, after prison.

People who defend predators are predators themselves behind closed doors how can you justify this act? People are definitely turning more weird and crazy
You hit it right on the head. This guy most likely created generational trauma. The minors involved could have become predators themselves and so on a so forth.
I think we really see this in modern society. That mixed with arrested development has created a cycle of victims creating victims. Which is taken advantage of.
@@nojuanatall3281 Yep, I was at the break of this type of wave, it made life very hard I will have no children and fell behind in life. I will not pass on this evil.
@@nojuanatall3281 What if we worked to alleviate the trauma and cycle of abuse through more humane means? If these people are victims themselves, surely they deserve to be taken care of and room to heal to put brakes on that cycle? If we really properly took care of the abused, they would not be abusers. We don't deal with the aftermath of abuse as effectively as we could. The way I see it, our society is full of threats, and suppresses the feelings we may feel that resulted from our abuse, until it pops. It takes a very brave person to be honest about how their trauma has made them feel in a world that is not so willing to understand or have any patience for it. I think if we did, we would have less people getting hurt. I personally dealt with those feelings, but it is not the feelings that make you a bad person, it is what you do. What we can do though, is very much influenced by the support we have. Essentially, the responsibility doesn't lie solely with the would be abuser, but also the community around them willing to treat them with some humanity to heal their relationship with themselves and others. Unfortunately, I feel like our current system very much emphasizes the individual, personal responsibility and self sufficiency. We don't have a lot of room to take care of each other. If the world was less competitive, and more collaborative, this would be easier.
Absolutely agree. There’s no reason to accept this type of stuff no matter how far back. The second you allow people to see a situation where this is alright, they WILL take it as far as they can to relieve themselves of the guilt of being crazy

@The wanderer (i am going to brag about my brother sry) my brother is 14, i'm about 30, i've always stressed the importance of doing solid research and knowing your sources. and he really took it to heart which i wasn't expecting, cause i felt like such an annoying old person when i'd talk about it. when he was eight he got into a heated debate with a classmate about whether sonic or kirby is more powerful. they had a powerpoint presentation duel after school for months on end..... (which i didn't even know the kids were doing but i LOVE it) and my brother did so much research, would corroborate that research across sources, he did MATH for FUN lol. and then put together these real in depth presentations on why kirby is one of the most powerful beings to have ever lived. his presentations were so good that i would actually fight you right now if you told me kirby couldn't kill God Himself with one punch lol. other kid just basically said 'sonic go fast whoosh'. that was when i realized yeah, my brother is smart as heck for his age :) and now he's writing and still doing great research and checking his sources and i'm just very proud, i think that's the one good thing i did in my life is teach him the importance of reputable sources. (i was an english lit nerd so research and citing sources????? that was my bread and butter lol give me a primary source, i love that) so idk, yeah most people don't verify their facts, but at least some people still do. i at least have hope for him [i did warn you this would all be about my brother lol]
Unpopular idea: wtf kind of punishment is banning him from youtube. He was supposed to be in jail and slipped through and there is nothing we can do about it.
@@therealcarneline6524 i really see that as the job of law inforcement. The only indication that he is still potentially dangerous is him not showing any remorse. Maybe that's enough of an indication Im no psychologist or lawyer so I don't know. But if he is I don't see how banning him is gonna do much beside make everyone feel better. Although I still it's justified to ban him.
There is no excuse for pedophilia and there is not statute of limitations for being a disgusting individual. Maybe it happened 50 years ago, but really all that means is this kid has gone *50 YEARS WITHOUT JUSTICE!!!!* It's a crime that once commited, ruins the victim's life, confidence, comfort, stability, sense of safety, relationships, ect. Someone has suffered for 50 years because of the actions of this man. There is no excuse and no redemption. Once you hurt a child, there's no going back.
Well, as a Christian, I believe people deserve forgiveness if they truly do repent and change 1. He bragged about getting off on a technicality meaning probably doesn't feel that. Sorry as if he did feel super remorseful he would have accepted his guilt in the fullest 2. Definitely shouldn't be allowed in environment where he would have access to minors easily
It's better to have a millstone tied around your neck and cast into the sea than to harm a child. -Christianity Are you sure your held values are compatible with Christianity?
Right with you. Forgiveness =/= letting him get any sort of spotlight again. Especially when it's clear that he doesn't regret his horrible, horrible crimes. His attempt to make himself the victim makes me very, very scared for the state of his soul
As someone who was SA'd as a child it really does stick with you forever. To this day I still struggle with a fear of healthy intimacy and I am very blessed to have a partner willing to work with me on it. If the victim is going to be haunted forever, so should the perpetrator. Being old does not put you on some consequence-free pedestal.
If you just punched a dude in a bar fight some years back and regret it, that's fine. This mf went after a damn child and did what he did, there's NO excuse. There's no mere shred of remorse in him from what he did, even if he did, the victim got no justice.
I don’t know how many people have a heard of a movie call The Girl in the Basement, but it’s basically a true story about a father who goes crazy because his daughter wants to leave the family to travel the world in order to get away from him, and because of this he locked his daughter in the basement for 20 something years and had multiple children with her. One of the few variations between the movie and the real life incident (as far as I understand) is that the man was already a convicted rapist and had his record expunged a few years later off of a “technicality” to which he took advantage of. This just shows an example of a situation where time doesn’t change people.
Kind of related, the white woman who accused Emmit Till of assaulting her and getting him lynched like 50 years ago died today. Never faced any consequences whatsoever.
When someone starts saying shit like "age is just a number" and "it's all subjective" you know that they're either a pedo trying to justify their preference, of a grooming victim who doesn't want to accept that they were groomed. Either way, what the actual fuck ?!

Accountable for what?
What did he do related to his channel that warrants it being removed?
Or is it purely "he is bad man, pls remove bad man"?
I mean if they're very old at that point we're paying for free elderly care and rent
I'm sorry you have to go through this, you matter.

God bless you and i'm sorry you had to go through that.
Hope you're doing better, just remember that you matter and your worth isn't defined by what you've been through. You got this! :D

Facts. From my experiences, those who demand this most tend to be rather disrespectful themselves.
I’m so damn sorry this happened to you, and that there are horrible people out there that defend this stuff. I pray that nothing but good will come your way in life
@@pepinowhite5014 Thanks man, I appreciate you. I don't get how people can defend rapists/molesters/abusers. It's not something _anyone_ should go through, and my heart goes out to other victims, as well.
Sure does!
A friend of mine still hadn't figured this out.
Really makes you think about how sex predators really operate in real life.
@lilahdog 568 I was sexually assaulted by my female 2nd cousin who was around the same age as me. The crazy thing was I was crying while it was happening and she was smiling and enjoying it the whole time. Makes my blood boil everytime I think about it. If I was too see her now I'd probably deck her in the face tbh.
I was pretty much in shock. Like many others this man just seemed so wholesome and the fact that I was so ignorant to his true nature for such a long time devastates me. I have a feeling its more about the precedent. By that argument no person with a rap sheet can ever be allowed on the site
@@AnDr3w066 I think an important distinction is whether the person in question takes full responsibility of their crimes and show remorse. I'm not one of those people who want to lock up people forever or have past behaviour haunt a person forever, but personally I'm much more forgiving when someone takes responsibility than when they're not. By not taking responsibility, or even worse gloating about getting off easy or making light of their past misdeeds, to me that shows that they have not learned from their behaviour and grown as a person, and they can do the same things again.

I am 20 and was SA-ed when I was 7 and 11, SH-ed through much of high school. I am likely never going to truly get over being treated as a pleasure-object by random strangers, let alone people I should have been able to trust. I no longer have break downs and panic attacks, but that feeling of being *violated* will likely never leave. I can move on, I can adapt, but it will stay--and that has been harder to acknowledge than when I finally accepted that what happened to me was wrong.
I no longer react to this kind of news with the same ferocity as I did when I was younger, but not because I believe that crime is any less abhorrent. I'm simply tired. I think people who try and justify this stuff are victims themselves, and this is their way of coping. By downplaying the tragedy so they do not have to analyze their own.
These predators never change. When you cross that line, there is no uncrossing it. There is no 'changing.' There are some things that can never be undone, and that is one of them. He will ALWAYS be a predator, and he should be charged as one. He should be treated with the same vitriol as someone who has been caught yesterday. Once a predator, always a predator. I would feel safer locked away with a lion or a bear than with a s3xual predator. At least when a lion goes for my throat, it is of no fault of its own. Those are its instincts, the way it was birthed. Predators are not created, they are made.
They can change. It takes a lot of time that it may seem like they never do, or it rarely happens that they get proper treatment.
I completely agree with you
These people would really rather shit in their own shoes and die than hold men accountable for shitty actions.

EXACTLY!
You reading the misspelled stuff out loud with emotion has me CRYING
Absolutely agree. There’s no reason to accept this type of stuff no matter how far back. The second you allow people to see a situation where this is alright, they WILL take it as far as they can to relieve themselves of the guilt of being crazy
Yes but the problem is how do you punish a already elderly man with nothing to lose? people with life sentences usually get out when they are elderly and nearly dead as it costs the states more money to keep them alive and in prison

Some crimes committed are inexcusable and should be held accountable for life. Keep doing what you're doing. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.... "
Hi Muta,
I’m really glad you talked about this because I had no idea that featureman committed these horrible crimes. I was watching his videos while I would feed my baby. He seemed like a kind man kinda like a grandpa. I like cooking videos and I found his cheap cooking interesting. Anyway thanks to you talking about this I will no longer be watching him! I would have never known about this otherwise!
Atomic Shrimp does nice cooking videos as well. Living on 1 £ a day, foraging, etc. All the helpful stuff.

People seem to forget what to me is the worst part of this whole ordeal is. The kids he victimized where already victims to the world. He preyed on some of the most vulnerable beings existing. It is the closest thing you can get to evil in this world imo.
Btw pedophiles and rapists don’t ever change that’s wild.
I am disappointed in a lot of people in the commentary community because there are too many gullible people in this community and that's bad.

@The wanderer (i am going to brag about my brother sry)
my brother is 14, i'm about 30, i've always stressed the importance of doing solid research and knowing your sources. and he really took it to heart which i wasn't expecting, cause i felt like such an annoying old person when i'd talk about it.
when he was eight he got into a heated debate with a classmate about whether sonic or kirby is more powerful. they had a powerpoint presentation duel after school for months on end..... (which i didn't even know the kids were doing but i LOVE it) and my brother did so much research, would corroborate that research across sources, he did MATH for FUN lol. and then put together these real in depth presentations on why kirby is one of the most powerful beings to have ever lived. his presentations were so good that i would actually fight you right now if you told me kirby couldn't kill God Himself with one punch lol. other kid just basically said 'sonic go fast whoosh'. that was when i realized yeah, my brother is smart as heck for his age :)
and now he's writing and still doing great research and checking his sources and i'm just very proud, i think that's the one good thing i did in my life is teach him the importance of reputable sources. (i was an english lit nerd so research and citing sources????? that was my bread and butter lol give me a primary source, i love that)
so idk, yeah most people don't verify their facts, but at least some people still do. i at least have hope for him
[i did warn you this would all be about my brother lol]
what?
@@mightymeatymech Bruh, your brother should be a professor or historian by now, wtf?
@wren does nothing I'd be proud to have a brother like that too. Encourage him.
Popular idea: He's old don't punish him
Unpopular idea: He's old, how will he escape the wood chipper?
wood chippers stand for equal rights
Unpopular idea: wtf kind of punishment is banning him from youtube. He was supposed to be in jail and slipped through and there is nothing we can do about it.
@@bakirev it's not really a punishment it's just to make sure he can't contact minors on a platform
@@therealcarneline6524 i really see that as the job of law inforcement. If he is actually still dangerous they should be monitoring him, because there a lot better places he can contact minors anonymously than doing it on youtube. The only indication that he is still potentially dangerous is him not showing any remorse. Maybe that's enough of an indication Im no psychologist or lawyer so I don't know. But if he is I don't see how banning him is gonna do much beside make everyone feel better. Although I still it's justified to ban him.

It amazes me how someone can look at that type of comment and say "Oh that should be perfect to send" then proceed to send it.
Imagine thinking a person deserves to be put on a pedestal because they lived past their expiration date.
Not even if it was Mr. Rogers.
Regardless of how long ago the crime was, it will still be there in his track record for the coming of time and Karma can always come back
it is in his track record and he is registered as a sex offender
Who's to say he wasn't active until recently? Old habits die hard after all.
Regardless of how cute you are, you will still be cute.
karma LOVES to arrive when least expected
Yep, lets apply that logic to you and hold you accountable for every little bad thing you do for the rest of your life
People should get arrested and investigated for trying to justify predators.
Can’t do that because that would be a violation of 1st amendment
There is no excuse for pedophilia and there is not statute of limitations for being a disgusting individual. Maybe it happened 50 years ago, but really all that means is this kid has gone *50 YEARS WITHOUT JUSTICE!!!!* It's a crime that once commited, ruins the victim's life, confidence, comfort, stability, sense of safety, relationships, ect. Someone has suffered for 50 years because of the actions of this man. There is no excuse and no redemption. Once you hurt a child, there's no going back.

Well, as a Christian, I believe people deserve forgiveness if they truly do repent and change
1. He bragged about getting off on a technicality meaning probably doesn't feel that. Sorry as if he did feel super remorseful he would have accepted his guilt in the fullest
2. Definitely shouldn't be allowed in environment where he would have access to minors easily
It's better to have a millstone tied around your neck and cast into the sea than to harm a child.
-Christianity
Are you sure your held values are compatible with Christianity?
Right with you. Forgiveness =/= letting him get any sort of spotlight again. Especially when it's clear that he doesn't regret his horrible, horrible crimes. His attempt to make himself the victim makes me very, very scared for the state of his soul
Forgive him but watch him around kids
Even if he does regret what he did it doesn’t change what he is and it doesn’t erase the past.
@@robertnapier624 no one said it undoes the harm he caused
As someone who was SA'd as a child it really does stick with you forever. To this day I still struggle with a fear of healthy intimacy and I am very blessed to have a partner willing to work with me on it. If the victim is going to be haunted forever, so should the perpetrator. Being old does not put you on some consequence-free pedestal.
"he did this crime decades ago he may regret it now" is something that maybe could apply if he didn't traumatize a kid for life
And actually showed even the slightess hint of regret.
Yup, still remember that. He also impregnated at least one of his daughter-granddaughters.
I got angry reading some of the comments…. I had to close them. I appreciate your work and I agree, it’s kind of sad how little understanding there is on the severity of this.
It’s been 20 since it happened to me and I will carry those scars to my grave. I don’t care how old he gets. I will always hope that every moment of his life is nothing but agony especially for the agony he caused me. Anyone who supports this kind of behavior or even remotely treats it like it’s ok should be put on a watch list just as much as the predators. I hope UA-cam does it part and removes this UA-camr. The fact of the matter is that some people are just bad people and will defend other bad people that they see themselves in.
Once a child’s involved there’s no redemption.
Seeing Muta go into Matt Rose territory over the spelling mistakes and caps locks was pretty entertaining.
According to some people enjoying some fictional characters makes you a criminal who doesn't deserve to live, but abuse real children and you can be excused as long as it wasn't recent. Attack artists and fans of legal drawings, but forgive abusers who use a legal loophole and show no remorse? Absolute Lunacy..... TAKE YOUR MEDS
I don't know if you're going to see this comment, but I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for having a strong stance against child predators and pedophiles.
I was sexually abused as a child by a family member. It ruined my life and I still deal with the consequences of that abuse till this day. Every day is a struggle with mental health issues that developed because of what was done to me. I almost ended my life a few times because of it. That shit stays with you till the day you die.
Watching your strong and aggressive stance on these awful predators is so cathartic and satisfying for me. My abuser is never gonna face any consequences, but seeing you advocate for deplatforming predators gives me a sense of justice of some sorts.
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything that you do on your channel.
