I'd like to see your process for the lathing and welding of the 930 axles.
Those new instructions are a lot easier than the old ones :)
Yeah, the availability is better, the quality is more consistent and the instructions are easier. it's a win all around
This is probably a stupid question but why do you need new axles when the transmission is staying the same? Can they just not handle the power?
The endurance racing was causing overheating on the axles, these axles are race prepared and don't build nearly as much heat.
First!
Now we just need a way to convert to flat tappet rockers for that high rpm power
Where did you get that CV drive flange? Any ideas if they're available in the SW20 pattern? I tracked down an E359F for my future swap but the axles are... Different, to put it mildly, from what I've got in the currently installed E150F and I think my best bet is to make a custom drive flange akin to what you showed in that brief shot of the lathe. I could cut up the drive flanges I currently have but they're getting to be a fairly rare part for the Celica guys so I'd prefer to keep them intact.
Toyota only has a few different wheel side splines so there's no reason to destroy the rare axles to make something like this. As for the SW20 flanges the only way i know you could get those is by buying MR2 stubs and machining the flanges off. You can get the axles from my site: frankensteinmotorworks.squarespace.com/shop/sw20axlesandstubs
@@FrankensteinMotorworks Yeah I'd prefer to avoid trashing the stuff I have. The Rav4 outers are the right spline count/diameter for my application but I worry the shafts themselves might be too long as the 2nd gen Camry has a narrower front track than any of the later stuff.
