- The 4th attempt to get the STS-73 Columbia mission off the ground occurred on Oct 7, 1995. The countdown was stopped at the T-20 minute mark due to a master events controller (MEC).
Shuttlesource is a space shuttle video archive featuring rare and exclusive video from the program’s 30-year history. Relying on private and NASA sourced video, this is a project to restore and digitize this historical treasure for all to enjoy.
With over 1,000 hours of video still to be released, the video archive will offer perspective on every shuttle mission from astronaut training, briefings, mission operations, orbiter preparations and news media coverage as a snapshot in time.
Thanks to all have contributed your footage and offered support, I hope you enjoy the videos!

My respects to all the astronauts who experienced a Scrub after spending hours inside the Space Shuttle awaiting the launch. Thank you very much Shuttlesource for these videos, this is a JEWEL.
Hail Space Shuttle Program ❤
Hail Columbia 😭

Thanks for this Mike, some might be disappointed there is no launch to watch, but these are just as important
@@campbellmays9900 he has a huge library of shuttle footage so it doesn't surprise me! Lol
I used to set my DVR for the Tanking Coverage of a Shuttle launch whenever NASA TV had it. Shuttle missions were always wonderful things to work by listening to the chatter in the background.
Tanking coverage wasn’t much of a thing until after Columbia. I think I heard that STS-88 had it but I’m not sure.@@syferdet
All hail space shuttle columbia
4:39:46 Holy crow, Bill Harwood is so young back then! Such a knowledgable guy.
Oh Columbia, always so naughty on the ground.
Who is the orbiter test conductor?
Is it Bruce Buckingham or George Diller on PAO? They sound quite similar.
I think it’s Bruce. George has a slightly more ‘natural’ style to his voice.
Bruce for sure
It's too bad that they didn't scrub the launch of the last Columbia shuttle.
For what? Foam shedding was a known issue. I think you mean they should have just grounded the fleet until they solved it….
2:41:55 heeeey, that’s the launch director guy from the pilot episode of The Cape! I didn’t know he actually worked for NASA,I thought he was an actor.
There's a few people from that show who do this in real life. Not just the launch director. A few of the astronauts played supporting roles as well. I think I saw one or two of them in the Prince episode.
In the episode where an ill Reggie has to commandeer a shuttle landing you can see Marsha Ivins at a Mission Control console, and in the episode with the crazy lady who stalks Jack Owen Garriott played a KSC official@@fionawimber1028
