It just makes the scene seem so much more realistic that Tom Cruise (despite there definitely being multiple takes) takes care to make it seem like he is making the climb for the first time and shows hesitation and uncertainty of what to do next.
I've seen many, many movies and action sequences in my life. This is one of the best realized, most gripping, most spectacular sequences I know. WTF. This helicopter sequence alone pulverizes the last two Bond films
I think it was a huge mistake making him a bad guy and killing off Henry cavils character. He’s young enough to be able to make 5, 6 more movies, strong, charismatic and likable. He could have taken over from Ethan and I would have watched every sequels.
This franchise has become Cruise’s baby. When he’s gone they’ll have to retire it for a while before they can do a reboot. Plus they already tried the “new Ethan Hunt” character with Jermey Renner in Ghost Protocol, didn’t work out super well
@@ABeans07 I feel bad for him, he did very well in both roles but gets overshadowed by the titans of both franchises (Cruise for MI and Damon for Bourne)
Tom Cruise and his stunts are the selling points though. I also have Walker as my favorite villain in the franchise so I personally don't mind much in him killed off.
*Years ago, Malayalam actor named Jayan died while shooting such dangerous stunt scene from flying helicopter...* 😢😔 *So safety first dear Tom cruise* 👍🙏

I have to say that was a dangerous high quality stunt for this movie. no wonder Tom Cruise was putting the hammer down when talking about they need to get their crap together when it comes to you know new health policies definitely was serious about making this. that's exactly how I'd look climbing for the 1st time possibly falling and I don't think I'd be able to get back up!
All seriousness aside. I think it's funny that through most of the movie Benji is seen as the weakest link physically and a competent yet often aloof smart technician.
On the cyclic control handgrip there is a covered cargo hook jettison button, raise the cover, jettison the cargo, complete with the troublesome secret agent hanging off it...
Solomon was staying to die so maybe didn't have a way to contact Lark? Also the way to disarm the bombs required them to be deactivated at the same time and he was guarding one so justified confidence
Normally I can do 20 good pull-ups living on the coast. I lost 4 and went down to 16 while I was visiting Colorado (thinner air) I imagine, I could do about 10 hanging from that helicopter. Conclusion: Nothing important, obviously it's just a movie but it's interesting to think about "irl" scenarios. Also, I'd have died about 15 times by this point in the movie anyway so whatever.
So why is that helicopter still holding onto the rocks as they as leaving before the bomb blows? Also I know why the bad guy doesn’t do anything but him watching Ethan run to the helicopter and not doing anything (after getting caught last time) really shows he shouldn’t complain this time when his plan fails.
I think they should have made Cruise actually climb a rope before faking climbing a rope. His pathetic footwork is the most unbelievable part of the scene.
