And of course not realizing that Hunt is so skilled at understanding people that he knew Hunley would do this and as such put himself in the one place Hunley would never expect him to be… all this of course AFTER tricking the PM into implicating Atlee and confirming the Syndicate isn’t just a myth. Easily the best scene in the entire series.

Besides the awesomeness that is Hunt, I really like this scene because of the Prime Minister. It may be because the first two roles I saw Tom Hollander play he was a bloodthirsty, power-hungry psycho (Cutler Beckett in Pirates of the Caribbean) and a spineless ambitious git (Minister Simon Foster from In the Loop). So it was rather surprising and nice seeing Hollander play a reasonable authority figure with morals and fortitude who rejected authoritarian powers and showed a willingness to go after those who tried to do it anyway and "help" the IMF. Plus his antics while drugged were hilarious (particularly because he's letting Brandt to finally seduce the rich guy ;) )

I really hate how they interpreted Blofeld in Daniel Craig's movies. He would've worked fine on his own as James Bond's nemesis but then they just have to go and add the very unnecessary shared backstory between the two, which leads to the implication that Blofeld turned out to be a criminal mastermind and created a global terrorist organization that committed heinous acts worldwide...just to get back at his adopted brother? That's just silly as hell xD.

After Ethan hands Hunley the gun and he nods at Ethan it would have been cool for Ethan to say “nice to finally meet your in person, mr Hunley”
Has a double meaning, beginning of a partnership and a joke, since Hunley was after Hunt for 6 months and never came close to him.

Best scene of the movie. I was never into IM/spy shows, but Tom Cruise
made me LOVE this shit! I have never seen a franchise where EVERY movie is
better than its predecessor. I've been a Tom fan for years. He is an absolute
favorite and I love his films, but this? This is his masterpiece, his magnum
opus, and I will mourn the day that he completes the final chapter.

It's not sarcasm. The PM really believes it. They seem to be under the influence of truth serum / suggestibility drug, so they can gaslight the PM into believing Hunt was never there and it was Atlee acting alone
