    Your are responsible. I bought an electric Uke and some pedals. You addicted me to Uke. :-)
    I can't live without an Uke anymore. A Uke is now an endless fun to play. Thank you so much.

    I've had my eye on kmise pedals to play with my electric guitars. I hadn't thought about using them with ukuleles. Thanks for the video!

    Sounds good. I use a Boss CS-3 compressor/sustain, , Boss DS-2 Distortion, Small Clone Chorus, Boss PS-5 Pitch Shifter, Caline CP-19 Blue Ocean Delay on my board.

      @@UkuleleWales I replaced the caline with a Joyo (Joyo's copy of a MXR Carbon Copy) and added a Joyo Atmosphere Reverb and finally a Joyo AC Tone (emulates the legendary Vox AC-30 amplifier). i am not a techie guy and i do not like to use a lot of pedals. However, my songs dictate what pedals I have and use. It is more convenient for me to use the pitch shifter to detune my uke without having to change uke's or fidal with my tuner. I sometimes use it to emulate a 12 string guitar on certain songs.. I run through a 50 watt PA and a 30 watt (sometimes 15 watt) Acoustic amplifier. The DS-2 and the Small Clone is set to emulate emulate Kurt Cobain's settings when I am using the Flight Pathfinder Electric ukulele. Many of the songs I do are Hawaiian folk or Hawaiian pop songs. So I use one of my electric acoustic uke's for that. Many of my other songs need the reverb and or the delay (U2 songs). A versitile board.

    Thank you for your videos, they are very informative. I wonder if you would consider doing a video on how to set up a practice session for ukulele/u-bass. My problem is I just sit down and play the songs from my U-group and the odd other one that I like (often with a new chord), but I don't think this is stretching me very much. I'd love to know how to structure a practice session and various exercises to help with things like, making me faster, learning new chords, learning how to pick, etc etc. Just a suggestion - I really enjoy your teaching style. Cheers

      Hi, thanks for your great comment. I can certainly have a think about how I can explain best practice ideas so Thanks for that suggestion.
      In the mean time, try and think about different techniques, so maybe start a "practice session" with working on strum patterns alone (you can use the rhythm videos I've made) or a new chord by playing along using a chord drill. I always try and play things I like, even if I have completely nailed it but then I'll also try and find something new. You might not get all these things done in one go but you will start to get a little more organised.
      Also, little and often is better than long sessions making finger sore.

    Ooooo, I like that lighted Saguaro cactus off to the left. FYI, they don't start growing arms until they're about 80 to 85 years old. They are the symbol of the Sonoran Desert...

    Thanks so much for this! I haven't tried any pedals yet and wouldn't have known where to start. I've seen them online but it's impossible to tell what they might sound like without a point of reference.

      Thanks Steve, I know I've struggled to find many videos on ukes and effects and they do sound very different than with guitars. Was thinking of you and you stomp box with the spring reverb, sorry, Ireally should have mentioned your great vid. Shall look forward to your pedal adventures.

      Thanks for thinking of me and my channel! I have acquired all the makings of a "fuzz" effects pedal that plan to make in a small cigar box. I think I'll call it a "fuzz box." Now I just need to find the time to put it together!

    Thanks for an excellent and informative video. I am planning to build a small cheap effects board following you future videos. what cheap effects pedals would you recommend to start with

    • @UkuleleWales
      @UkuleleWales  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Malcolm, so gald you enjoyed and it's helped. Do you mean brand or type of pedal. If you are talking type, depending if your amp has any effects, if it doesn't personally I would certainly look at reverb, chorus and delay but it really is down to what type of sound you are trying to achieve. In terms of brand, so many to choose from! Please ask away if you need more answers and good lucj with your pedalboard.

    For the ukulele I can recommend the Mooer GE150 Multieffect Pedal. There is an amp and cabinet simulation included and the Line Out can directly plugged in an audio Interface of a computer. And you can play by night because a headphone jack is also build in.
    You can select different mikrophone types and you can define the position of the mikrophone in front of the virtual cabinet. And there so many great sounding Effects included.
    I think it is the right solution for people who don't want to DIY.
