Just want to point out that the UAG scout case will lift the corners of a screen protector if you have one on. I have a UV LOCA screen protector on and upon installing the case one of the corners of the screen protector got lifted. Took the case off and reinstalled and then a different corner got lifted. So depending on how you install it, it will possibly lift one of the corners of your screen protector or maybe even more. With that being said I took a rotary tool and shaved down the internal corners a bit to prevent the lifting. Didn't seem to affect the cases ability to stay on the phone, but of course YMMV.
The cutout on the top of the Tudia cases are for the 5G mmWave antenna; I haven't found any published actual tests of it, but theoretically it seems like even a thin case could significantly impact mmWave signals.
I have used nothing but Spigens for a long time. I have dropped my phones where it hit every way possible and never had an issue once. Spigen makes the best case especially at the cost.
Studia is the only brand that has the cutout at the top for the 5G antenna. It's made of glass or plastic & not aluminum like the rest of the frame/bezel. For that reason Spigen shouldn't have covered that critical part.
This is true, but keep in mind that this will only have an effect if your phone carrier supports millimeter wave 5g and you are actually in an area that has that type of coverage.
@@TheJabberTech but they shouldn't fill in that cutout by default on their cases. I bought the 7 Pro and it clearly has a glass like part on top right corner that is about a half inch long.
My number one complaint ever since I started getting pixels when they first came out is the issue of case selection. I have loved to fix a phone ever since it's come out even though they have had their quirks and issues. Generally speaking, they have been excellent phones. I cannot stand the fact that most case makers make 10 different styles and five different colors to choose from for an iPhone. But then they'll give the pixel a black case and only one style. Or maybe they'll do a black and a pink just in case a girl wants something other than black. Every now and again you'll find a company that makes a couple of styles, but it's just so frustrating. I want a case that is rugged. I don't want to thin case. I don't want to slim case. I want it to have grip. My wife always makes fun of me because anytime I upgrade my phone over the course of three or four months, I have a new case coming in because I've got to go down and figure out which case I'm going to use. Because you never know who's going to offer a decent case for pixel unusually nobody offers a great one. Speck made the grip that I absolutely loved even though it wasn't quite as rugged as I would like. That case was perfect until they changed it and now the ridges are the same plastic as the rest of the phone. There's no silicone to give you grip so it's pointless and they didn't even make a grip this year for the pixel. So I don't understand that it is very frustrating
Best phone case I've ever used is the Dbrand Grip. Had one for each Pixel and iPhone I've owned since 2018. Just got one for my P7 Pro. Excellent comparison video, mate!
Thanks for the video! I'm kinda leaning towards the tough armour but it looks like none of these things stick out further than the screen. Like zero side lip protection. The only one I can find that has lip protection is the Tudia DualShield but I really like having the kickstand so I'm stil not sure lol
I agree I would like some more lip protection... I can't think of when I would need to use the very edge of the screen... Is it mainly for gaming that people need extensive screen usage?
The Spigen case that I have on my One Plus 8 has never let me down. I had it on my previous LG phone as well and never had a problem with damage to my phone. I swear by this brand. I did have the case itself break off a small piece but I had it almost 17 months and it needed to be replaced. This case is by far the only brand I will buy for my phone...as long as they keep up the good work in the design and structure of their cases. This about have the price of Otter Box. I only wish more colors for women. My girlfriend hates the options.
I ordered the Ringke Fusion, only because it has the camera cutouts and covers the whole aluminium bar. All these have the bar exposed, which could be prone to scratches.
I bought the lemongrass pixel 7 so I got the Ringke fusion to show off the color. First time buying the brand and I have to say I love the matte clear finish. Hopefully the protection is just as good.
So basically, no one is providing side protection above the screen. Sigh. Except for Otterbox and chunky boi cases. Tudia seems to have some more but not sure.
Looking for a case for the pixel 7 pro with the following features Musts 1. Side edges should come above the screen for better protection. I don't understand why they don't get rid of the curved screens honestly. 2. Good camera protection 3. Supports wireless charging 4. Built in kickstand Bonus 5. Magnet on backside for car holders 7. Charging port cover 8. Integrated tempered glass screenprotector if the fingerprint still works well with it Many thanks!
Great video bro but why the hell did spigen remove the lanyard holes? On my normal pixel 6 case i have the liquid air and it has the lanyard hole but on my pixel 7 pro it doesn't have it :(
UAG isn't even trying. Look at the cases they designed for iPhone and Samsung, then take a second look at the Pixel cases. It's clear they used their worst design for Pixel 😔
Is it really necessary to have a case for Pixel 7 pro? What are the disadvantages if we dont have it ? Whats the point of having that beautiful SNOW 7 pro if we are covering that color with black case ?
Because it's 2022 and clear cases are cheaper than your face when you're watching your beautiful slick snow slip through your fingers into oblivion lol
Spigen cases cover the Glass sensor on top of the phone! How could they cover it with plastic if Google purposely made the sensor cover of translucent glass or plastic???
Not a fan of The OtterBox symmetry. With case on can see the edge of the metal frame. Everytime I pull out of my pocket seems like the case wants to come off
If I'm going to cover up my beautiful phone, I'd better use a case that's equally beautiful and elegant. None of those cheap-looking, juvenile cases. That's why I've been using Bellroy leather cases.

Caseology is by far top tier ! They keep stepping up quality/design
I'm afraid to switch from spigen. They worked for me well so far
I have used nothing but Spigens for a long time. I have dropped my phones where it hit every way possible and never had an issue once. Spigen makes the best case especially at the cost.
What a fantastic comparison. This is extremely helpful. Thank you!
Appreciate it
Spigen Tough Armor for me is the best
This really helped , thank you. I really like the Athlex case, might have to purchase this one lol. Keep up the good work!
Glad to hear!

Great review. I think you've swayed me to get the caseology with green accent. Are they heavier than the spigen liquid air ones?
Yes it's heavier
I bought the caseology blue one you showed last. Looks great and protects well 👍
My google 4xl broke at the top of my screen with this spigen cover. I do not understand how but my screen broke and stained blue😢

So basically, no one is providing side protection above the screen. Sigh. Except for Otterbox and chunky boi cases. Tudia seems to have some more but not sure.

Very useful video, thank you! In the ultra hibrid from Spigen, the black sides are rigid plastic or like rubber as the liquid air?
Ridgid
The Scout backs look slick. Wish they had grip on the backs like the sides.
