You shouldn’t be sorry for the security guard. He was just doing his job. All of what the guard was saying is mostly true, new policy that was updated about a year ago. As tourist I don’t want to go to other people country and complain about their park rules and regulations as I come from an already privileged country and 36.00 would only get me to a cheap water park.
Dear Mat and Angie, I'm so sorry to hear that. Actually, even we Cambodians have experienced and condemn this unreasonable, stupid ban. But i have good news to tell you that the authorities have lifted this type of regulations recently, allowing free shooting and vlogging. Thanks for visiting Cambodia and hope to see you again. 🙏
The reason why they are telling you that you can’t do the history of the temple has been because in the past months UA-camrs from Vietnam and Thailand made fake history of the temple and posted on UA-cam. They even showed that the temple was in Thailand, not in Cambodia. That why the UA-camrs need to consult with the authorities first before making the history videos to see if the UA-camrs are sending the correct history or message out to the world and not a fake history.
I totally agree with Mat and Angie that only ignorants don't know that Angkor Wat is in Cambodia. The story about UA-camrs that you (@franklordcf419) have created is misleading. I know about a Vietnamese UA-camr who made a video at Angkor Wat that made Cambodian unhappy. But, in her video, there is nothing said about Angkor Wat was in Thailand. She was just doing something relating to her belief or cult, although she overlayed some pictures about Thailand on the video. I'm Thai. I haven't seen any Thai UA-camr who has visited Cambodia making contents to tell people that Angkor Wat is in Thailand. There is no reason to do so. If you have an evidence, show me. But if some Thai UA-camrs said something like , in a part of history, Angkor Wat used to be in Siam (an old name of Thailand) border, it is the history that I believe Cambodians know well. This is the truth. It was recorded in the history. People at that time passed. I recommend that you watch videos from Thai UA-camrs who travelled to Cambodia carefully and without bias. You will find that they all have had many good experiences from your country. Overall, they were happy with their trips. However, some Cambodian were too much sensitive. They got angry when the UA-camr commented about some inconvenience truth. For example, prices of products in Cambodian 7-11 were more expensive than in Thai 7-11. (It is about 30% higher for the same products of the same brands). Or, a couple of months ago, a Thai UA-camr who travelled from Phnom Penh to Sihanouk Ville via the new expressway managed by Chinese compared the expressway tolls between Cambodia and Thailand. She found that the toll in Cambodia was about double higher than in Thailand' for a same distance. I don't know why a large number of Cambodian got angry with her comment. This is the truth too. In her video, she loved many things in Cambodia such as foods, nice people at hotels, the bamboo train and so on. Why do your people focused on a very small (and they thought) negative part rather than on many positive one? In every country, there are many good things and bad things. In my country, we received many complaints from visitors in the past. Every time we knew their problem we tried our best to solve or improve it. Our tourism management has been improved continuously until now. We don't stop and we don't blame others for what we are not doing well. I think Cambodian can do the same thing for your future success. Finally, you should be informed that your number one tourists are Thais. Thais are the largest number of tourists visiting Cambodia for many years. I, myself, has a plan to visit Cambodia some days. I don't think you want to stop my plan.
I am curious. Is there an effort by some Thai nationalist to claim Cambodia as part of Thailand? I suspect the guards were simply following instructions. With the plague of selfie guides out explaining everything a lot of strange things are being said all over the world which can actually be threatening to some.
The ban was withdrawn, you can live, photos, video through social media (fb, tiktok,...). This ban happened since Vietnamess had taken photos, videos and said Angkor Wat is belong to Thailand. This was viral and led an unhappy among Cambodian.
Hi sister! thanks you for your video🙏💕 we will request authority to allow foreigner take videos inside of Angkor Wat! your videos look so. much beautiful and clear 💕🪷
Thanks for visiting our country. I think there also another idea that they try to adopt this law because neighbor country of Cambodia try to copy and claim temple and culture .
Sorry for the discomforts. From sharing your video to Apsara authority by lots of people, now it was changed for filming rules. Hope you will come to visit and enjoy travel again. Wish you and family good luck..
Permission was required to film, including for distribution to UA-cam. This is the sacred Angkor Wat, not Disneyland, so you should follow the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the regulations of the authorities. The security guards only responded appropriately. As a specific example, I understand that the on-site response was to warn people who were using tripods, as they were deemed to be working, not sightseeing. Just this month, in July 2024, the rules were revised to allow people to post on social media and take wedding photos without permission. However, filming for television and commercial purposes still requires review and permission. In addition, wedding photography is limited to traditional costumes, and I understand that filming that is inappropriate for Angkor Wat will continue to be prohibited.
To all kindhearted and hospitable cambodian brothers please help report to authorities those guards to prevent same circumstances in the future. That problem should be properly addressed to the higher authority. If u leave it like that ur country will have a bad reputations in the future no tourist will come because of those corrupt guards. Cambodians Please help
As a Cambodian citizen, we didn't appreciate that rule as well, but right now the government has just changed the rule that everyone can film and advertise everything around Angkor Wat. I'm sorry for what happened to you. We're pleased to welcome you back anytime!!! ❤
Generally the Cambodians are NOT Scammers, but you do not need a PERMIT TO FILM I would report the experience back at the central office as well as having these people identified and removed. The ticket price was recently raised to the overprice of $US37 which considering the monthly wages of the average worker is$150-200 the fee is over the top (locals can visit free)
Dear Mat and Angie, as Cambodian, I'm really sorry you had this unpleasant experience in SR. I hope you would forgive him, I am not the security guards side, if anything It's really embarrassing for me to see why the guard would do this to you. You have the right to express your personal experience and opinions about the places you visit, and the guard shouldn't have interrupted you while you were filming. You didn't break rules (at least not that I know of). There are always good and bad people wherever you go in the world and I hope you could find it your heart to forgive their ridiculous intervention on your vlog. If anything, I would like to thank you so much for visiting Cambodia and share your experience with viewers. Again, I'm sorry and Thank you so much for visiting Cambodia.

As a Cambodia adult I’m so Sorry for hearing that !! Now we update the rules and we allow to take the pictures and videos and hope you can visit other temples next times❤️ we’re always welcome you 🇰🇭❤️
To all you Cambodians out there, the government made a stupid rule that you can no longer film at Angkor Wat with a specific type of camera without a permit (cash grab scheme). So it's not really the security guard's fault. However, if he was rude (video did not show this), then he needs to be put in check and chill TFO.
The Words of Tuk Tuk was about Transport Reumork in Thailand but in Cambodia call Reumork Moto or Korng Bey. Difference from Auto or Pass-Up which are imported from India.

Great videography! Your shots capture the environment very lifelike without lens distortion and shakiness like most other people’s.

Rly appreciate u guys for visiting Cambodia 🙏🏻❤and rly feel sorry about what happened to u guys🙏🏻 hope u guys enjoy ur trip and have a safe travels, love from Cambodian ppl🇰🇭❤️
As I'm a Cambodia American I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused by a security guard of Angkor National Park Place
Thank you for saying so 🙏
You shouldn’t be sorry for the security guard.
Thank for come Cambodia 🇰🇭
Thank for sharing our country🙏🫶🏻
And sorry for bad some service and bad activity for guid at Angkor wat
Hey this hindu temple is open for worship?
Thank you for visiting Cambodia 🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭
Hello I’m from Cambodia ❤thanks for come to visit our country I hope you safe and sound enjoy your trip ❤
god bless for you. ❤
what camera did you use to film your vlogs. I love how calm your vlogs are.
What hotel did u stayed?
It was Marvelinn Siem Reap, so recommended 🤩
The reason why they are telling you that you can’t do the history of the temple has been because in the past months UA-camrs from Vietnam and Thailand made fake history of the temple and posted on UA-cam. They even showed that the temple was in Thailand, not in Cambodia. That why the UA-camrs need to consult with the authorities first before making the history videos to see if the UA-camrs are sending the correct history or message out to the world and not a fake history.
People know these temples are in Cambodia. Only ignorants don’t.
If that’s an actual rule it should be written.
I'm agree with 100%, but it's unfortunate that there were bad apples in every country, including Cambodia itself.@@is2m2ed25
I am curious. Is there an effort by some Thai nationalist to claim Cambodia as part of Thailand? I suspect the guards were simply following instructions. With the plague of selfie guides out explaining everything a lot of strange things are being said all over the world which can actually be threatening to some.
Have a good journey in cambodia both of you.
Thanks 😍
Can you use phone instead of gopro?
We were using our phones! 😅
@matandangie what is so secret about angkor wat that people cannot vlog using phones
The ban was withdrawn, you can live, photos, video through social media (fb, tiktok,...).
This ban happened since Vietnamess had taken photos, videos and said Angkor Wat is belong to Thailand. This was viral and led an unhappy among Cambodian.
You should visit Koh rong and koh rong sonloem Island it's so beautiful and some foreigners call Maldive of Cambodia 😂❤

Sending love from Cambodia people
I hope next time you come to visit they will treat you more well we Cambodian only wish you to enjoy our country 🇰🇭🇰🇭and you will alway be welcomed ❤❤
Sorry for the discomforts. From sharing your video to Apsara authority by lots of people, now it was changed for filming rules. Hope you will come to visit and enjoy travel again.
Wish you and family good luck..
you are so good
Permission was required to film, including for distribution to UA-cam.
ประเทศไทยยินดีต้อนรับ🇹🇭🎉
To all kindhearted and hospitable cambodian brothers please help report to authorities those guards to prevent same circumstances in the future. That problem should be properly addressed to the higher authority. If u leave it like that ur country will have a bad reputations in the future no tourist will come because of those corrupt guards. Cambodians Please help
As a Cambodian I really sorry that the security not allowed you to take the video. ❤❤❤
Welcome to កម្ពុជា អរគុណ ដែលបានមកទស្សនា 🇰🇭🇰🇭
😂😂😂 Scambodia land of Scammers
Hello I'm from Cambodia🇰🇭and I'm so sorry about that please come again people in Cambodia welcome❤🙏🇰🇭
As a cambodian people, I would like to say sorry for this.
Honestly, we got experiences about neighbor country came to Angkot Wat filmed some fake history. Hope you understand 🙏🙏
No worries we loved our interactions with Cambodians apart from the security guards, you’re so nice with tourists like us! That’s also why it was so disappointing!
Please come back one day we are support you.
Welcome to cambodia. We love you guys❤❤❤
Hello From Cambodia 🇰🇭
As a Cambodia adult I’m so Sorry for hearing that !! Now we update the rules and we allow to take the pictures and videos and hope you can visit other temples next times❤️ we’re always welcome you 🇰🇭❤️
To all you Cambodians out there, the government made a stupid rule that you can no longer film at Angkor Wat with a specific type of camera without a permit (cash grab scheme). So it's not really the security guard's fault. However, if he was rude (video did not show this), then he needs to be put in check and chill TFO.
Hi , now Cambodia government allowed all tours can make photo or video, .
The Words of Tuk Tuk was about Transport Reumork in Thailand but in Cambodia call Reumork Moto or Korng Bey. Difference from Auto or Pass-Up which are imported from India.
is 37 dollars cover the 3 temples?
As I am a Khmer Ppl I dnt like how the security guard work there as well. Some are good , some are scam. Anw thanks for visiting Cambodia.
Absolutely! Guards apart we loved it SO MUCH. 😍
As a Cambodian, I’m so sorry that you’ve face the bad experience with the guards.
Hello I’m from Cambodia and I’m so sorry about that please come again people in Cambodia welcome 🙏 ❤
I think i can say on behalf of the people here that we sincerely apologize for what happened. Anyone can film and talk about the temple as it would benefit us as well with the spread of words. I hope that didn't stop you from enjoying the trip!
Now they are allowed to record videos, and they are no longer banned as before.
