  • Scenic Lake Chelan is a vacation paradise that was created during the Ice Age. But how can geologists prove that an ice sheet from Canada did the digging?

Nick, you have a gift for telling a story. I've lived in Washington my entire life and it's like I'm experiencing it in a whole new way for the first time. I'm wondering if you'd heard of Randall Carlson and his theory that the source of massive flooding which shaped parts of eastern Washington could have come from British Columbia as the result of rapid warming of the ice? I listened to him on the Joe Rogan podcast and see parallels in how both of you can explain complex subjects to the lay person.

My household loves Nick and frequently mimicks his “My god!” from other videos. What an amazing time that we can learn about thousands of years of history with a quick search.

15 miles of uplift is almost incomprehensible. Wow!

I know I'm late to this but I've recently found this series and really like it. So, I think this sounds like a silly question but I'm not sure I know the answer, so I'll ask. The glaciers dug out the lake to make it so deep. Where did that lake bed matter go? I'm guessing it forms a high area around it? Or was it washed away in floods?

Also, it seems notable that Tahoe and Creator Lake were formed in different ways (I think) so this is the deepest lake in the US that's formed in this way?

Looks very similar to the Okanagan lake and other glacial carved lakes throughout the interior of BC & Washington state.
