  • Mount Elephant, Mount Leura, Mount Noorat, Lake Kellambete, Kurweeton Road cones, and Red Rock. There are many more volcanic formations I have yet to film in Victoria. I will edit another video soon. Thanks for watching.

I lived around these a lifetime ago and I regret not paying them enough attention when I had such easy access to them. I even installed the GSM equipment in the base station cabin on Mt Noorat and that view was breath-taking.

The dormant volcanoes with no names....I realise you have named them in your description above....but still, on screen naming would have been far more convenient. Other than that, beautiful photography, fascinating views.....thanks!

They are all on private property, but in saying that there are walking paths on most, but some are a distance away, so they can only admire with a drone from the air 😊

Back in the late 1970s, I worked for the Fisheries and Wildlife of Victoria, Snobb Creek Fish Hatchery and was involved in introducing Salmon into Lake Purembeet.

The whole east coast has many old volcanic areas, on the farm at Bundella, I use to find pieces of volcanic molten rocks, some petrified wood too.

This is Geelong.. I've driven past, always knew there was something different with those mountains..it's in land, bout 30 ks back from the ocean.. starts at Inverleigh goes towards Colac. It's another way to get to the great Ocean road, we just call it. Going the back way.

I realise that the prospect of yet another big bang is a quite enthralling one - unfortunately, I live on the slopes of Tower Hill in Koroit and it would rather disturb our peace and quiet without mentioing the discomfort suffered by the birds and extensive Fauna who would be rendered homeless.

There is also Mount Schank in SA, it’s much smaller than Mt Gambier. I’ve gone past Mount Elephant a few times and around that area there used to be Neolithic stone circles etc, but the early settlers destroyed them

I don't think it's as widely known as it should be that most of Victoria and into the eastern side of South Australia is the third largest volcanic province in the world. The gold miners were very often digging down through lava flows to get underneath to the ancient river beds containing gold concentrated in the ancient water courses. There's also much more gold buried deep in the ancient rivers underneath volcanics remaining where it was uneconomical to get to it than was ever recovered.
