Farrisbanen - med toget fra Larvik til Oklungen før nedleggelsen.

6.august 2018 gikk siste tog fra Larvik på den 136 år gamle strekningen langs Farris til Eidanger. Filmen viser den vakreste strekningen Larvik-Oklungen "meter for meter", filmet fra lokomotivet, langs banen og fra luften.

What a great record you have made of this line before closure. So sad to see it disappear into history though. Rather wish I'd made the effort to go and ride it before it closed.

Thanks a lot. The video was made the last couple of weeks before it closed down. Happy that I made it. A lot of people want the old track to be a bicycle trail, but the tunnels ar not so safe - yeat. @@vidarask Thanks. I agree, it would make a great cycle route, I'm sure it wouldn't take so much effort to make the tunnels safe. Would definitely attract tourists to the area.

I must admit to some confusion as Google maps train schedule shows there are trains from Eidsvoll to Skien via Larvik. Is the final section a bus or has the line been re-instated?

There is a new fast double track from Larvik to Porsgrunn (close to Skien) now. Not so beautiful, but its fast - as it seems that the time is all we care about now.
