Queue Jumper - you are NOT going to push in.

- BMW driver far too important to queue with the rest of us. Left filter lane for straight ahead ONLY traffic and the right filter lane for traffic turning right at the roundabout. FF to 40 seconds to skip past queuing traffic.
Thank you for all the comments, both for and against my actions.
Right hand lane queues frequently form at this roundabout and I witness queue jumping here regularly. There are numerous signs and road markings leading up to the roundabout to advise which lane you should use.
I may be wrong but I think this driver knew exactly what he was doing.
Thanks again for your feedback.
These comments make me proud. So many people who realize blocking like that is just counterproductive.
There is hope!
Good to see isn't it.
People like you are the problem. So weak and pathetic, it makes parasites like this even more bold and confident
blocking the entitled??? you are an idiot.
There's no rational reason against merging later, people just don't like someone else being in front of them, even if it doesn't inconvenience their own journey
You kept a very far distance from car in front of you, then...all of a sudden when cars start merging, you passive aggressively decide you want to be closer to the car in front of you all of a sudden.🤔😉

I drove for a living for several years. These things happen, they've happened to me, they've happened to other people watching this video. Sooner that get in an argument with someone (who might end up assaulting me), nine times out of ten I relented and let the impatient bastard through. There's an old adage; better safe than sorry, and I found that by applying this I felt safer. Also on occasions, the impatient one would actually thank me. Life is too short, and we've all heard of incidents where a little road rage has had more serious repercussions. People have actually lost their lives over silly litte incidents like this.
You’re right, I always let them in. A couple of years back I had to get my dog - who had been in an accident - to the vets asap for a blood transfusion. Local vets didn’t have the blood so they called a larger vets which was about 90mins away, which had the blood available. They said if I didn’t get there in under 3 hours my dog would be dead. I didn’t know the area too well and in a highly stressful situation must have got into the wrong lane about 8 times. You never know the other person’s predicament.
Btw, I did make it in time and my dog is still alive.
Both as bad as each other

Years ago I would have done the same and not let the tit in but at the grand age of 51 I can’t be arsed with hassle and just let the tit in. It’s just so not worth the agro tbh.

If you're unfamiliar with an area you can often find yourself in the wrong lane and have to change lanes: what may be seen as "queue jumping" by some may be nothing more than realising you have to turn right instead of left etc etc., and so switch lanes accordingly.
Exactly. Sad how this ends up as a miserable ego competition so frequently.

How many times have you been driving an unfamiliar road and found yourself in the wrong lane? You then have to filter into another lane and rely upon other drivers to help you out, hopefully you find a sensible and reasonable soul who will just allow you in, nothing is lost and its no big deal. This might or might not be the case here but either way is it worth creating a situation where it may result in collision, or road rage?

It takes a real knob head to ignore road signs, road markings, all the way along that road leading up to the roundabout. Giving in to bully's like you is never a good thing, if you have principles and respect for other people you wait your turn.
I've mellowed as I've got older. If this fella had indicated and held his place at the side waiting to be let in, I would have done.
How different things might be - every day - if people trying to travel faster didn't simply slow everyone down.
I'm positive our local rush hour traffic would move a lot faster if people just exercised some good manners and patience rather than fighting tooth and nail for every inch of road space just to gain a few seconds.
Or assume that because I let the car in front of them filter in, that means they can abuse my politeness and just force their way in too.

Any cops I have spoken to have the greatest concern and fear of the "right man". One who takes on a one-man crusade to enforce rules even to the risk of causing property damage or inciting a violent response. As a civilian you do not have the power or right to stop such motorists and are only being a nuisance by escalating such a situation and potentially causing an accident.
This situation could have been quickly and seemlessly avoided by letting the silver car into the lane. Any time I have been carried in a taxi or bus this is exactly what a professional driver would do, they would let the car in and carry on with their job. No childish blocking or one-upmanship.
Modern driving is full of people making mistakes and not paying attention. It is also full of badly maintained signs, complex traffic arrangements and people new to a route. Let the cops do their job and do your own job, driving from A to B as safely and confrontation-free as possible.
@@jgdooley2003 Yes, I totally agree. There's been enough debate about whether you were right or a tool, but let me say one thing: Your task when driving is to drive YOUR car. Not anyone else's. People will make mistakes and drive idiotically, and you have to be on the lookout, but you're not the Road Enforcement Authority. Your task is not to enforce the rules. Just focus on driving your car, not anyone else's. If they did something silly by accident, they'll be more careful in the future. If they did it because they're a tosser, take solace in the fact they'll crash into a brick wall at some point.
If you leave a huge gap, someone will fill it. No big deal if they do. It won't ruin you.
Someone else breaking traffic rules does not give another road user the right to punish the offender. I'm not defending the BMW driver, but what the driver recording the video did was stupid and dangerous to other road users.
This is terrible behaviour from both drivers in my opinion but to be fair, the BMW actually would've just slotted into that gap if the driver didn't speed up and close the gap to spite the BMW.
This isn't the way to drive, maybe he got the lane wrong, maybe he's new to the area, but what you clearly both fail to notice is that you've put the innocent by standing Citroën in a dangerous position while you position yourself to get in front of the BMW. Should be fines for both drivers but points/criminal charges for the driver driving aggressively deliberately pushing the BMW outside the queue.
Idiots.
Absolutely right.
I dont normally agree with this soprt thing, but in this instance you are right, he was practically inviting some other driver into that space, plus many times ive been new to an area and found out I was in the wrong lane, so your spot on
One tip: don't do an "idiot competition" because the most idiot is gonna win it .. is it worth it ?
Come to London. You'll be getting in road rage all day and probably end up stabbed if a car cutting in from wrong lane bothers you that much. It just doesn't matter!
Same here in South Africa, the taxi's are 1000% times worse....drive down one ways in the face of oncoming traffic, stop in the middle of the road, block intersections, cut in, basically do whatever the hell they want and are allowed to get away with it....absolute chaos!

Going on behind the wheel
The principle.
It doesn't matter if my workplace asks me to work a whole week for free, or to do "just five minutes" after my finishing time. If it's "just" five minutes, they can "just" pay me for it. If what they need is so important and is going to earn the company money, they can pay me for it. If not, I won't do it.
It doesn't matter if a robber comes into my house and only steals a tissue worth a few pence. They've come into my property and taken something without asking so I'll probably want to hit them with a hammer if I see them do it, even just a tissue.
Same with here. "BMW dude may have made his way past a lot of cars, but as long as he's not in front of ME I'm good".
If everyone had a stronger attitude like that, life's pisstakers like the BMW guy would have a less easy life and there'd be less of them.

Driving in Essex was fun. On April 19 1986 it was fun.
Especially in England where nearly every junction is a roundabout and it safe to do 180 deg turnarounds to get back on the right track if you find yourself in the wrong lane at the first time on a route.
Ireland is getting rid of many roundabouts and reverting to traffic lights and limited access junctions which prevent turning around in the event of being in the wrong lane on approach to a junction. This retarded approach makes 1-2 mile detours common

Ambivalent feelings; the BMW driver absolutely knew what he/she was doing. Emotions of the moment would cause most people to try to squeeze them out. As I've gotten wiser, I've begun to question whether it really matters -- does letting someone have their way in an inconsequential confrontation so important in the grand scheme of life? Does courtesy not matter when driving (wouldn't you let someone cut in front of you at the grocery store, perhaps one who only has a few items while you have a cart full?). Maybe it comes down to, did you teach him a lesson? Will he do it again despite getting shut off once? If so, don't you think that the odds will catch up with him and he will either get fined or wrecked? Either way, you took a chance on a fender bender (with all the attendant paperwork, repairs, and other time loss) which may or may not have been worth it.

This roundabout should be reconfigured so that the two lanes westbound carry through and merge into one lane after the southbound exit.
Yep. If there were two lanes to exit the roundabout (on the right as we see it) then it would make sense to use both lanes to enter and exit, just as you would when exiting at 12 o'clock on a "normal" (4 exit) roundabout. This only works where there are two lanes to enter and exit.

90% of the cars passing on the left at the start of this video will have pushed in further up, every junctions in the UK, every day
I hate when you're on the highway and one lane is closed up ahead for construction, and there's signs clearly marking so, but people zoom up the closed lane as fast and as far as possible, and then try to cut back in the open lane at the last second, which just causes the traffic to clog up and take way longer, and makes the responsible people who got over early in the correct lane have to sit there for WAY longer too, which then makes even more people want to get over and do the asshole cut over move, etc. I was literally sitting for an hour one time because I got over early, while I watched cars zoom by and get through in like 5 minutes for doing the wrong thing.
A little bit of courtesy goes a long way! What is wrong with people once they get behind the wheel?
You can say how it was the other person's fault all you want. But if you are lowering yourself to their level and not driving defensively, sooner or later you are going to get into an accident. Doesnt really matter whose at fault when you're dead!
exactly. And he'd soon cry victim if he was confronted.
If you spiral out like you're meant to he wouldn't have even made it past the junction to try it ;) that's how I handle queue jumpers... force them to the exit they chose, if they don't like it they can queue up like the rest of us... I've drove in places I don't know and still manage to get the right lane, they clearly think they're more important...
What if they selected the wrong lane? You got to think about that because there is already a queue before the road sign and maybe they were unfamiliar with the area. Everyone makes mistakes so why are you so mad. I would of just let him in.
You left far too big a gap once on the roundabout, he could of easily got in front of you but kept his car to the left probably waiting for you to let him in out of courtesy, which you punished him for...well done.

one i had this moment of true justice in traffic.
i was in a lane that goes straight and dude was behind me...dude went to right turn lane only and that lane ends at intersection, road goes from 3 lanes to two lanes,so my lane goes from middle lane to far right lane.
anyway he goes to right turn only lane skips fifty cars and tries to merge in...
then comes the justice. all of the drivers infront of me and behind me closed ranks...they got on everyones ass and didnt let him pass..guy was behind me before he did that..after that he was another 20cars behind me when he merged...
IA guy in a mustang did the same to me except that the other side of the intersection was a wide shoulder for trucks entering a commercial business with a barricade about 25 ft after the truck entrance. I didn't back off and the Mustang went through the barricade made of 3 8x8's supporting 3 2x12's. The Mustang still had dealer temp sale plates.

I can't stand that either those damn impatient line cutters ! Good for you !
the dash cam car almost crashed into the car in front as it was actively trying to block the bmw. this is aggressive and does not give consideration to other road users which I understand is a requirement of the highway code. therefore the dash cam vehicle is the one which is more at fault, as being in the wrong lane is an more of a mistake rather than aggressive driving. the bmw driver tried to get further on the inside when on the exit road which was also inconsiderate as he should have let the driver with the dash cam pass him at that point but it was probably a reaction to the aggressive driving of the dash cam car which could be considered as offensive or provoking a road rage type incident.
While I would not have squeezed the Bimmer out, I think your logic is flawed. The duty is always with an overtaking vehicle to make the pass safely and legally. Your logic would say that the first person to start a gunfight is not responsible for the outcome. But for insurance purposes, both would have been held responsible.
Used to love Harlow grew up there during the 80s and 90s we used to go to east wick farm shop you see there on the left for horse hay and feed to, the queue you see there is kinda why I no longer live in the area, chances are that prat wouldn’t of thanked you anyway if you’d held back which is probably the reason why many folk don’t let people in
Came across a good BMW driver followed her into Morrisons Car Park. We park up and I praised her she initially thought I was being funny but appreciated it when she realised I was being sincere.
Wow you did so well, but really was it all worth it ?
Long wait, but thank you, very satisfying.
what was the point of that?
I make that turn everyday and it's the same cars pulling the same sh@t evvvveeryday. Well done 👍
Road raging is foolish.
Sometimes, it pays to be the bigger person and just let them in. You know they've been a prick. They know it, too. It's just not worth the bump/road rage/hassle for the few seconds added to your travel time.
Who said he was que jumper he probably found himself in the wrong lane at the roundabout, who says he knows the route . Courtesy never killed anybody
Quell your anxiety ladies.
0:50 to 0:55 enough space and time for the BMW to push in...
Shit BMW driver😂. Why drive a BMW when u dont know how to.
Typical, prehistoric Buy My Wreck driver. KNOB.
Imagine posting this video to UA-cam believing you're displaying perfect driving. You made an innocuous situation FAR worse and more likely to cause an accident. Just let him in and move on.
One of my all time hates are queue jumpers. It happens all the time on highway feeder roads and just drives me crazy. They sometimes undertake up to thirty cars by coming up the wrong lane. 🤬🤬🤬
If this is the worst thing that happens to you , then I would just get on with my day and not make a drama out of nothing.
Drew Morgan well said mate
Not saying i wouldn't have done the same but it takes two to rumble...
Yes but if you wanted to be treated with respect then respect others. Today most drivers in South Africa just do not have respect for their fellow road users.
Agree. I don't have any use for queue jumpers, but I'm not going to start playing king of the castle with a ton of metal and plastic.
Sooner or later, the jerks who cut in will find another jerk to square off against. Hopefully, they will destroy each other.
KretinzUnited ...but only you to grumble
@@condorboss3339 Good attitude.
“You shall not pass” - Gandalf The grey
That might have been the situation with Kenneth Noye. Think on.
They were using all available road space, as you should’ve done. Merge in turn - look it up
@Edward Broomhead Wrong. The lane from which the queue jumper tried to merge in was clearly marked by straight arrows for a different direction of travel (High Wych) than the lane the camera driver was in (Harlow). Merge in turn (“zipper merge”) can only apply when multiple lanes all going the same direction get combined into fewer lanes. Using merge in turn here could have blocked any traffic trying to go the direction (High Wych) indicated by the straight arrows.
Queue jumping. Look it up!
Well he is in a BMW that gives them automatic rights....... Didn't you know
Lol 😂
Two wrongs don't make a right. Don't let your ego do the driving
What part of the highway code do you not like?
well done son.
we need to stand up to this blatant disregard for manners and etiquette.
you wouldn't push in at a supermarket, don't do it on the road.
deans0209 sadly I think you are wrong. I’m sure every time i have been waiting in line in a supermarket when they open another checkout, Suddenly everybody behind you thinks they get to go in front! As if you were waiting for that one special cashier!!
deans0209 I think the manners and etiquette are seriously missing not from the BMW but the guy videoing the incident, which he caused himself.
Slartibartfast ....you're funny
@@alanforester9620 Nah, thick!
Why on earth are people defending the BMW driver ! They tried forcing their way in. Being a pussy and letting him would still have been dangerous for the cars behind. Weak driving doesn’t mean good driving.
Always keep up with the car in front!
That makes you a tailgater.
@@tony_w839 And that does not mean an NFL pre-game party, either!
@@tony_w839 no it doesn’t. He said keep up with. Didn’t mention anything about staying too close.
Tbf usually the rule is outside lane 1st and 2nd exit, inside lane for any beyond that. There’s marking on the road indicating direction but if you don’t know the roads then you can be forgiven for getting it wrong there 🤷🏻♂️
Sometimes its because drivers suddenly realise they are in the wrong lane. Weve all done that. Theres not really a way to tell for sure. Although the way the silver car kept pushing, makes me think hes just a queue jumper.
risk damage to your car just to make a point? Brilliant!
You are a selfish person. Even if he was you were driving passive. The car would have disappeared in a few minutes anyways.
Outstanding move
its at moments like this you wished you had an old banger and smash into the BMW
