Love that when Aaron says its 5 minutes, it´s actually five minutes. Not like other chefs that says "quick preparation" and then spend hour on preparing ingredients alone.
@@budjy1 I bought pre-cooked rice few times, its edible, depending on brand can be even good. Basically you just open the bag, put it in microwave and heat it for two to three minutes, so you can make it with this and still take circa 5-10 minutes. Recipes like these are also great when you have leftover cooked rice and dont know what with it. Egg on rice or fried rice makes for good early dinner.

Thanks for the video! Nice and easy to follow. I just surprised my Chinese wife with the shrimp fried rice and she absolutely loved it! It came out a little more brown than the video, probably slightly too much soy. And we don't have fish sauce so I used a tiny splash of Chinese cooking wine, it which I have a lot, and it turned out great. A very happy wife, haha! ❤
I love your shirt. Its so positive. Edit: After cooking with your suggestions the whole family loved it! The fish sauce was great. Even ppl who hate fish didn't find a fishy taste just like you said.
Him: i recommend to use a long grain rice like jasmine, but you probably don’t have a ton of rice variations Me, who has jasmine rice as my main rice: ohohoho
Ya know, I was cooking myself a fish fillet but had no sides to go with it. I had some white rice on hand, as well as some egg and bacon, and thought “maybe this could be good” so into the pan with my fish oil and seasonings I added some soy sauce, teriyaki and the bacon with an egg, making some of the best fried rice I’ve ever had. It’s crazy that upon finding this video, I discovered I basically made fried rice exactly the way you’re supposed to. But that’s really all cooking is huh? Seeing some things you like and thinking to yourself “this’ll probably be good”
Korean fried rice is basically leftover food/unfinished food for later.. nothing like the fired rice youll would find from China or the south east asisns
I stumbled upon this video yesterday morning, and by evening I had cleaned a few years of dis-use from my wok and had eaten the best fried rice I have ever tasted! By now I've subscribed and watched about ten more of your videos! Thank you, Aaron for making fabulous simple and easy, and thank you Claire for being the most adorable test subject on youtube! Now, I've gotta run to the store and stock up on Spam and green onions!
I have a huge tub I mix Long Grain rice with Jasmine. YUMMY! It is almost impossible to find short grain rice here, even Asian store does not carry it :( But I have a bowl of yesterdays rice drying out in fridge for my fried rice. Evidently after watching you I have been making Korean fried rice for 30 years. For mine I mix eggs and rice, add in green onions, green/red peppers, sweet onion, and some times I chop up ham or sausage in it. Add a lot of pepper and some salt. I put sesame seed oil, garlic and butter in pan, then add eggs. I then take cheese and cover the eggs. Then start stirring it up, scramble. YUMMY! My husband adds salsa or hot sauce on top.
Hey - I just want to say that my 8 y/o granddaughter and I made this with veggies we had in the fridge like you said, and she chowed it right down! Thanks so much for posting!
Thanks from Romania 🇷🇴, Europe! Among other recipes like this, yours is #1, I keep it in the "useful" section🏆.Here we make ONLY boiled rice together with 2-3 vegetables and poultry.
Soo after watching this video over and over, I realized that you can adjust every recipe to include other ingredients to match your preference. I got comfortable enough doing these recipes now that I've basically started freestyling on the fried rice, and my nieces and nephew wants me to come over to make lunch for them now every weekend as a result 🤣
Your video was SOOOOOO MUCH FUN!! Loved listening to your voice and I love Clair too!!! What fun :-) I'm looking forward to trying Kimchi fried rice, Clair sold me on it.
My boyfriend and I have been experimenting with different fried rice recipes for months now. We came across your videos this weekend. Thank you for making the process so easy!
Thank you so much, Aaron and Claire! This was such an easy recipe to do and it's so delicious! I played around with some different ingredients and I now, with the oyster sauce, add a bit of soy sauce and a few drops of sesame oil, as well as a bit of brown sugar. I whisk those ingredients with the eggs and then add the rice as you instructed. I also add some minced garlic to the green onion oil right before I add the rice mixture, otherwise the garlic will burn. Just some suggestions for anyone else that wants to take your delicious and easy recipe further!
Claire for the win! She was so adorable to watch as the taste tester and critic. I learned a few things about fried rice. Thank you both. You have a new subscriber in me. Looking forward to more of your videos.
I love seeing all the success stories in the comments here of people who are getting into cooking because you make it so simple!! Stir frys and fried rice can be daunting for some people because there's so many ingredients and possible sauces, cooking time frames, etc. But the recipes are SO versatile & you break it down so well. I'm so glad people are being inspired to experiment and try new things (and succeeding at it!).
I've always added egg to the rice on the pan, and my day old Jasmine rice often comes out sticky when I fry it, so maybe mixing eggs first would help... 🤔 And definitely will try the potato trick!
It won't be sticky but the grains will harden overtime. What I always do is fry the scrambled egg first then set it aside and cook the fried rice, adding the cooked scrambled eggs a few seconds before finishing
@@lordrald09 For me the egg is just what you use to cool down your pan so it stops stinking up your house. If your pan is 375 - 400F with at least a spoon of oil, your egg will fry perfect in a single instant and cool your pan at the same time.
i think too many ESL (English as a Second Language) speakers are too self concious about their grammar, accent, and vocabulary. English is one of the few major languages in the world where there are more secondary speakers (people who learned English after a native language) then primary speakers (native english speakers) and its the worlds most widely spoken language, so there are so many people with accents that it doesnt matter. As far as grammar, english is a mess so few people notice or care about poor grammar and the same goes for vocabulary. I have a friend in his 90s who moved to the US from Germany during WW2, he's spoken mainly english for almost his entire life and _still_ has a thick german accent, so its not unusual
Greetings from New Zealand. Absolutely love your channel! I do a lot of Japanese cooking, but never bothered with Korean cooking because I thought it would be complex and expensive. Wow was I wrong! Your meals are so quick, easy, and really affordable to make, as so full of flavour. And they are very healthy as well. I probably do as much or more Korean cooking now, as Japanese cooking. What I found most interesting was that there is a lot of similarity between Japanese and Korean cooking and ingredients (except the chilies of course, which Japanese don't use), rather than similarity to Chinese. Your garlic fried rice, and kimchi stew are real favorites for me. Thank you 😊
Oh my, that first green onion rice is exactly how fried rice is in Chinese food in Ireland, where you can choose between this and white rice for your meal. I moved to America and overwhelmed by the fried rice, which is very brown and always has pork and it’s a meal! I can never have just green onion again. Green onion is king, I will have to try that first method at home 🌾

Are u still doing it a year later ?😅..its my new phrase 😅
The “don’t worry bout it” reminds me of Italian mafia “fuh-getta bout it”
"hey im walking over here"
haha same
I love the hand camera too when he’s talking... just like an Italian 😂😂
lol...i was thinking the same when he said it.
i love the way you say “don’t worry bout it” very reassuring lol
No one:
Aaron: DONT WORRY ABOUT IT
LMAO 😂
Dude I read this and he said it again at the same time lol
Don’t worry about it 😂😂😂
Thanks for the video! ❤
"Claire!"
"Huh?"
No doubt about it. Claire has the best job in this video. Amazing work, enjoyed!
I wonder if Claire's busy sometimes, and thinks - "What?!!" LOL
So now I know my mistake. When to add the egg.
But she has to earn it by doing the dishes
This guy really wants us to succeed, even his shirt says "I'm rooting for you".
He has been picked up by the Food Network for a new series called, "Go F Yourself."
8:00 I was today years old when I found out that nothing makes Aaron happier than cooking for his friends
Thats so wholesome :)
I love your shirt. Its so positive. Edit: After cooking with your suggestions the whole family loved it! The fish sauce was great. Even ppl who hate fish didn't find a fishy taste just like you said.
congrats for being the 1st youtuber to convince me to actually cook the recipe im watching :')
That's good to hear! Cheer for you! 🤞😁 Don't forget to check the written recipe for more details. 😊 aaronandclaire.com
update from 1 year later, my parents love your recipes they keep asking me to cook this for them when they are in the mood for some fried rice 😁😁
i love it when he calls "CLAIRE"
bruh i wish i was his roommate getting yelled at to come eat food.
@@eskitv1509 same bro!!!
😀😀😀
I really respect the way Claire gives such detailed feedback on each dish 🌵💗
"Don't worry about it."
Instantly stops worrying. 😊
Him: i recommend to use a long grain rice like jasmine, but you probably don’t have a ton of rice variations
Me, who has jasmine rice as my main rice: ohohoho
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Him saying "don't worry about it" makes me feel like everything is ok.
Same
Ya know, I was cooking myself a fish fillet but had no sides to go with it. Seeing some things you like and thinking to yourself “this’ll probably be good”
I like this comment
@@regretfulrat5787 I like your comment!
@@greatbriton8425 Thanks!
A Korean dude shaming me for not having bacon in my house...
I'm not crying. It's the onions.
That was funny.
“Don’t worry about it”, get it? 😂
Korean fried rice is basically leftover food/unfinished food for later.. nothing like the fired rice youll would find from China or the south east asisns
Gourmet hound?
Me not even having onions: *cri*
I stumbled upon this video yesterday morning, and by evening I had cleaned a few years of dis-use from my wok and had eaten the best fried rice I have ever tasted! By now I've subscribed and watched about ten more of your videos! Thank you, Aaron for making fabulous simple and easy, and thank you Claire for being the most adorable test subject on youtube! Now, I've gotta run to the store and stock up on Spam and green onions!
I think "don’t worry about it!" is becoming my favorite sentence in the whole universe because of you.
Don't worry about it!! 😍😍😍 More power to you!! 💪💪😘

This is consistently the most comforting and lovely channel.
"Don't worry about it" I need Aaron to be my life coach bro
Same. Makes me think I can do this and anything else!
@Penumbra It's Korean.
When he literally said *"bye bye lots of dishes"* okay I'm in the right cooking yt channel lol
The person doing dishes had long hair, Claire?
Idk why this was in my recommendations but I'm subscribing lmao
Same🤷😂😂😂

HAHAHA! I was just thinking that and then I saw your comment. I subbed too!
Literally just found this video and made the egg fried rice - it was the best fried rice I have ever made at home! Absolutely blown away. Thanks
“Don’t worry about, I’m here for you” is now what I’m telling everyone always about everything. Good video will make this rice.
I love this man. So upbeat and positive. He enjoys cooking and sharing his cooking. It’s clear to see.
I followed your recipe and shouted "Claire!!" when I was done, but she never showed!! how do I know if it's good or not?!
xD
hahahahhahah
lol
get a load of this simp
LOL...don’t worry about, it..errr Claire I mean, she’s probably full...LOL.
Claire:”I don’t want fishy smell in the house!”
Aaron: “Don’t worry about it!”😜
🤣🤣🤣
“Bye bye lots of dishes” thats all i needed to hear
Thanks from Romania 🇷🇴, Europe! Among other recipes like this, yours is #1, I keep it in the "useful" section🏆.Here we make ONLY boiled rice together with 2-3 vegetables and poultry.
Soo after watching this video over and over, I realized that you can adjust every recipe to include other ingredients to match your preference. I got comfortable enough doing these recipes now that I've basically started freestyling on the fried rice, and my nieces and nephew wants me to come over to make lunch for them now every weekend as a result 🤣
This was a complete professional tutorial. Now, i feel like a pro!
Your video was SOOOOOO MUCH FUN!! Loved listening to your voice and I love Clair too!!! What fun :-) I'm looking forward to trying Kimchi fried rice, Clair sold me on it.
@Testsi : Then you're a lousy cook, so thank you for not inviting me to one of your crap meals.
Seriously, with pre cooked rice? it´s not professional.
I'm here for yoy guys...
wow you must be a big fan of the colonels secret recipe. im cool with it.
"Bye Bye" lots of dishes. This guy knows how I like to cook.
My boyfriend and I have been experimenting with different fried rice recipes for months now. We came across your videos this weekend. Thank you for making the process so easy!
“Don’t worry about it” why is that so comforting
I'm with Claire, I love sunny side up eggs on my rice! Breaking the yolk in just makes it taste even better!! ❤
Tell me about it! 🤤🤤🤤
Eveyone needs a Claire in their life
😍😍😍
Thank you so much, Aaron and Claire! This was such an easy recipe to do and it's so delicious! I played around with some different ingredients and I now, with the oyster sauce, add a bit of soy sauce and a few drops of sesame oil, as well as a bit of brown sugar. I whisk those ingredients with the eggs and then add the rice as you instructed. I also add some minced garlic to the green onion oil right before I add the rice mixture, otherwise the garlic will burn. Just some suggestions for anyone else that wants to take your delicious and easy recipe further!
It’s such a kick to hear Aaron echo, “Claire?” And her sweet and appreciative “Mmmms,” are adorable. I love you two!
My favorite of the show too.
This guy gotta make a “don’t worry about it” shirt.
I would buy one.
He's apparently from the Brooklyn side of Korea.
Koreans with a Bronx accent
just made the first one with my little sister! we are both still new to cooking and we were so happy how our fried rice turned out! thanks a bunch!
Cooking with julia
So I worked for years in the cooking industry and I love these kind of videos because there's always something new to learn.
Aaron didn’t use a colander to drain the rice. we are good
🤣🤣🤣
Haiyaaaaaaaa.... don’t use colander. Colander is bad.
Uncle Roger would be so proud.
Pre cooked rice 💀
Wait why?!?!
Mixing the rice with the pre-cooked eggs is a game changer. Love it.
I loved the time-lapsed dishwashing at the end! Makes it way more real. 😝
I've always added egg to the rice on the pan, and my day old Jasmine rice often comes out sticky when I fry it, so maybe mixing eggs first would help... 🤔 And definitely will try the potato trick!
Hope it turns out great next time!!! 🤞🤞🥰
It won't be sticky but the grains will harden overtime. What I always do is fry the scrambled egg first then set it aside and cook the fried rice, adding the cooked scrambled eggs a few seconds before finishing
Uncle Roger will growl you because you cooked the spring onion first lol Spring Onion is garnish ONLY 😂😂😂
@@lordrald09 For me the egg is just what you use to cool down your pan so it stops stinking up your house. If your pan is 375 - 400F with at least a spoon of oil, your egg will fry perfect in a single instant and cool your pan at the same time.
You gotta use day old refrigerated rice. It shouldn't come out sticky, i cant do the egg coat, I like my eggs lightly marbled not scrambled
Am i the only one who finds their accent and sometimes missgrammar charming. And I love how nice and polite they are.
them people
Your grammar ain't perfect? Donworryboutid!
I like nice people;) ☆ ..happy n upbeat souls they are♡~>
i think too many ESL (English as a Second Language) speakers are too self concious about their grammar, accent, and vocabulary.
I love how simple this is, and your commentary is an extra treat! Thank you!
Thank you 😊
His shirt says “I’m rooting for you” I’m gonna cry 🥺
I can sub for Claire...as a taste tester...😋
I'm rooting for you too Jessica Lovewell!
You called?
@@gonnacry442 no, she aint
Oh my, that first green onion rice is exactly how fried rice is in Chinese food in Ireland, where you can choose between this and white rice for your meal. I moved to America and overwhelmed by the fried rice, which is very brown and always has pork and it’s a meal! I can never have just green onion again. Green onion is king, I will have to try that first method at home 🌾
You have just fixed every fried rice problem I ever had! Thanks so much.
