@@Red-Magic sameee, its sucha great game, thankfully I still have the rest of the DLC to finish (blind) and then the whole game is done, unless my memory manages to delete all of the outerwilds information which is unfortunately unlikely even with this poor memory of mine lol
Solanum's piano theme has always made this song for me. The nomai to me represent like an older sibling to the hearthians who guides the way for them. A species so advanced that they just explore and share their findings with eachother to pass the time above war, above directly interfering just observing. The embodiment of curiosity in the game
Their part in the song reflects that relationship perfectly. It's a bit "smarter" and more complicated as an extra layer of harmony, complimenting and supporting the Hearthian's harmony while propelling the whole song into a deeper level of complexity and beauty. Just like how the Hearthians share the Nomai's curiousity, perhaps BECAUSE of the Nomai and their ruins, and the Nomai learnings support the Outer Wilds Ventures to discovering incredible truths of the world that they never would have found without them. The piano track has a hint of sadness because the Nomai are gone, but that does not stop their beautiful story from making our own story more wonderful than before.
The piano was my favorite part before the dlc, but when the prisoner’s theremin was added, it became my favorite. It sounds like they’re sorry and regretful for what their species had done, but thankful in the end that they got to see their actions have an effect. The theme feels sad and depressive; mourning over the loss of their homeworld, but it then raises in tone giving a small bright feeling to it like there is some hope in the end.

But unless they are collapsed by an observer, they will never be more than possibilities” -Solanum I’m so glad to have participated in this absolutely incredible community collaboration! And finally, it's personality and meaning (to me). When I get stressed, my head is incoherent with a bunch of scary abstract nightmares in my head, I also had a bit of an anxiety problem which meshed well with incoherent spooks. The finale captured this well for me, Floating past the angler fish with the warped core in my hand making this my last loop was pretty crazy but I made it to the vessel. Once I got in the vessel I knew to put the warped core in and put in the coordinates, but I almost thought I needed to look up the coordinates due to forgetting, and the coordinates where shown on the bottom left of my screen. I made it to the eye of the universe and it felt isolating being in this place I've never been to before this whole game, but I warped onto the surface. I just start walking forward and even pull out my signalscope to find a spot I can go to but all I pick up is a unknown signal far away, and I walk towards it. The closer I get lightning nearby is making my controller rumble and I continue forwards hoping not to be struck. I eventually make it to a hole in the sky, I hop in. It's just the museum but everything is just...silent, for once in the game I loved it's sound design for it's just...gone. I hate feeling alone or isolated but I pushed through to read each description for the items in the museum, and I kind of start to understand what the eye might be trying to do. So I go to the top of the museum and I'm given the option to look at the map, and when I click...I'm shown the infiniteness of the setting I'm entering. I notice I can float to the mass of stars so I do so and land, I realise that those stars are all exploding and it's so pretty, and take out my signalscope to look for somewhere to go to. surrounded by a bunch of trees I just walk, until there are no trees except for one, I look around and the tree is suddenly a shard, then I hear someone is breathing, not music, nor a melody, heavy breathing. when I walk to it I pause my game in astonishment, that is me. I get what the eye is doing now. And I'm sent to a place with only a tree, and learning from the cave shard, I turn off my light. And turn it back on and off until the tree was nothing more than a campfire...a campfire? I look around with my signalscope and Esker's chair appears behind me, I look away and look back with trees surrounding me Esker is in his chair, I speak to him... "Do you hear music?" I quickly get out the signalscope and realize that there's music again! I go to Riebeck first, his banjo is surrounded in Nomai ruins and I'm unable to reach it so I just turn my flashlight on and off a bunch...because nothing will get me in the dark and the ruins crumble each bit and I grab Riebecks banjo. Next I head to Chert and there are a BUNCH OF EYES- ...They're suns. Chert likes looking out to the universe. I see Chert's drums float in front of a sun and I gather them. Next I walk to Feldspar, and there's an angler fish JUMPSCARE! but after I shuffled only a little bit...I hold still, and continue to Feldspar and find his harmonica surrounded by jellyfish. Now I go to Gabbro and see the riddle on the trees, I follow them with my signalscope and eventually go up a tree to find Gabbro's flute. Now, that's all of the travelers you meet. but what is that piano noise? I head towards it and a circle of Nomai skeletons are surrounding a stump with a small light above it, confused on what to do here I stand on the log, look at the other Nomai, look up again and the Nomai skeletons are stacking on top of each other??? oh I turn on and off the light until there's a tall stack of Nomai and...Solanum's shuttle from the quantum moon is here. I get in and launch the shuttle, listening to the piano on my signalscope. And once I meet the light...a Nomai mask is there...floating...Solanum is the piano, Solanum gets to join the campfire. When I walk back, everyone is there. I get to tell each traveler to play. I light a marshmallow and have a snack, while an orb forms over the campfire. once the orb forms, I speak to each of the travelers and jump into the orb. Everyone and everything zooms away until I'm in darkness. Then a giant version of the orb appears. Then it explodes. Then there is light. Outer wilds is now my favorite video game due to it showing the potential of what an indie game can do, and fitting me and everything I love so well. (P.s. sorry if it's messy I am very tired) edit: I just realized I called the Nomai "Zonai" for majority of this. sorry! (it's edited to say Nomai now)

Just one perspective of many... But that's the point after all. My audio tech side is floored by just how different but the same the song is with different people. It truly shows the story in a way none can fully see. Relationships and connections change how everything looks and behaves. Excuse the poetic license, but for us to be so foolish to declare we can see all of reality is the height of idiocy. It is through a collection of perspectives do we see that which is. However those perspectives will then color that which you see in the end. The question is, what is reality? As someone that is a man of faith, I say this: reality is what is, but we will never see all of it. God gave us compassion for that reason, to fill in the failures of our own perspectives. So seek truth. Seek each other. And seek the campfire, where songs and tales may be spun.
I'm absolutely flabbergasted that someone found exactly how to play the prisoner's instrument with an empty glass bottle on a guitar. So alien sounding it's incredible.
Ayy, thank you! I was actually kinda insecure about my choice before the video released, thinking that people would see that and find it silly 😅 especially with so many people announcing on the Reddit they would play all kinds of cool instruments, like cello, kalimba, harmonica, etc. I'm so glad to find out people liked it, it was an honor to play alongside so many talented people! 😁
When this tribute came out, I was going through changes that made me hopeful and excited for what the future would bring. Even though it's only been 3 months since then, things changed again and I now need to learn to let go of those expectations, but welcome what comes next. "It's different than I envisioned. Whatever happens next, I do not think it is to be feared."
I just love that approaching the end of the video all the character refs just vanish, as if it was indicating that now they were only themselves playing, not the said characters
I was already happy to be a part of this project, but I'm even more happy of the result! Thank you very much Mallow and EternumTitan for your hard work to put everyone together and create this very unique cover! The shifts during the encore are very nice.
This is a truly beautiful testament to the way this game is so much more than a game - it's an experience that brings people together and has built an entire community around love, acceptance, and celebrating the unique and beautiful things about each and every one of us. Thank you all, to the organizers and to the musicians, for creating this work of art that so beautifully captures both our game AND our community. I truly love you all. ❤️
Listening to this song while reading the comments made me very happy. Whenever I feel sad, I will point my signalscope to this video to know that I am not alone. Thank you everyone

It's a stunning experience that I will not forget. Thank you all for this !
Actually sobbing, thank you all so much for your efforts in creating such a meaningful tribute. Beautiful and humbling to see how many travelers we have in this solar system. You are all the greatest.
Absolutely fantastic guys! The sense of community has given me such a happy and warm feeling! Just what I and all others need in the world right now 🥰😄🥰 I actually added my own version of Riebecks banjo in the reddit today! I hope you all enjoy it 😊
This is lovely and wonderful and I am so glad y'all did this. Thank you to the beautiful music and the reminder of how it felt to play (and beat) Outer Wilds. We're all in this together, we're all going to the same end.
I think there's something profound - almost radical, even - about the most important song in the universe not being some grand orchestrated piece, an operatic epic or even grandiose in any way. It's just a few friends, sitting around a campfire, playing for an audience of themselves and the trees- no complicated composition necessary, the instruments interchangeable, the song itself malleable enough to adapt to the people who are present or absent for its various parts. The performances are amateur, they're constantly out of sync or playing at lightly different speeds, and there's no plan at all. And that's what makes it so special. Because the song isn't important because of the technical prowess, the composition, or any of those other things. It's important because of the people you're playing it with.
I didnt know I needed this today, but it turns out I really did. How beautiful it is to see this community come together with thier amazing talents as a tribute to one of the most beautifully haunting games of all time.
It seems, no matter how far apart each traveler may be, between space or time, species, instrument, we're all playing the same tune. It's simply a matter of listening for it.

"Do you hear music?"
I quickly get out the signalscope and realize that there's music again!
I head towards it and a circle of Nomai skeletons are surrounding a stump with a small light above it, confused on what to do here I stand on the log, look at the other Nomai, look up again and the Nomai skeletons are stacking on top of each other???
oh
I turn on and off the light until there's a tall stack of Nomai and...Solanum's shuttle from the quantum moon is here.
(P.s. sorry if it's messy I am very tired)
edit: I just realized I called the Nomai "Zonai" for majority of this. sorry! (it's edited to say Nomai now)
"I think I learned a lot by the end of everything."
Literally sobbing rn. So beautiful

Merci merci c'est magnifique et la musique meme avec la barrière de la langue est universelle
This is very Lovely! ❤ Edit: It's ok to cry in a good way, my god well played all!
This is great, I wish I could've been a part of it ! The only possible way to improve this tribute would be to make it a 22 minutes loop 😊
The universe is, and we are.
I'm crying, you are crying, we all are crying.
Thanks Outer Wilds
I really love the prisoner's theme, so wonderfull. The final part make me dream
J'ai pleuré.
I’m listening to this in the train on my way to work. I feel peacefull and free! Damn life is good✌️
Amazing job! I can't believe I missed it on reddit... otherwise I would've joined you as one of the Riebecks!
This made me cry in a good way.
Incredible... brought a tear to my eye...
Not me trying to figure out the dlc before watching this video 😭
Listening to this song while reading the comments made me very happy.
Whenever I feel sad, I will point my signalscope to this video to know that I am not alone. Thank you everyone
Haven't played the game in 1.5 years to forget it for a replay. Then videos like this one pop up. God damn people. I unfortunatly don't know a single one of you, but you managed to make be nearly sob right now. Tears were rolling. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
This is the part of humanity that I stay for. People who appreciate an experience so much that it brings them together to create.
Thank you for this.
Aww Ahh Aaa I love this so much lol!
This goes straight up as one of the best things I've ever listened to and watched. Seeing all those different people come in and leave the spot for others afterwards to play this already amazing music brings it to a whole new level.
Just what I and all others need in the world right now 🥰😄🥰
I actually added my own version of Riebecks banjo in the reddit today! I hope you all enjoy it 😊
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for this. ❤
...How beautiful. It's different than I'd envisioned.
Whatever comes next, I do not think it is to be feared.
This turned out so beautiful. Thank you both for putting it together, and I was so happy to participate!
The travelers song while it may not be perfect I feel is ment to be passed on and added to so that it never fully ends and is carried on.
Woo SolidSizzle on the ewi solo doing gabbro's part! Love that thing
Best community ever..
damn this is beautiful, making me cry
This is lovely and wonderful and I am so glad y'all did this. Thank you to the beautiful music and the reminder of how it felt to play (and beat) Outer Wilds. We're all in this together, we're all going to the same end.
Hope the devs see this
My feelings get so wrecked every time I hear this song. This collaboration is really heartwarming ::)
Omg I love this community. Thanks you all. Thanks you Outer Wilds, man I love this game
This is a wonderful cooperation! You did a well job in casting the beauty of the instrument synchronization out for delight of our ears!
Beautiful, really captured the spirit of the game.
one of the most beautiful tributes to the game i’ve seen. everyone here together, playing this song
This was such a beautiful tribute, made my night. I know I'll be coming back and watching this often.
This is great, so glad to have participated! #Violagang
and in classic outerwilds fashion, this beautiful cover is a spoiler hehe.
So nice ! Like the game, the music is listened through places !
Это невероятно круто. Я чуть не пустил слезу😢
