- We are putting this GOLD LEAF MARKER to the TEST today! Let's push the limits and do a full blown illustration with Copic markers, and see what happens when we overlay gold leaf marker ink on top! Will it be a flop, or will it enhance our drawing?!

You can buy a gold sharpie and it has the same results as the gold leaf marker

Not entirely. The good sharpie is good liquid. That market is actual liquid good leaf.
It may not layer as well and may feather out but it’s definitely not a bad option!
I’ve had all the metallic sharpies at some point but it’s not that shiny. Gold leaf pens are meant to look more like gold jewelry kind of shine so there is a difference
Smacks, I know it's difficult to see on camera, but they are not the same results at all. They handle different, they smell different and they look very different. A gold sharpie is shiny, but nowhere near gold leaf shiny. This marker stinks, need prepping and may leak, but it is the closest I've found to gold leaf. Sharpie is a good option only if you don't care that much about how golden your drawings are.
*A* movie that I can watch over and over again that makes me cry? ONE? Nah, I cry at everything. I guess Titanic makes me cry the most. Especially the part where the old couple is cuddling in the bed as the water is rising up around them, and the mom is reading to her children to keep them calm. Ugh. 😭😭😭
I did like it Mira, very good drawing and colorful. I really enjoy your channel. The movie that I always cry with is The Wizard of Oz, we always watched when we were little with our Nana. When I see it now it reminds me of her, she passed away when I was 11 and now at the age of 62 I still cry happy tears.

Question of the day: I have never found a film that I can watch more than once without it being boring, I have a really good memory, so I remember all of the lines after watching one time😅
But I actually cry on every movie, either by laughter or by sadness (most by sadness, don’t like comedy as much, because I set myself in the situation, and it just becomes awkward)

I would love it if you could make some video tutorials about how to draw portraits, proportions and how to create photorealism. It would be so cool to learn how to do that!
As I saw this video I squinted at the thumbnail. And I came to the realization that I have the same pen. 😂😂 so I pulled it out of my liners and pens drawer of my art materials storage drawers, grabbed my mixed media sketchbook, and sketched during the whole video, I’ll post the sketch onto my story so you can see it. It’s honestly so much fun to use the same materials along with other people! And yes that pen is absolutely amazing 💜💜 I absolutely love it for when I need a little pop in my illustrations. Did you know it also works on other surfaces? I’ve used it to spruce up a workout sweater of mine!

There are a few movies I truly enjoy over and over again 'For Love of the Game" and "Stranger than Fiction" are two that bring those welling up feelings every time! Mostly for opportunities lost or paths not taken. Remembrances of our own past bringing up memories we have attached to these films.

Finished drawing is wonderful! Love the masking. As for gold leaf markers... nope. I can't use them because they don't reproduce well in publications. In printing, I have to request a special 4th color for metallics, which gets expensive and it never comes through 100%, so you can see overlap, if the printer isn't careful! Keep up the awesome work. Still new to you and your channel, but enjoying a lot! Cheers! :) (ps. my daughter likes your nails! lol!)

What makes me cry every time? Lord of the Rings: Return of the King... easily to most tear-jerking film for me due to multiple reasons... the score is just wonderful (all of the LOTR films have great scores) and the Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies...not my favorite, but still tears are cued. Also, Hunchback of Notre Dame with such real themes and again, an incredible soundtrack...

I’m all for this. I really want that marker now-it’s fancy. I do also go for certain colors for mediums. I’m loving the color combo on your illustration too! Either I’m focusing on random phrases but the husband comment somehow caught me off guard and I had a moment of just “awing how sweet I didn’t know that and really sweet you let him use your space.” 🤣 I actually haven’t seen Christopher Robin. As far as go to colors, at the moment I’m loving doing pieces that incorporate a gradient of 80s purple to magenta to goldenrod, and sometimes I add in a little bright orange.

The skin on the face is beautifully blended, I've never quite seen that effect done so well with the shading/highlight.

I really love the Krylon gold leafing marker. I’ve tried so many gold paints, inks and pens and in my opinion it’s the best. Wonder how you would like it compared to this. It’s expensive. But sooo worth it!

If you're ever worried about the Washi tape not peeling off you can always hit it with a hair dryer/low heat gun. It heats the glue up and makes it easier to peel off!

@@MiraByler you're welcome! I was using masking tape for watercolors and blow drying to make it go faster and the tape started to peel up at the corners where it wasn't stuck on as much. That trick has saved my life a few times lol.

The Marvy Decocolor has a very obvious smell, so use these with ventilation. They're much louder than Sakura Pen-Touch but the color payoff (on the gold especially) is much better
