Paletteful Packs is absolutely the best art subscription box out there. I do enjoy unboxing videos for sure, especially when the boxes have cool, unique, quality products.
Loved your happy jelly.I too never get tired of watching underwater documentaries showing corals, fish, cleaning stations and those weird deep sea critters. Thanks for this little moment of Byler joy😀
Welcome to the Paletteful Packs family - It was a double surprise for me to do my unboxing video this month! - stop by to see what I mean! Also, I already owned a few of these marabu aqua inks, and I can confidently say that these are super fun to play with!
This box is awesome! After seeing your video, I ordered this box for myself! Sure it's a few months late, but it's never too late to use new art products! Thanks Mira!
This video was one of your best. This particular subscription box interests me because it most often has items I don’t already own. I too enjoy ocean documentaries and I like how you educated and entertained us at the same time. The picture came out awesome. I was a tad doubtful at first, I shamefully admit. I should know better than to doubt you ever!
So cool! Another Mira Byler video! I bought a set of Windsor Newton inks, black, white, gold, silver and brown but I have not gotten any use out of them yet! Marabou makes some water soluble crayons and I have found them to be a poor knock off of the caran’ dache neocolors! You did a wonderful job with your subscription box, this is why people subscribe right? Try new weird stuff! I like your jellyfish and I do not buy a lot of single coloring pages, but what could it hurt? Rin, Waffles has been posting some of her lineart for down loading and sharing for coloring, you might check her process out. I do not know if it is easier or not. Have a lovely weekend!
Once while researching jellyfish I drew this sketch of a jellyfish with a normal office but blue. And you were the first art UA-cam I ever watched and you helped inspire me to take art as something more seriously and I been practicing more. I also think you should make jellyfish coloring page
I have the Scrawlerbox subscription but i've been thinking of switching to Paletteful Packs because I feel like the quality of the supplies is better but also it's not just pens and charcoal, they do paint in their boxes which I would want to experiment with more. I love your little jelly fish, he's so cute and happy!
Kalyn Girdley maybe you SHOULD switch :-) Try is out for a month. You can use FIRSTMONTH10 for 10% off the first month of a month-to-month subscription.
@@PalettefulPacks I actually did cancel my subscription with Scrawlerbox and I was planning to subscribe to your box. However, due to some financial issues I'm not going to be able to now. I'm pretty disappointed too because I've been LOVING all the things I've been seeing in your boxes! Hopefully someday I'll be able to get one. Thank you so much for the opportunity of the discount code!
I love art mail. It's my birthday all over again. I don't get paletteful packs, but I will when I'm back in the states. Scrawlr box is my current one. Look at all those wonderful inks. Your jellyfish is too cute for words. Beautiful. I have never seen those inks. I do have some windsor and newton ones.
Oooo, I like that outlining blurbs technique. And I have to echo the sentiment of those who applauded you for bringing up the important subject of refusing plastic. There's SO much of it and almost none of it is getting recycled, it's just piling up everywhere. I have decided to try to implement these concepts in my art too. No more nylon bristle brushes for example... ♥♥
@@MiraByler I have a Kolinsky sable for inking and watercolor. It's a dream to work with. I see lots of people using the Black Velvet ones and I realllllly want to try those too. I also need to find a couple for the oils my hubby got me for the holidays that I'm both excited and a teensy bit anxious to dive into. I'd like to hear your opinion about natural bristles...😻
I've been wanting to paint a really beautiful image of a jellyfish for awhile. I had started working on it a few days ago, but my Arthritis is attacking with a vengence. :S
Question of the Day Answer: I've never heard of them either nor have I ever used any kind of inks to draw or paint with. 😮 I love this painting!! You've inspired me to go draw a jellyfish with my Prismacolor pencils and toned paper!! 👩🏻🎨 Yes you need to make this a coloring page!!!! 🖍
Love the art work and good for you trying to make less waste I love hearing stuff like that especially from someone that can potentially reach a lot of people to make a change
I had been agonizing for like 2 years whether or not to get the Sketchbox i finally bit the bullet on my birthday and got a years sub! I am so super excited... I think i want the Paletteful one as well =D.. He came out so super cute!
I would love it as a colouring page. I do a lot of colouring myself. I've never got an art subscription box but I've always wanted to, I've been thinking about getting a scrawlr subscription box for a while but I'm still undecided, its the cheapest subscription box I've found.
Cheryl Green scrawlr is a UK based subscription box so if you live in the US than you have to pay shipping. If you live in the UK than it is cheapest one
Cheryl Green I know a lot of artists who would recommend scralr and because of its price you should get it. At least a 3 month subscription to try it out.
I love how that turned out! And no I would not touch a jellyfish on purpose. I have been stun a few times and it is not fun at all. I am not sure what’s worst, the sting or the weird remedies they give you for the pain. 😂
Possibly useful fact about jellyfish: the tentacles that sting contain nematocysts. If you're stung by these you should pour vinegar on the sting, because it causes the nematocysts to become inactive. Beautiful artwork, thank you for sharing your gift with us. 💙
I’ve never seen their watercolor inks before but I have some of their marbling inks, acrylic sprays and a few watercolor crayon sticks. They came to a hands on demo day at a local art store a couple of years ago. They’re based in Germany I think and they’re really trying to build their brand.
oh my gosh! miri this look's so good! i wish i could try a art box but i cant! i love how sweet you are! and i subscribed the moment i clicked on your first video i watched
I enjoyed this video. I also get art subscription boxes including the paletteful pack. I had received two of those watercolor inks from a different subscription box. I don't remember which one. I like your picture. Have a wonderful day.
I do art subscription boxes. Right now it's Sketchbox and Scrawlrbox. Last year it was these two plus Paletteful Packs, Smart Art Box and Art Snacks. I had to cancel these three because I had a stroke and have medical bills to pay for. And right now I'm also unable to draw because my right side was affected and I'm right handed. So I still get two subscription boxes but I'm thinking of canceling them as well. I'm no longer drawing and my muse has left me. So I'm really wasting my money right now getting art boxes I can no longer use. And I have art supplies that are going to waste. Unfortunately none of my friends draw so I'm going to have to donate to a thrift store. Some one will get some use out of them. I'm just not that good with my left hand and I just don't want to draw any more. However, I do enjoy the art of other artists. I think your jellyfish should be a coloring page.
I am artist as well... And I'm realllllly trying to avoid plastic in art supplies? 🙈 Here are some ways I've reduced my plastic use: 1. Instead of using a plastic palette use a ceramic/steel palette. (For watercolour) 2. Buy woodless pencils. 3. If you use Mechanical pencils, try buying metal ones. They will last longer. Please add more if you have any more... Would loooove to know more.
Hi Mira 😊 I've not heard or used those Watercolors - they look okay but from here, the neat ones for me look a bit dull and powdery....... Could just be me though, they look a bit better once water is added I've used Pebeo watercolor inks 😊 That's a lovely Jellyfish you created 😊

I would really love to do art boxes opening videos too >< but living in Australia really sucks. By the time they come could be 3 months later... Love your video as always!
Jin Amber it is longer than shipping in the USA but should only take 2-3 weeks. Try us out for a month. You can use FIRSTMONTH10 for 10% off the first month of a month-to-month subscription. :-)
I got the same box and I didn’t notice they were lightfast. I wonder how they compare with ph martins hydrus liquid watercolors, which are also lightfast. Like I wonder if there is any difference between watercolor ink and liquid watercolors?
Mira Byler I looked around a bit and they are both pigment based (rather than dye based) which is probably why they can claim to be lightfast. I have a few hydrus colors and I think they are a bit more pigmented, but for the difference in cost between the two I don’t think it’s significant enough to matter.
DUDE WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU PUT THE SUPPLIES IN THE THUMBNAIL?!?!? That is so seriously RUDE. I love packages too and Paletteful Packs is one of my favorites to get.
