South China Sea is a former trade route. It is mainly useful for fishery resources and many fossil fuels including natural gas and oil. It was used many times, once by the British Empire to transport narcotics to the Qing Dynasty on 1840's and a route to Hong Kong aswell.

The water that's there now is legally owned by few other neighboring nations -- China is also ignoring that fact. It's illegal to take over someone's property -- may it be water territory or land belonging to others. SCS is only a descriptive name of a certain place or location in Navigators term but not ownership of a certain place. SCS should only be up to the both end of the Coast of China perpendicularly but neither to exceed to another Coast.

The previous corrupt administrations are the reason for this loss of territory. Because of them we were not able to develop and strong military. International court defined maritime zones but that didn’t stop the Chinese and we can’t solely rely on USA to defend it for us, it’s pathetic. The only guarantee we can make ourselves is to establish a strong military presence and FAST! Although we’re currently acquiring more for our military, EVEN MORE is still needed. Now is the time for Filipinos to stand firm and unite for an ultimate cause. Progress must happen faster economically and militarily NOW... in fact it should’ve happened YESTERDAY. Securing the territory and acquiring its resources would be the turn of the century for the Philippines. We are cornered and now we must FIGHT.
