Ultimately I'm team Caldera. The Susvaras are in many ways more capable but the Calderas are plenty revealing and have more meat on the bone. Personal taste, your milage may vary.
@@SineCraftAudio Hmm. I just came from an LCD 4 which was amazing, but I thought were a bit mid forward with their newer pads. Is the Caldera also mid forward?
I try to keep the core collection pretty slim (it has gotten pretty out of control at times). I'm always driving toward one system to listen to the majority of the time (which I have now). I tend to keep an estate around (I'll share the latest soon), I need to let go of the Susvara but it's been a reference for so long, the HE6 sticks around, LSA HP-2 (which I should probably swap for another close back dynamic), and then some odds and ends.
I like weight and body and appreciate impactful acceleration but really value a "natural" presentation. The Utopia are great but a bit more energetic and angular over the Caldera.
@@SineCraftAudio Gotcha, thanks. Would you say that the Caldera is successful at being a middle ground between the Utopia's energetic presentation and the Hifiman headphones' more laid-back/soft approach? If so, this would be very interesting (I've only briefly heard the Caldera and wasn't able to plug it into the kind of gear that I would want to evaluate it with). Also, what do you mean by "angular"? As in "incisive"? Cheers
Thank you for this, please don’t apologise for what you enjoy. You have a great setup, happy listening
Really love the Caldera (and also enjoy it best with the suede pads) - very cool to see it end up in your 'endgame' system.
Fantastic audio gears,thanks 👍🎶🤚…..
Any chance you could go further upstream starting at the wall? Power Conditioner? Source (PC/Streamer/Network player/CD player)?
Sure, but it gets less exciting ;)
Trip light 14AWG power cables, Furman power conditioner, Mac connected via USB to my DAC.
Had to go all out for the 100th episode, right?
That adapter you used to adjust Caldera to a 3.5, what is it? That'd check a lot of boxes for me.

@@SineCraftAudio Thank you.
Did you prefer the Calderas over the Susvara? I'm in the market for one of these but I cant choose.

Curious what other headphones you have in your collection?

If meaty, impactful sound is your thing, I'm wondering what makes the Caldera a better choice for you over the Utopia?
