Make Your Mgb Stop On A Dime With This Easy Rear Disk Brake Conversion!

Today im converting my factory rear axle to disk brakes. in a future video i will adress adjusting the cable lengths for the ebrake and doing the hydraulics.

Good video, Got in yesterday from a 1300 mile ride in the ozarks with Charlie. Several cars had the rear discs. Charlie is sending me the cads shortly ,can't wait to do the conversion.

thanks! it will be a pretty good upgrade over drums. and it has less rotating mass too so in theory a bit quicker in a line

the SE R spec V uses different rear calipers from the base model, plus within the Spec cars, they offered larger stock or optional Bembro. Rock Auto should probably be able to sort it out for a part number and your local (friendly??) salvage yard ought to be able to provide the Hollander interchange info to figure out what they have in stock.

that make sence i think the base model has drum brakes anyways at least the ones that were delivered to my area did.

the bulk of this one was filmed on my older sony actioncam. the intro where im in the red shirt however was filmed on my new hero 8 black still in 1080p but moving forwards ill be trying to do my filming in 4k except for slo mo shots the hero 8 will film at 240 fps in 1080p tho so that will be fun to play with for some shots of using tools.

the 8.8 in a foxbody is a very different axle. and im sure there are many off the shelf solutions available for it from summit racing and jegs and other online stores. there are probably similar solutions for it to what I've shown as well but it would require some digging in forums to find that out. this specific caliper, rotor and bracket setup would be unlikely to work on it

i am sure there are many calipers that could be used. the process of making bracket adapters would be similar for most. its just a question of following the steps. measure many times then design the brackets. test fittting ect. but this specific combination makes things a bit easier for people that want something thats tried and tested and within the skillset of most people to do.
