I don't know how he works in Reload, but if he still only shows up if you spend a certain amount of time on the floor, he still does his job, it's just that now the punishment is more severe because you can't just immediately escape when you wear out your welcome on the floor. If anything, that would fit his purpose more than in the original, since it gives the player greater urgency to not meet him if they can't easily get away.

Is fusion spell still a mechanic? I like fusion spells cause good early game fusion spell like Cadenza which heal party and buff evasion/dexterity so Yukari can finally land some shot for once. But there are also definitely joke fusion spells that are definitely 75% will troll you than do you some good. But can’t forget the end game fusion spell that can possibly one shot the reaper, Armageddon, dealing a fixed 9,999 damage. Good thing they locked the fusion spell behind a persona that you can only get by maxing your social link. If they don’t make it into a consumable like portable did, it would be fine cause people won’t be able to cheat get Armageddon early game and literally make the reason you play the game non-existant unless you’re a freak that’s trying to speed run get slapped by every love interests route.
@@skycats6663 Fusion spells are designated to the new theurgy skills which you build up their gauge over time to use. You only unlock the specific fusion ones for the protagonist if you've unlocked the required personas in the compendium (they don't need to be in your party). Not sure if armageddon is still as broken as you can recharge your theurgy gauge pretty easily imo.
@AJMegaScizor Armageddon has the drawback of leaving you with both 1HP and 1SP instead of fully consuming your full SP bar, it's best to leave it as a last resort

Actually I kind of like this. Not only does it kinda make sense and ups the difficulty a bit but it also has meaning. Death won't stop chasing you. All you can do is run from it or fight it.... but eventually you will have to confront it one way or another.
@@Qrow747 Exactly. I actually kind of hope it accidentally happens to me. It will be kind of thrilling to avoid the reaper while still trying to get to the next floor all while fighting shadows. Eventually I'm going to fight it but only after I level up enough. Now if this was like Persona Q where the reaper can attack you while you're in the middle of fighting regular shadows..... that would be a bit different.
That almost makes up for them telling the player about the reaper. This is the persona right of passage for me, new players should find him on their own.
The only other Persona game I played was 5 Royal. You get a little memo about him when you first enter Mementos but it's not made into a big deal. I legit forgot about him until one day I SAW him, and the memory of that memo came back and I had to BOOK it out of there
@@hannahw7023 nah that still counts bc they gave you enough time to forget about it, in here you're already relatively far in tartarus when they pop up the announcement and while you're on the floor you keep being reminded to hurry up.
This happened to me just yesterday.. I had to rush through 13-ish floors just to find the Gatekeeper teleporter, and it traumatized me SO BADLY, ever since then, I just rushed through every floor as fast as possible… IT WAS TERRIFYING I ALMOST CRIED.
Thank god, I thought I was tripping. I got used to how the og P3 released the reaper on your ass so I was used to take my sweet time to explore in both 3 and 4. Not only does the reaper spawn by itself after a set time like in 5, it also seems to spawn much quicker at random times specially in dark rooms and he can follow you forever or until you make an entire floor of distance from it so you have to run run run until it stops insta spawning at the entraces. If you get a fortune reading it takes much, much longer to spawn, so do that if you are going to farm ores. Oh and just as an fyi, it can also spawn on the stairs up and cut you off from running to the next floor since its nearly impossible to run around it cuz its attack range is massive and it will get you if you are anywhere in its near vicinity.
And this, friends, is when you quit the game and return to a previous save point. :) Hahaha, I'm terrifed now...I was wondering if the Reaper had changed any...

Getting a "Dark" Floor is almost certain to have Reaper show up before you hit the stairs.
