I have a little fan that sits on my kitchen counter. Whenever I cut onions, I will position the fan to flow across my cutting board so that it blows away the onion smell/juices/whatever it is that causes my eyes to water. This works every single time I cut onions.
I just pulled the last 1/2 half a loaf of bread out of the freezer. Time to make a couple more. I LOVE having it in the freezer, so easy to pull out and thaw. And it’s just as easy to make two loaves, as one, so why not!
I love this bread recipe. I’ve been using it for 3 years now and it is our daily bread too. I do a 50/50 mix of flour…half all purpose and half whole wheat. That adds another layer of flavor to it too! Can’t wait to try the soup! Thank you for sharing.

You gave me the confidence to start making this bread a long while back! It's a staple in our home. We do all sorts of versions with different seasonings pending our dinner meal! Yes!! All the big tomatoes in the soups/stews! My favorite ingredient. Hope ya'lls weekend is fantastic.
I am making a barley chili today. I put chicken in it, but it is also super delicious without it. It has black beans, corn, barley, my home canned tomato juice, and salsa (today mine happens to be homemade, usually just jarred or canned), spices, veggie broth and onions. It's super delicious and very filling. I am even going full starch today and serving it with jasmine rice. 😂 I have been loving starchy foods lately.
The reason we cry when cutting onions is because breathing thru the nose is connected to our sinuses, causing the onion vapors to burn and cause tears, when breathing thru the mouth only, no tears!!!

Normally only tomato 🍅 soup in a mug but lately I've tried other soups in a mug and it does make drinking the broth part easier in a mug

Could you substitute other flours in the bread recipe if you don't use white flour due to being WFPB????
Cut your onion in a large bowl of water. Onions in water wont make your eyes tear up. Or use swim goggles.
