The poppies that I think you thought were not your ideal, I think they are beautiful! Impressionist feel to me! I think a few red and pink French knots in that sample would take it over the top!
I love the purple flower in the lower left of your video with the radial lines is amazing!
You have discovered something amazing!! Love it❤

I have done this often. I have redyed and redyed. For fun, take some thrift store crochet doilies and watch the colors run along the strings. I have then cut the doilies and used on a wall hanging, adding buttons, beads etc.

I made a t shirt using this method. Over time with normal machine washing the black outline I made for my design (i do not remember but it was probably the fine line) remained but the colors washed out. Not sure why the black stayed So I basically had a coloring book looking shirt without color. I used a pie tin for a larger area.

You should try vinegar, I’d imagine it will spread the color but it might set the color as well.

My first thought was “that is perfect for hiding un-removable stains”!

You could use your beautiful pointing stick after applying alcohol to add design detail I bet the color would follow any impression you make, you think?

Maybe it's my understanding, but the questions concerning heat setting never seemed to be fully answered. I would appreciate heat setting directions and/or information. I found "Jacquard Permanent Dyeset Concentrate" while looking for Retayne. I suppose they do the same task. Synthrapol detergent was advertised as a support product as well. but did not provide heat setting instructions. Thank you in advance.

Heat setting is simply ironing it with your iron on cotton setting. Id put a piece of parchment paper between the cloth and iron.

@@deechristopherquilting6672 thank you very much🙂🤔 I think you mentioned heat setting a few times but I didn't make the connection. I've watched more of your videos now so hopefully I can keep up in the future. You work is wonderful.👍❤❤❤

Set it with your iron or white vinegar. Over time it does fade more than other dyeing. That is why I use the Retayne or white vinegar because it helps it last longer.

Did you also try using a heat source to control the drying process to control the spread and saturation of the ink?
