I was a bit unimpressed with the Amiga considering I'd spent three weeks wages on it..then came Menace with jaw-dropping sprites and good adrenaline music. Never did finish it. I totalled a few joysticks trying though! Nice one Cube
@@MichalBergseth-AmitopiaTV To be fair, the Rockstar from GTA V onwards are not the same company any more. Most of the talent have left and Rockstar are just milking GTA V because they're no longer Rockstar anymore. Still, from those early DMA days to GTA V, it really is quite a legacy.
Look for music from Battle Squadron as well. Awesome game too. The one time I got to the last level on Menace, my friend had to go home and I had to turn the computer off. NOOOOOOOOO
Came outa nowhere and shocked all, Amiga owners and non amiga owners. It was so good that it nearly could have been an arcade game. Soundtrack will stay with you forever!! I used to play Rtype in the arcade and then when I came home I gave Menace a bash.
OMG this is the first game I played on my friend's amiga when I was 6... I never made it through the 3rd level, and then we left the country and never found out about the next levels lol! thank you so much for this upload!!! :D :D :D
I had this but I didn't quite remember until I saw it posted. It's kinda like R-Type lite with a kick-ass '80's soundtrack. Games like this represent part of my childhood:) Great memories...
Most of the skeleton and skull models were used in Shadow of the Beast, especially Inside The Tree. Hot damn, Carnage Rift has such an unsettling appearance, like the red stuff has been catching and eating things...
Oh, the hours I spent playing this back in the day.....I finished both levels in straight shots towards the end, but my skillz are dead now. Still rock it on occasion using WinUAE.
I remember getting this game and playing it to death. My friends had never heard sound FX and music like it anywhere.Alas it would only work on the 1.2 Amigas and would not work on the 1.3 versions when they came out..thanks for the brilliant memories.(I still have the original Ackerlight crack also!)
I had the PC version of lemmings that came with an audio CD and this track was on there. How amazing. I had this for the C64 when it was first released. Pissed me off greatly and I've been looking for this on youtube for an age. In fact saw it the DAY it came on (My wife's birthday...), how sad! Been fantastic to see it again and watch the comments come in too. Absolutely loved this game. The Lemmings level is 'Tricky 14' if ayone wants to look for it by the way. (Now that IS sad!)
Greetings all of you, join the group I made on Facebook called Amiga Nostalagi, AMIGA NEVER DIES, The game Menace, I loved the tune and I played it alot. It was a great hit among others from Psygnosis whom also made Shadow of the Beast, The time og Amiga was just the Greatést time of my life, I programmed demos, games, and much more on my Amiga 500 wich I still have, and I plugged it in this weekend, I just moved right back to 1989s.. Wish I could stay there...
Hmmm... I could have sworn there were more music tracks than just this one for all six levels... Am I mistaken? Oh, and I still remember "CANNONS" from > 20 years ago. So awesome.
that was the first amiga game I saw at a friend's house, I was like WOW! Music rocks! Smooth GFX! Parallax scrolling! I was impressed!! So impressed that I managed to buy one myself. Unfortunatelly arcade quality games like that was a rare commodity on the amiga. So many shity games, but lots of fun still.
Quite a novel shooter this actually what with choices other than what weapon to choose ie ammo management A little basic in other respects but it's better than i thought all those years ago Blood Money is more of the same but prettier and again fairly basic a shooter
what a stupid bonus design, man needs ammo or even more shields but gets score instead , as he has to shoot through all the possibilites.. would be much more better to stop time for a moment after getting it and choosing from 8 possibilities menu in 8 directions around..

DMA Design. The creators of GTA....they've come a long way from this to GTA V.
Maybe, but in many ways not at all. Today its all about getting more and more cash from GTAV players.

Am I the only one who thinks the Carnage Rift theme actually sounds better in Lemmings?
One of the reasons i always loved the Amiga a500 instead of my NES was it was ahead of its time and this was one of my fav games.
Menace had an amazing soundtrack for its time. i remember this game fondly ^_^
Look for music from Battle Squadron as well. Awesome game too. The one time I got to the last level on Menace, my friend had to go home and I had to turn the computer off. NOOOOOOOOO
I forgot what a good soundtrack it had! And the voiceover for the abilities...(deep low voice) 'cannons'.
My father actually still has the disc with this game ^^ when he told me I was amazed he kept it all these years ^^

one of the first games i ever played when i was a kid, top top quality and immense soundtrack.
So, that explains why there is a level called Menacing!! in a Lemmings game.
Now I understand.
I love this Game & Sound in the 80'. In menu is a trainer inside. Unbelievable this to see 20 Years later ;)

First, there was "Menace", now, Psygnosis presents: A DMA Design Game - BLOOD MONEY!

I loved this game! the music is still AWESOME!
This really takes me back...

I forgot the guy who does the music but its the same guy who did Shadow of the Beast and Obliterator right?
love it
I didn't remember this game only had 3 songs :D pretty kickass game from the past

I always found the ingame music a bit cheerful
This music.........awesome for ever !!!!!
I'm fairly sure theres just the one in game tune that plays the whole time.
"Dogs of War" and "Menace" music sounds quite similar. Those drums kick ass. But I guess "Menace" came first.
Hmmm... I could have sworn there were more music tracks than just this one for all six levels... Am I mistaken?
Oh, and I still remember "CANNONS" from > 20 years ago. So awesome.
Lemmings sent me here! This game looks cool, too.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. The Lemmings level is based in 'Carnage Rift' level 3 and is called... wait for it...
MENACING!!
How good it that? HA!
Just curious, but who owns the rights to this game, Blood Money and also Lemmings?
Is it Rockstar North or Sony?
This was a great (yet simple) shmup. Dead playable, fairly tough but beatable. I got it on a budget label in 1992 I think. Great times...

Amiga's answer to C64's Delta.
the level music is so good and i love that danger danger danger danger....
Pumpin up ^^ David at his best ..
isnt menace older than gradius though? im thinking its the other way around.
I have the original game somewhere-I remember the music!
Want to hear the best? Commodore 64 Last Ninja 2... NUFF SAID!
Certianly aint no Vic viper, but this ship seems to get along just fine :)
I used to play this just for the music.
really happy music for a horror shooter
I need the intro music in my life.
Someone do some kinda remix please?
Loved this game... true love
I remember the Karnage from Lemmings
Impressive graphics for its time (1988)
The music to this game it the dogs bollocks.
Hold on, I think I played this game before back when I was young🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
David Whittaker
sounds exactly like Xenon!
Must be worth something now...
I LOVE THIS!

Blood Money is more of the same but prettier and again fairly basic a shooter
"Sea of karnaugh". Nice computer science joke.
Lasers.
Preferred the commodore 64 version myself.
Smart and sexy aliens... I think I am in love...
was never a big fan of the dual-playfield mode on the amiga, the best 16color games looked better IMO, still it's good they tried
I think thats hard to generalize. Lionheart does very well with its dual playfield levels..
GFX & SFX is out. Even good old Zybex from ATARI XL/XE is better game.
what a stupid bonus design, man needs ammo or even more shields but gets score instead , as he has to shoot through all the possibilites.. would be much more better to stop time for a moment after getting it and choosing from 8 possibilities menu in 8 directions around..
This game is a joke, just look at the first boss
Shut up
