As for me, better to sell each item of your storage and the shelves you built and stop paying for the storage unit of course. I found all the items absolutely useless. Wow what a difference… just an idea for your cloth items(pillows, blankets) you can use a vacuum seal bag and just take a picture of what is in it and put on the outside… they are lifesavers and it protects from dust etc♥️ cannot wait to see the first room rescue 🙌🏻

Amanda, just a thought but perhaps take a photo of each of your shelves so you can see at a glance what you have or perhaps it is worth taking a pic of each item and making an inventory and you can add as you get more items and subtract as you use or get rid of them. Hello Amanda, it's amazing how some shelves help to get things neat and tidy. In a storage unit always keep things in plastic tight containers. Cardboard can be nibbled by different insects and small animals. I would never leave any clothes or textile out, it gets dust and who knows if pee and poop. I wouldn't be able to use those cushions or any rug. I would keep memorabilia home to take a look at it from time to time. If I keep something I want to enjoy it. Although having a unit for seasonal decoration, specially Xmas things is a great idea. Maybe you could make inventory of your deco things so that you don't buy double, with pictures to know exactly what prints you have, for example. Thanks for the inspiration.

great tip: breed your own help. I only have one but I am grateful for him, 3 is a luxury. everything is more fun together. I live in a small home and my stuff seem to breed out of control sometimes. almost done with the ground floor (done today, I think) got to do my small upstairs next. my son said it looked like a hoarders place. always fun to see peoples christmas stuf. I am using my 2 boxes (christmas) as a table for my laptop. the only thing that doesnt fit in there is my 4 ft tree. and I am not a minimalist. looking forward to the series, sometimes all you need is a fresh set of eyes.
Im hoping to decluttered a bench/storage piece in my bedroom. The things in it are my daughter's things from childhood. I hope to get rid of a good deal. Fun video watching you declutter the storage unit. Those shelves are great.

We lived in it for 5 months while we were building our home a few years ago and haven’t revisited using it for regular camping since lol! We found mouse droppings too….ugh… I still love the farmhouse look a little more toned down though. We are selling our house that we built to move to another state so cleaning and organizing things there as well!

Really Amanda you could really hire yourself out during the holidays to help people get a jump start on their homes. I did however seen somethings in the declutter area that you should hang onto. I know some people that are still in to farmhouse decor I would hang on to a few things especially those that can be painted and give a touch of your hand to still be used. I am so excited for this next chapter with the family. I am sure the boys will be such a big help to and Kyle. Whether it be on the home front or at a redo. Its so interesting watching this episode as I am moving soon and I had to get a storage unit. I really like your idea of shelves, but I decided to number my boxes and log them in a book so I would know what's inside. I also left a center aisle so that I can access the boxes and totes easily. I do know that if I need a lower numbered box, it will be near the back of the unit with the higher numbers near the front. I do hope I will not have a mouse problem and will have to check every month to see if there is evidence of them. UGH!
You can take photos of the shelves and have an album on your cell phone of all inventory, this way you don't buy duplicate items and it's more practical to know if you have the item or not when you need something. Lots of love😊❤
Massive project that I am just starting! My basement that holds 39 years of my stuff, and both my husband and I’s parents items. So, so overwhelming both the physical amount and the emotional baggage that goes along with it all.
Great job on the storage unit! I have never been attracted to farm house style. I’m more of a modern coastal girl. I love the blue and neutral colors so much.
Our huge project to organize is the garage. My logic is that I am saving the garage for last as I declutter the inside of the house room by room and donate items along the way. It's definitely a process. Your storage room looks so much better! I can see it being a useful space for future room rescue projects.

I have this exact same project to do! I have a large storage unit that is filled to the brim and I can't even get to anything anymore. It needs to have about 80% of what is in there decluttered, but everytime I open the door I find it so overwhelming. I just need to get started and plug away at it. I have health issues that affect my physical strength so I have to break it down into small managable chunks. I just wish I could go at it really hard one day and get the majority of it done, but there is a lot of sorting to be done as there is 25 years of family memories in there. After watching your video, I am definitely more inclined to get working on it!
I love your decluttering videos - so inspirational. I think the last time I had a storage unit was when we first moved to New Jersey and needed one because we were renting a fully furnished house. I try to do continually decluttering and have a little box in our front room on our way out of the house, so when it is full, we can just take it to Goodwill. I just found a local thrift shop near me (almost three years after moving into the house) and I hope to visit it sometime soon 🙂 Luke is soo big now! Looks like you both were enjoying the time together putting up the shelves 🙂

Love farmhouse. Love the laundry sign you were decluttering. The unit looks great. I want to work on the family room. We need to empty it out to put the flooring down. It's so cluttered. But not all of it is mine which makes it frustrating. I want to make half of it my craft area or put the kids in there. We live in a split level. Right now they share the laundry area.

I know some people that are still in to farmhouse decor I would hang on to a few things especially those that can be painted and give a touch of your hand to still be used. I am so excited for this next chapter with the family. I am sure the boys will be such a big help to and Kyle. Whether it be on the home front or at a redo. Its so interesting watching this episode as I am moving soon and I had to get a storage unit. I really like your idea of shelves, but I decided to number my boxes and log them in a book so I would know what's inside. I also left a center aisle so that I can access the boxes and totes easily. I do know that if I need a lower numbered box, it will be near the back of the unit with the higher numbers near the front. I do hope I will not have a mouse problem and will have to check every month to see if there is evidence of them. UGH!

You can take photos of the shelves and have an album on your cell phone of all inventory, this way you don't buy duplicate items and it's more practical to know if you have the item or not when you need something. Lots of love😊❤

Massive project that I am just starting! My basement that holds 39 years of my stuff, and both my husband and I’s parents items. So, so overwhelming both the physical amount and the emotional baggage that goes along with it all.

Our huge project to organize is the garage. My logic is that I am saving the garage for last as I declutter the inside of the house room by room and donate items along the way. It's definitely a process. Your storage room looks so much better! I can see it being a useful space for future room rescue projects.

I have this exact same project to do! I have a large storage unit that is filled to the brim and I can't even get to anything anymore. It needs to have about 80% of what is in there decluttered, but everytime I open the door I find it so overwhelming. I just need to get started and plug away at it. I have health issues that affect my physical strength so I have to break it down into small managable chunks. I just wish I could go at it really hard one day and get the majority of it done, but there is a lot of sorting to be done as there is 25 years of family memories in there. After watching your video, I am definitely more inclined to get working on it!

I love your decluttering videos - so inspirational. I think the last time I had a storage unit was when we first moved to New Jersey and needed one because we were renting a fully furnished house.
I try to do continually decluttering and have a little box in our front room on our way out of the house, so when it is full, we can just take it to Goodwill. I just found a local thrift shop near me (almost three years after moving into the house) and I hope to visit it sometime soon 🙂

Love farmhouse. Love the laundry sign you were decluttering. The unit looks great. I want to work on the family room. We need to empty it out to put the flooring down. It's so cluttered. But not all of it is mine which makes it frustrating. I want to make half of it my craft area or put the kids in there. We live in a split level. Right now they share the laundry area.
