Aikido Journal has been able to locate and transform into an online course, rare video footage from the late Michio Hikitsuchi Sensei. Hikitsuchi Sensei was one of the closest students of Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba. Shortly before he passed away in 1969, the Founder even personally awarded Hikitsuchi Sensei the 10th dan.
Morihei made regular visits to Hikitsuchi Sensei's dojo in Shingu, Wakayama Prefecture during the last 15 years of his life. As an ordained Shinto priest, Hikitsuchi Sensei was able to understand O-Sensei' rather arcane way of talking. As a result, he was capable of faithfully reproducing O-Sensei's speeches and technical explanations with uncanny accuracy.
