A lot of this is our fault because after all we've been through dealing with these racist devils 👿 we should have came together and get our own schools, because for one they don't teach the truth anyways, but again this should make us say okay enough is enough and we simply invest in our own schools and everything because we're a $7 trillion dollar people,, which makes no sense to still be sending our children to these racist devils 👿 schools 💯

The crown act states African hair styles. It doesn't state short or long hair styles. The word styles covers both short and long hair styles. The judge and the school are petty. They're harrassing this African American student and violating his human rights.

His hair is neat, well groomed and stylish in a manner that represents his culture. Why are we focusing on hair instead of education for this young man? I hope he becomes a Lawyer and help combat this nonsense. Stay strong young man.

Put in a grievance on the judge. The mission statement of Justice The Department of Justice (DOJ) is "to uphold the rules law, to keep our country safe, and to protect civil rights." Independence and impartiality. Stop the unjust on. No one is above the law.

I think too many people discount self esteem and expression in young people. Let's leave children alone in how they dress and concentrate on teaching them to respect themselves and others. Hair DOES NOT DISTRACT from education. This kind of judicial behavior distracts from necessary rulings, though. How about the courts concentrate on violence and crime instead?

  • @TMW3472
    @TMW3472 7 місяців тому +17

This is really disturbing. The judge and the school overstepped. This young man's hair has nothing to do with his learning brain. His hair..... Tight, short, long, braided, twisted, pulled up or down is hos preference. Why are we having to write laws for a limited perspective (opinion) of a judge who clearly does not understand black hair styles and a school administrator who needs to change their rules. The board of education needs to discipline the school for putting him in isolation. The judge clearly is not qualified to rule in this case. Both parties owe that family an apology.

As a Black Woman wearing my hair in locs, I remember when I wore braids...my first opponents were my parents. The culture they came up in was to straighten your hair by any means.. Perms, pressing my hair a hot comb. I was so happy no more skin burns 😮 no more hair loss, from by products that have😢😮 caused by chemicals that should not be used on skin or hair!
    I stand beside this issue.

If your hair was being burned out, etc. - you need to look at the person whom was providing your services. If u got burned like that, that was who u had in your hair. Lol, at times as a child it was a relative. Even with a big towel, the grease would find a way. Then it was ears being burned..I was tender headed and uncomfortable...My hair was thick.coarse and tightly coiled..Hair dressers didn't like working on my hair.. There was Vigoral that helped. It was a liquid texturing agent that eventually worked....
So when the Afro and Braids entered the picture 📸
I was there Front & center.
My First rebellion was my hair and I had so much fun and what a confidence booster.
I am upset by what they did to this young man. Publicly embarrassing him by putting him on display..

Whether the relaxer is applied correctly without burning, it is still damaging to the nature of the scalp- hence the class action law suit due to the obvious side effect of applying harsh chemicals not naturally meant for anyone's scalp, including caucasians!!! The CROWN Act, which stands for "Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural hair," is legislation that was created in 2019 by Adjoa Asamoah. She co-created the CROWN Coalition, along with Orlena Nwokah Blanchard, Esi Eggleston Bracey and Kelli Richardson Lawson.
Together, these women have been advocating for people with textured hair and hairstyles-whether it's an Afro, braids, twists, locs, bantu knots or a variety of curl types-to be able to exist in a space without discrimination.
Asmoah is also the "Senior Advisor for Racial Equity" to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary.
She reacted to Thursday's verdict, telling CBS News Texas, "Those who violate laws enacted to make it illegal to discriminate must ultimately be held accountable."
    She continued to say:
"What has been happening to Darryl George is wrong, on multiple levels, and there should be collective outrage - including from those same people who profess to be believers of individual rights. What we have seen, including throughout history, is these people will use a PROXY for race without hesitation. These alleged race neutral policies disproportionately impact Black people! In this particular case, from the photos I've seen, it's seemingly impossible to determine the "length" of his hair-as styled. As such, the decision is quite literally unfathomable."

I believe that one of the reasons he is fighting this injustice regarding his hair, is that some of the hair woven into his hair is that of his deceased grandfather. I also believe that the part that would be cut is his grandfather's hair and he knows that he won't be able to get anymore of his grandfather's hair. I think it is a custom of his family and or ancestors to interweave the hair of a deceased family member into their own hair to remain close to that person.
