ONE LIFE TO LIVE has had so many theme songs, and I thought this one was incredibly beautiful and romantic. Many felt Linda Gottlieb should not have jettisoned the Peabo Bryson theme, and I totally get it, but honestly, I can't imagine that week Megan was dying, going from her death into ♪ Here's what to do when don't find the rainbow's end.... don't cry! ♫ I felt if anything Linda Gottlieb tightened the format, the approach she took, with editing and branding ONE LIFE makes more of an impact now, but her greatest accomplishment was bringing Michael Malone as a writer into the soap world. The only ball I wish would have been picked up, was despite Gottlieb returning the show to social relevance, she would have brought back more veteran characters/actors.
Linda Gottlieb shouldn't have jettison the 1984 theme. Although beautiful, it was boring and drab - took down the quality of the show's dynamics. The writing and story lines was not good during this period.

This along with Peabo Bryson's version were the best OLTL themes in my opinion. It was a shame this theme only lasted for 3 years. It was fitting for where OLTL was at that period of time. I never thought I would find the full version uninterrupted. There was another video but it had Erika Slezak during a voice over at the end commemorating the shows anniversary at that time. Thank You so much for this. The sound quality at the end was a bit disappointing but it's better than nothing. Thank you again.
Im womdering if perhaps it was lifted from that clip, but Erika's speaking was somehow muted, so that's why there's a dip in the second part of it when compared to the first part.

The worst intro/theme in this show's history. Utter garbage, I understand Linda Gottlieb wanting to leave her mark and draw a line between her & Paul Rauch, but Tour of Llanview was the perfect intro/theme. I hated it, my mom hated it, Phil Carey hated it. Tour of Llanview 2 could not come fast enough. Thursday January 2nd, 1992-Friday November 17th, 1995 was musically a torturous period for fans of this show.
Lol! It was hard to get used to. It grew on me. Interesting GH's Faces of the Heart premiered the following year and was composed similarly. During the early 90s, As the World Turns adopted a new theme that was slow and boring. I think that slow theme show music was an early 90s thing with the soap operas.

Tour of Llanview, If I see Jeffrey Byron as Richard Abbott in front of the house with the running dog, I know it's Version 9 May-June 1986, just before John Loprieno as Cord would occupy the same section for the remainder of TOL's tenure. ALL MY CHILDREN with Falling Pictures, I could tell when Sarah Michelle Gellar as og Kendall was in the sequence what year we were in. Satin Sheets, is it 92, 93, 94 or 95? I don't fucking know. Tour of Llanview 1 should have been retired in 1994, after a full 10 years.
@@jaredbaratta8589 Meaning I had no choice but to listen to OLTL's theme during that era. It wasn't the best era for writing and the character either. I was soo happy when OLTLs theme had changed in 1996. The writing and characters became good again. Best days of All My Children were the early 90s...although I think I like the up tempo locket open over the flying pictures open. Before you jump all over me, I like both AMC themes. Hated when the early 90s theme was reverted back to in the 2000s. That was the beginning of the end for AMC and OLTL.
