Thank you Michele! I appreciate your contribution to the stitching community and bought you a coffee to thank you. I wish I had encountered a science teacher like you when I was in school. I am sure you make it fun!
Thanks for sharing...your dog is a camera hound, you just don't know it....so funny that he was watching the camera the whole time....thanks for sharing....always love seeing other people out there dyeing fabric...take care and be safe
Hello Michele, someone recommended you and I am so happy to come across your flosstubes. I recently listened to Priscella and Chelsea on dyeing with coffee and tea, and tried their method, loved the results. Now, in viewing your video, I went right out and bought some white linen, all the Rit dye colors and will try your method today, so excited!!! Thank you for the step by step instructions. Also hoping to start at your #1 video and listen to you share about all your adventures with cross stitch. Have a blessed day!
Thank you so very much. I haven't dyed any fabric yet and all of the videos that I have watched seem to be too complicated with many steps. Yours is such as easier way to dye fabric and the way I would enjoy having a piece to stitch on. Again thank you.
Hello again. I was able to dye several pieces of linen, following your directions and just loved the results... Thank you again for sharing your tutorial. Take care
Michelle, I just love your Albus!! I found your fabric dyeing so interesting. I can see me knocking over the jar with the dye in them and splashing it all over my kitchen!!🤣🤣. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge not just on the dyeing process but everything you share!!❤️🪡🧵❤️
Thank you so much for showing us your technique! You made it look so doable that I feel motivated to give it a try. I've always sort of been scared by the process. Your calm, clear explanations and demo made dyeing seem more accessible for me, someone who has no clue what they are doing! Thank you again!
Very inspiring! I used some old blueberries today and boiled them for an hour, drained them, saved the purpley water and then dip dyed the fabric and it's hanging on a handmade clothesline above the kitchen sink! Can't wait to try Rit dye!! Your fabrics are Beautiful & I bought you a coffee so thank you!!!
This was extremely useful. I absolutely love your results. I was a research biologist for many years and even now that I'm retired I have a hard time at just having a go at it. Reproducibility is ingrained I suppose. You've inspired me to be a more free spirited dyer!
Oh Albus...that's how I feel in front of the camera too..hahaha I dye wools for applique and was interested in how people have been dyeing linens too. Thanks for sharing your method.
Absolutely wonderful. Takes some of the mystery out of the dyeing process...and also takes some of the fear out of it. Thank you so much....you have a wonderful eye for color!
Wonderful video - I can tell you are a very fine teacher. I love your tips, especially the filtering. Now I know why I have had some results that were not what I wanted. I will watch this video many times, I am sure.😊
I just did a dye where I mixed tea dying with a hint of petal pink rit dye. I do love the way it turned out. It will hopefully go up on my channel at the end of the week. I will have to try that low emerging you did, it could be a bit easier for a quick batch if I need it sometime :)
Thank you for the informational video! I’m trying to build up some knowledge and the confidence to dive in and give it a try! You should change from “buy me a coffee” to “buy me a tea”😃
Thank you for this. I think my local Michaels only has the synthetic version of RIT. Ill have to investigate further to see where I can get the all purpose. Lovely to see a mad scientist at work
Have you tried using more of a paste based fabric.I have used that to die men's Sox For a golden gloves competition in the states. I heated up the water and placed it in a large porcelain pot . 3 gallon pot. I died 25 pairs of socks. You have to add salt to the water. They were perfect. It is ok to cook the color for the six. The water can boil.
Thank you for doing this video. Now, I can dye while traveling this year. I usually only use coffee and tea to dye. But. Will definitely trying this method.
Thank you for this helpfull video, it makes really clear how to diy! The results are great, so I will absolutely give it a try myself! I 'll buy you a kofi.
I really liked your video on dying linen! I’ve used Procion on cotton quilt fabric and it was very fussy. This really makes me want to give it a try! Thank you!
I love Albus! He's a handsome boy! It was cute when he sniffed when you said you were dying fabric today...as much to say "Oh brother, not again!" You need to have him on the show more often. Thanks for showing us how to dye fabric. I am going to have a go at it when I am finished with the cross stitch I'm doing at the moment.
Thank you for sharing your fabric dying process. I love to dye my own as well and I really appreciated your method and tips. All your fabrics turned out lovely. I am a more recent subscriber and am really enjoying your videos. Thank you for sharing and love to Albus! Take care, happy stitching, and stay well.
Yes, what a great video. I have taken notes and estimated the measurements and your fabrics turned out beautiful!!! I have to make a trip to the local dollar store to pick up some supplies and a tub to store them in. Will try to make a clothes line in the garage for hanging fabrics, oh what fun!!! Thank you for a super informative video and for taking the time to go step-by-step 🥰🤗🙏
I love dyeing fabric but also floss, I usually add 2 Ecru floss in my dye bath, or however I’m dyeing, sometimes just on their own if I’m trying for a specific colour . I found using white not as successful, I guess because they bleach it so much , possibly why white floss seems thinner as well. You’ve produced some beautiful fabric colours here. 👍🏻🙋🏼♀️
Thanks for the video. I have dyed my own fabrics but still picked up some new, useful tips from you. First, the time saving idea of having the pan of salty water to draw from and second, the filtering thru paper towel. Brilliant! 💡
Your linens are beautiful. I still find dyeing a bit intimidating, but I'm thinking I should just pick up some inexpensive aida and give it a go. Thanks for showing us how you do it!
Your linen turned out beautifully! Next month (I’ve overspent my budget this month) I’m going to buy some linen to dye. I’ll use the procion dyes because I have them but it’s been a long time since I’ve dyed fabric so we shall see. I’m nervous. The Rit dye looks so much easier to use though and is very tempting. I like your murky version better than murky. I’m not really a fan of that one. But yours is lovely. Thanks for the continued inspiration!
Very informative episode and you make it look easy and fun. Do you mind sharing the name and designer of the 12 Days of Christmas SAL you’re doing with Finally a Farm Girl? I’m hoping to have a tree with all 12 Days ornaments this Christmas. Thank you.
Hi Michelle, thank you so much for a great video. I love your understanding of color and how you mix them. I was wondering what sizes of fabric you buy for dying? Do you buy them by the yard/ metre?
Thank you for showing us your dying process. The colors of your fabrics turned out very nice. When you buy the white fabric to dye, do you buy individual cuts, or buy yardage?
It depends what they have. I’ve taken more to buying fat quarters because it’s easier and I rarely need more than that…but sometimes the cut quarters are out of stock so I buy yardage. I’m not very good at cutting straight and I don’t have a big surface to lay big pieces out easily 😃
with dying other more vibrant colors do you rinse them before letting them dry? Or does the salt set it? I would think if washing the piece after stitching that when some wash it, it may stain the piece in the wrong spots?
This is brilliant!!! Thank you so much for showing us how you dye fabric. I think I can. . . I think I can. . :) What linen do you use? I heard you say white Zweigart base but do you use cashel, Edinburugh, Belfast etc? It all gets confusing for me when I try to buy online. (Slowly getting familiar with the different types) Thank you so much!! Will be buying you a coffee. Much appreciated. :) 🤎
Thank you for showing us how you dye fabric, they turned out so pretty. Elvis is such a handsome boy and you can see he loves his person very much.
Love this dye video. The mottling effect you get is just what I like.
Thank you Michele! I appreciate your contribution to the stitching community and bought you a coffee to thank you. I wish I had encountered a science teacher like you when I was in school. I am sure you make it fun!
Thank you! I’m not sure all my students would agree! 🤣
You've given me the courage to try my hand and this. Thank you.
Great info and loved watching. You go girl and get your line of material, you'd have many ladies who would purchase.
Thanks for sharing...your dog is a camera hound, you just don't know it....so funny that he was watching the camera the whole time....thanks for sharing....always love seeing other people out there dyeing fabric...take care and be safe

Great colors, I hope you bought Rit Dye stock since folks will be buying it to dye their own fabric!
Hi! Very helpful to watch you mixing dyes and how you apply them. Thanks for taking time to film this. The fabrics look awesome😍
Such a great reference since I’ve watched this a few times now. Thanks!
Thank you so much for showing us your technique! You made it look so doable that I feel motivated to give it a try. I've always sort of been scared by the process. Your calm, clear explanations and demo made dyeing seem more accessible for me, someone who has no clue what they are doing! Thank you again!
A million thanks for the video, I used your technique and was able to save a piece of fabric!!!!
Very inspiring! Thanks so much Marcy! 😄 I’m glad you enjoyed it

Wow, you make the dye process seem so simple. Something that I would love to have a go at, now doesn't seem so intimidating 🙂
Thank you for sharing you information on your dying technique. After watching you I am goung to give it ago. Happy Stitching🧵🧵🧵
This was great, so informative and fun to watch! Brings to mind our saying “there’s a method to her madness” 😁😁🌸. Heading to the coffee shop now 😉
This is a wonderful vid. I think you must be a very good science teacher. The fabrics are beautiful.
Great video!!! Thankyou. I have to do buy me a coffee.
Thank you very much for this tutorial - very helpful. I am always intimidated when dying. I need to make a yellowish one also.
I love how albus wouldn't take his eyes off the camera at the begining 😄 and then gave a little woof like a teenager 😄. Fab and informative thank you
I am definitely in love…with Albus and with the gorgeous fabrics! Thank you so much for doing this , Michelle. Your Renaults are amazing!🥰
Wonderful video - I can tell you are a very fine teacher. I love your tips, especially the filtering. Now I know why I have had some results that were not what I wanted. I will watch this video many times, I am sure.😊
Thank you so much Michelle, thanks to your video I’ve managed to dye the first 3 pieces of linen for a Year in the Woods x
I just did a dye where I mixed tea dying with a hint of petal pink rit dye. I do love the way it turned out. It will hopefully go up on my channel at the end of the week. I will have to try that low emerging you did, it could be a bit easier for a quick batch if I need it sometime :)

I’m trying to build up some

You should change from “buy me a coffee” to “buy me a tea”😃
I really enjoyed your demonstration! I think that is something I could attempt. Thank you for sharing your tips and technique.
Thank you for the great tip of the funnel. I was wondering why there were grainy bits on the fabric. I made a murky with pearl grey and tea.
Very helpful. I am amazed at how the fabric dried. I am going to try and she some of my fabric now. Thank you.
To be able to create my own colors!! Yahtzee!!!
Thank you for this special edition!! I wanted to try this but did not know how to, thank you!!!!!
Thank you for this. I think my local Michaels only has the synthetic version of RIT. Ill have to investigate further to see where I can get the all purpose. Lovely to see a mad scientist at work
The dyes all looked the same in the pot! It’s amazing how differently they all came out. You could definitely give ‘the’ murky a run for its money .
Great video thank you for sharing your tutorial with us this comes in handy. Have a wonderful evening and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩

I have three bottles of rit dye received for free from ecycle. I can’t wait to have a go.
Your linens are beautiful. I still find dyeing a bit intimidating, but I'm thinking I should just pick up some inexpensive aida and give it a go. Thanks for showing us how you do it!
Don’t forget that you can try it out on cotton sheeting - much cheaper and you can always use the results as backing materials for finishes 😁
@@mommalovesyougb thank you.. I hadn't thought of that.. it's an even better idea!
Your colors all came out lovely! Thank you for sharing your process 😊
Love your Dalmatia!
