Time we had a new Top Gear team, Nobby would be in my list, Johnny Smith too. Back to its roots as a more serious TV show. Would also need someone who really understands EVs and someone who knows their performance cars, maybe a rotation of several presenters.
We're not really ever going to see studded tyres on the roads in UK or Ireland. While I enjoyed the video it'd have been nice to see the same cars on All Season tyres to give us an idea of how they'd go then. Looks like a nice jolly for you though!
I am confused as both these cars have the same drive system as the xtrail is powered by 2 x electric motors powered by a battery which is charged by an petrol engine. The petrol engine is there purely as a generator and does not drive the wheels . The Ariya has the 2 electric motors powered by a battery which is charged from the mains not the generator as in the Xtrail so theoretically they are the same. It does highlight what you get for your money as batteries seem to cut a lot more than the petrol generator...
Mark us your aul pal Jim Jim still driving an X-trail since his Barney bus died on him😊...jaysus I used to listen to yiz every morning when I was out early
Seems to me that normal winter tyres that are suitable for more moderate climbs would have been a better choice for your intended audience. Sure the Inuit would fit studded tyres.
Interesting you say the X-trail is more capable because its not EV but being the ePower version it is essentially an EV with petrol energy storage. And no off roader was ever over 2 tonne 😂
@@NobbyOnCars both cars are electrically propelled would it not be that the X-Trail was designed to be more off-road biased. Land rover seem to do ok with 2.8 tonne off roaders
Some manufacturers are increasing their ICE production again as their EVs are not selling. They would be bankrupt in a year as the market for evs is about saturated.
No reviewers ever mention the driving experience in an ev vehicle, always specs. Maybe 100% of buyers are only interested in savings and could not care less about the driving experience.
Oh, so this is nissan comparing a proper off roader with a family ev car. This is nissan convincing you to keep buying fossil fuel cars by ensuring the X trail performs better. Put the X trail up against a rivian, a proper ev off roader. Then that's like for like. I don't get why Japanese car makers are so stuck in the past. Honda, Toyota, Suzuki and Nissan are all so far behind the game. The Chinese manufacturers that are decades ahead with ev and are going to dominate the market.

Your timing for this video is impeccable

That looked like fun 😊
You couldn’t have dropped this video on a better day 😂 ⛄️ ❄️
Looks an awesome place to visit
Afternoon mate looks bloody cold
Bit chilly but worst I saw was -4c
Hate to disagree with you Nobby, but it isn't just the 4 wheel drive epower we get in Ireland. I own a front wheel drive x trail e power.
When did you get it? Think it has changed now.
Only got it too weeks ago. SVE edition e power.@@NobbyOnCars
A junket Mark. Looks like great craic.

It’s not 2WD is it
@@NobbyOnCars neither is?
@@descb600f e-force, clue is in the name.
Is the X-Trail not the epower too?

Is it sponsored or it s a test??😊
Finland looks cold.

Nissan is on a bit of a PR push of these cars. Lots of new Nissan content appearing telling us how good these cars are that nobody is buying.
What that a review 🤷

Absolute nonsense 🤣
