Weight definitely matters!....unless you were John Brzenk in the 90's, in that case no amount of weight advantage could save you from him.
You got it! :)
The greatest arm wrestler of all time for a reason.
Weight matters specially you are levan
@Abhinav Prakash trubin didn't do what he did to brzenk when brzenk was in his prime. Prime Brzenk is a completely different monster. When trubin faced him brzenk wasn't the same as back in 2006 - 2009. Many can debate when Brzenk's prime was but between 2006 and 2009 Brzenk was at possibly his strongest form.
@Abhinav Prakash . trubin ...
Who the fook is that guy.
A bodybuilder
Getting beaten by Todd, pushkar, chafee, laletin, levan .
And u r comparing him to the GOAT who has beaten Denis twice (6-0 and 5-1)
, Devon, pushkar, babayev ,chafee ,Todd and list goes on.
Levan Saginashvili is the best example, he once said when he was first competed in Georgia Championship at 90kg, he was barely move anyone, but when he at 100 kg he made it to top 3, then top 2 at 110 kg . It worked for him very well!
Yeah, and the growth hormons and steroids definitely also worked.
It didn't work that well for trubin i think.
@Tyler Vincent he doesnt take steroids he is too fat
@@physikus7888 It is so obvious so why do you need to point it out? It just makes you look dumb.
Useless Levan he is a coward
John Brzenk, Khadzimurat Zoloev and Rustam Babayev. The giant slayers.
Todd hutchings also
Babayev is short but muscular. With 47-50 cm upperarm he is big enough for me.
kydyrgali ongarbaev is impressive too
Sashoo andreev also
It’s not so much about arm size but about body weight. Those guys weigh much less than the super heavy weights but can often beat the, which makes it very impressive.
Do career progression for Engin Terzi and John Brzenk! :D
We together with Eric will definitely work on it.
@@voiceofarmwrestling nice!
Hello devon
@@irinaivanovna6380 you do know that's not Devon right?
@@haagenneldeberg6787 that was quick..
You're narrating skills are really good your English is really good and you have good charisma I'd like to see more podcasts where you're asking the questions the guests and I think you should just take it over man you really good at this I watch most all the podcasts and yours is one of the easiest to listen to good job man!
Brilliant video. Really well explained and delivered.
@Voice of Armwrestling Thank you for doing these videos. I have learned a lot from you and your videos. 👍 KEEP MAKING MORE!!
Thank You for support!
It's important to make videos like this in order for the sport to mature faster out of its 'freak' stage. Right now it's all about who's the heaviest, the tallest, the most freakishly huge...But if things develop the right way soon every weightclass will be treated with the respect due to it. And a 90kg champion who doesn't want to go up the weight class won't be treated as a case of wasted potential, and a 70kg champion with a consistently successful track record will be respected just as much as superheavyweight champions
👌🏼👊🏼
This is one of the reason I don't have motivation to train and arm wrestle anymore being 5 ft 4 weigh in at 65kg pretty muscular for a short guy there just no way in hell will I ever gona beat bigger guys, who would want to be champion at 65kg but lose to 90% of the other arm wrestler out there life is just unfair that reality as much as I like arm wrestling its just not for me I rather use that energy to do something else that I'm good at.
@@abcwarrior91 I understand your general gripe with enormous advantages granted by certain anthropometrical stats, unfortunately, those things play a massive role in how far away can you progress as an athlete not only in AW but in any sport in general
That said, height alone can hardly be a decisive factor. I mean, Sasho Andreev is also 5'4' with short hands and arms, but just look at his track record. Maybe in your case it's preferable to keep bulking and strengthening the hook if you wanna compete. Of course it will be still hard to pull with 6 ft+ athletes, but it doesn't mean you won't be able to challenge them
Extremely clever comment. Hat off
Couldnt agree more
Great Ray.... it was time that somebody explain that to the community.
👍💪thx man
Glad to help, someone has to! :)
Another hit! Good work Ray
Great video Ray!
Thank You brother!
Great video and analysis.
I hope the bigger arm wrestling gets, the more storylines and interest in other weight classes get established. Right now most people only know about the heavyweights while in mma people also know about khabib, conor, gsp, adesanya,...
There's a ton of good lower weight armwrestlers that have great matches and deserve recognition.
Great video mate.
Another great video ! Well done Ray !!! 💪💪💪👍
Thanks 👍
Prudnik before he get on Mazarenko secret potion was one of the best Pound4Pound. He was very strong for his size and reminds me Brzenk a lot.
So the potion made him weaker? That's one hell of a potion...
@@nvmffs the potion make him 40pound havier and doesnt make him impressive anymore. And i would also say it didnt make him stronger too
@@BLZArmwrestling idk if the secret potion made him less impressive. He only armwrestled Ongarbaev, Rustam, and Laletin so far, that’s not much to go off. He certainly beat Rustam much more easily than he did when he didn’t have the secret potion.
He is stronger in the absolute sense but weaker in the relative sense. In other words, he had more success being the bigger guy in middleweight rather than the lighter guy in the heavyweight.
@@YFun-ux5rs thats my point
Great vid coach! / Just beginning
Amazing and interesting Video :D !!!!!!
Thanks for that video
Great explanation!
Thank You Greg! 👊🏼👌🏼
Taras arm was absolutely massive!
i wonder you not including John Brzenk in your video, and i still waiting until i watching you put him in last sections.
and it would be nice if you put match Krasimir Kostadinov VS Alex Kurdecha , that is epic match dude.
That was an epic match for sure.
Great video 💪
Thank You :)
Even more than weight, the size of a person’s frame/skeletal structure (particularly the fingers, hand, wrist, and forearm) matters immensely. Look at someone like Cobra Rhodes. Competed most of his life around 165 lb (I believe). However, because his frame is as large as a typical 198-220 lb guy, he is one of the greatest 165 lb armwrestlers of all time.
I want to progress as fast as possible. I want to go to Zloty Tur every year, as long as I keep progressing.
Do some pull ups bro
@@SM321_ yeah 6 years in the military dont worry for that 🙏 still in lockdown and cant train but I will restart 200% in january
@Nill Gddy Steroids are not enough, I think HGH is a better drug for this sport.
@Nill Gddy high five 🖐️
@@gembagus We are talking about drugs not physic. But yea, HGH is best drug for become a pro.
But it's nice to see the middleweight win the overall. Like that kid Jason in the dark sunglasses did recently at a state title event in the USA, left arm. He took the heavyweight down with relative ease with an amazing, iron-wristed toproll. (That was part of Brzenk's appeal too, as when he beat Lupkes in '88 in the overall.)
Lupkes has wins over him too though, it was a matter of shape
Merlo
Being 170kg is ludicrous really, pictures of Levan from way back when show he had good structure, was tall, but he’s literally tripled in size. I want to see the stacks these athletes are on.
Hgh, deca-durobolin , test,insulin
Nice video thanks
Most welcome
Great video! I will keep training.. Better late than never
Thank You! Thats awesome 👊🏼
Ray how to do biceps strength training for arm wrestling and Good informative video ✌
The channel has sooooo many videos on it. Just look through their videos
Hammer curls
Imagine a follow up on this, Devon 2021
Absolutely, iv said it a few times, but for some reason , I'd love to see brezenk AND todzilla team up , vs levan.
Thats totally right weight matters a lot... Whenever I put some weight even tho I think Its just fat I see the lifts and strength increase considerably...
Also the energy/calories from the food
the ability to lock your entire arm to your shoulder/chest/torso and have it drop on your opponent feeling like dead weight, thats the special ingredient that determines if your weight matters.....size and weight are 2 very different things in armwrestling
Do You guys have 63 kg class in Latvia ?
I am very light weight guy and I find it a little depressing facing bigger and stronger guys all the time.
I would love to visit Coach Ray some day for some trainig session.. 💪💪💪
We don`t usually . Depends on competition. Sure thing, always welcome.
Ask John Brzenk if size matters. The Goat.
Go tell that to school boy, he seemed not aware of the rule
IMPRESSED WITH TARAS IVAKIN'S MASSIVE FOREARM!!
His arms were solid
was that gerogi tseranov against alizhan? i thought it was someone else.
I see Danny Tesch, I press "Like", great video
For a second, I thought you were going to end it like that Dos Equis beer ad, "Stay thirsty my friends." ;)
Man watching pushkar and oleg... 😥 R.I.P. pushkar
I was thingking the whole video on that last guy, he is something else, his name is VREZH SEDRAKYAN
Im 99% sure u are from USA
@@voiceofarmwrestling Im from PANAMA, good thing there is always that 1% chance 😂
John brezenk didn't care of size in his peek time. He is the one👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
i can totaly understand why there are weight classes in armwrestling and its good we have them. But in armwrestling they only thing that truly matters is the arm and the arm only. Not the weight of the opponent nor the height of the oponent or their hand size and lenght or how much they can bench etc etc,it is only about how strong the arm is.I have arwrestle with big guys, with small guys ,long arms.short arms ,big hands ,small hands etc etc and i can say for sure that there is no stereotypical "best" arm of psysical combinations out there.every arm is different and strong and weak in some points,i remember i was armwrestle with this dude ,he was like 6 '6 with very long arms ,huge palm and fingers at around 90 kg bodyweight(skinny guy but thick),and imideately felt that i could not go anywhere once he got his grip, and i also remember armwrestle with a guy 15 cm shorter than me with shorter arm and smaller hand and like 35 kilos lighter than me and i also remember i could not go anywhere as well .So ,my point is,no matter how tall or short or how heavy you are ,the only thing that matters in arwrestle is strenght nothing else. For example, levan is not the best because he is 180 kg,he is the best in the world because he has the strongest arm ,of course i can understand the genetics and physical factors and talents of a person and yes it does give atvantages, but thats all they are,advantages...i rember levan saying that the first years of his armwrestle career he was not able to do anything in competitions,of course he was 90 kg at that time but still he had the best genetics out there and he still lost to guys who i am sure they had much worse genetics than levan,so,genetics give advantages but thats far as it goes.... believe me the only thing that matters in armwrestle is strenght, nothing else, and the reason we have weight clases is so we can eliminate these advantages to the minimum so the games can be as fair as possible so the best man can win,and i belive that is very good to the sport ,so...anyways... keep getting as strong as you possibly can and pay little atention to the "advantages " someone may have, and just focus on how you will get stronger so you can beat them!! have a good day...great video btw!!
Both are important.
@@assman7218 yeah ...i am noy refering to all factors that play role in armwrestle,of course techinch, frame size, weight etc play some part, but not that decisive as strenght, they are just advantages...if someone is stronger in armwrestle you will lose to him.
3:32 I miss the young Travis. When he could win without the flash hit too.
John Brzenk send hugs
Just like the other sports, except more technique, harder muscle groups to train correctly due to muscles involved that aren't meant to bend certain ways....constant pain, recovery, and training, and knowing the difference and GAP between an amateur, pro, and elite. Lots of people do not know this. Just facts.
Did john through most of his career competed as middle weight 93 kg weight class ??
Except 2006 & 2014-15
2006 John was in Zloty Tur 95 kg class.
What is levan's or Denis weight class ?
110+ kg category ?
The biggest there is in WAF +110 kg in Zloty tur at that time +95 kg.
yes, I did already know
Good 👌🏼👍🏻
This doesn’t apply to Oleg 😤
His forearm is in a weight class of it's own
just give him a girlfriend like jesus chris guys
You meant it doesn’t apply to John brzenk
Devons is Eric spoto now
What? There is no way!
Oleg has the arm of two superheavyweights
Yes he does
I'm 5'5. I'm gonna be a champion.
PAL gang here!
Devon running through the superheavyweight division at 250lbs has to put him on the current pvp throne.
Who else is beating opponents at the elite level that sometimes outweigh him by over 100lbs!
We all talk about pvp being subjective, but with Devon we actually have an athlete that is providing evidence of his ability across multiple weight categories.
2:12 that's not Georgii Geranov guys. This guy is from Russia, can't remember his name
You are right, we made a mistake. Will take that part out.
Gregory Orekhov ?
@@Alex-1750 ua-cam.com/video/Co0RdlQABJg/v-deo.html
This is the guy who pulled in the final with Shorin
No we just landed in Nevada we didnt know about that..we believed that a 60kg guy can win an 180kg beast...thanks for the info from andromeda
It seems there is a non-linear correlation between body mass and strength as applied to strength-based sports. A 300-pound arm wrestler will never be even close to twice as strong as the strongest 150-pounder. The same applies in every other strength sport. Weightlifting records are good evidence of this trend, where the strongest pound-for-pound weightlifter are actually the lightest weight class.
Well yeah because limb lengths don't double in size among other things. Same principles apply to many things like if you double the power of an engine, it doesn't accelerate or go twice as fast because the forces get exponential to move greater and greater forces.
Matters but not always
Size doesn’t rly matter it’s more experience and strength
Your words are mostly true but bigger equals being stronger is not always the case for some so this is not always true.
i dont believe there are people out there thinking weight dont matter in AW
Silly question, of course it matters. It doesn't determine the winner but is certainly a factor.
Yes
Good

Unless you're John Brezink!
Before the car accident Oleg Says hold my beer and takes anyone down on left !, this 80> 90 kg guy was aiming for Dennis and a huge Dennis also ! I say little Oleg before the accident was P4P best left on the planet
Im super lightweight division
Sumo wrestlers need to compete.
We saw that size matters! Devon at 130 kg mattered yesterday 😋
Nope. He changed his defense too
@@sjoec3329 yeah well this devon obviously was stronger than the devon that faced Denis
@@ronaldkolenman4072 he was way stronger than any other devon laratt.
At same levels? Yes.
Yes, weight matters but it’s not like full body combat sports like boxing or MMA. TOTAL body weight is generally proportional to upper body strength but it’s not perfect. I’ve met guys that are 30 pounds (~15 kg) lighter than me but only because they have very short/small legs - from the waste up, we are the same but from the waste down my legs are where the weight advantage lies. These people would have the advantage of competing in lighter weight classes. Just like in any sport, (think basketball and height) these natural advantages are beneficial and should be taken advantage of. So yes, weight matters but it’s not always indicative of who should be stronger. This is also why weight classes in armwrestling have larger ranges compared to boxing for example
Devon should go back to superman hair style
Size doesn t matter as much as you say it matters. Look at the first video you put. Daniel could hold really good the polish guy.
Did you even watch the video?
@@voiceofarmwrestling aah I just wached it.. mb xddd
oleg man hes small but he defeated monsters
Now i get why the hell my fat friend always gets me but still managed to beat him in right hand he now dominates me in my left but i still sometimes beat him
Yes, size matter
The weight of Oleg Zhog's left arm matters.
Did you know there are Weight and Height classes in P*rnstar?
WEIGHT matters so much at the 1% Elite Level it mabey doesnt matter if you have a realy Top Armqrestler against a Big Guy who trains randomly ans is pretty good but not Elite Level Caliber

So it's like jiu-jitsu
Man I'm just waiting for a forearm to snap the fk up
Yeah; like Levan, he was once human now he is a cartoon character that goes by the name of Shrek!!!
The size of forearms matters. People notice the biceps and barely notice the forearms of good armwrestlers.
