Thank you so much for this series! I went through BMT December 2015-February 2016, so I was there before these changes were enacted. I was so grateful I got to go during that time of the year to avoid the Texas summer heat. As much as BMT sucks when you are going through it, I would love to go through it again. your color depends where you run on the track when you do the daily PT sessions. red belts get the inside of the track since its the shortest distance, blue belts get the most outside track. when you do the pt test tho, belt colors dont matter.

hey Jonathan I watched your video on BMT for 2019 but I do have some questions I like to ask because I leave in a week, I was wondering if you happen to have a different way I may contact you and ask my questions other then posting all my questions in your commit box.
They do the dental cleaning and stuff at your permanent duty station, at bmt they just like inspected my mouth. Im sure if you have a long tech school you'll do it there. Dental is a yearly thing.
They can't force individual pt as punishment anymore. So basically if someone does something wrong everyone is on the ground doing push-ups (max 30), and your mti can't have you do it within an hour after you ate
Greg nailed it. PT is mandatory which basically points to the future of passing a PT test. You have to pass the PT test to avoid getting in trouble / getting kicked out. It's not like the army or marines though where they can make you do push ups for getting in trouble.
Because theres probably 1 or 2 guys in the office and they have to respond to multiple people a day, my best advice is to keep calling everyday until you can contact them or do both email and calls
@@bostmandlow It took me 2 month to get in contact with a recruiter, I set up an appointment with him and I waited 2 week for him to be in the office because he was never there when I went for my appointment

I really want to enlist, is all this held against me?
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure Asthma is disqualifying, I would talk to a recruiter and see what they say. You are definitely not to old though, don't be discouraged by that or anything holding you back. If it doesn't work out theres something else for you out there! Good luck!
hey Jonathan I watched your video on BMT for 2019 but I do have some questions I like to ask because I leave in a week, I was wondering if you happen to have a different way I may contact you and ask my questions other then posting all my questions in your commit box.
Josh Holgin April 16th?
You can message me on Instagram and I'll get back when I can!
nice im the 23 as of right now @@juliamasters518
Your videos are so informative! Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Anyone did 4J0x2 tech school? Just got here and nervous
Waiting to go to meps currently, I needed all this info! 👍🏽
Good luck!
Yeah tech school pt is much more intense. Idk what I was expecting 😂. But bmt was an experience. I actually kinda miss it
I agree I knida miss it sometimes too. I dont miss having 4 years infront of me though haha
Graduated Oct 4th, 2019 !!
Congrats!
I weighed a little over 170 and they told me I was fine.
I ship June 04 - Geospatial Intelligence!
Nice! Good luck!
Me too man! - Ground Linguist
What squadron where you in? I was 322, I was shipped same day hahaha
Do they do pull ups?
Yes
It's not a part of the pt test but you sometimes do it outside during a strength day
Yes, you have to do a certain amount to get warhawk at bmt. I just did like 1 and then would drop off cause I didn't care much.
Nope😂
I’m so excited I leave Tuesday for basic 🤞🏻🇺🇸
Tav Price me too!
Good luck!
Nicole W good luck!!
Jonathan Sullivan thank you!🙏🏻
Are you allowed to get a new tattoo before you leave if it wasn’t documented at Meps?
Will Dowell I wouldn’t suggest getting one at all if you’ve already documented the ones you have now
Don’t get a new tattoo that hasn’t been documented they will count it as “an open wound” and you will have to wait six more months to ship out
I would wait till you get tech school or wait until you go back home to the artist you want.
Na fam don’t do it
When is your first urine test at BMT?
Depends on your flights schedule.
Is BMT 8 weeks ?
Yes
When it comes to the dental, (if needed) do they do all the dental work during BMT or after you get your duty station?
They do the dental cleaning and stuff at your permanent duty station, at bmt they just like inspected my mouth. Im sure if you have a long tech school you'll do it there. Dental is a yearly thing.
Finally in DEP. Unfortunately didn't qualify for any of the 3D jobs I wanted but I can't complain. Just waiting on a job and ship date.
It'll be okay if you stay in you can cross train later! Good luck!
Hey John where did you get that thumbnail picture
Heard they can’t force you to workout anymore
They can't force individual pt as punishment anymore. So basically if someone does something wrong everyone is on the ground doing push-ups (max 30), and your mti can't have you do it within an hour after you ate
Greg nailed it. PT is mandatory which basically points to the future of passing a PT test. You have to pass the PT test to avoid getting in trouble / getting kicked out. It's not like the army or marines though where they can make you do push ups for getting in trouble.
I’m going for PJ wish me luck
Good Luck!
I ship out in November, super pumped
If you ran track or cross country in high school you will be more than fit for basic training.
I’m going to Kessler for tech school! Ship may 14 job is structural apprentice
Conner Graceffa I was at keesler 🙂
I’m shipping May 14th too. I’m coming from Texas
Good luck!
Why doesn’t the Air Force recruiters ever answer their emails
Because theres probably 1 or 2 guys in the office and they have to respond to multiple people a day, my best advice is to keep calling everyday until you can contact them or do both email and calls
Atomic ransom gotcha. Been emailing a lot. Army said they wouldn’t answer me cause they don’t need anyone but I keep trying.
@@bostmandlow It took me 2 month to get in contact with a recruiter, I set up an appointment with him and I waited 2 week for him to be in the office because he was never there when I went for my appointment
Atomic ransom why are they the only recruiters like that?😂
@@bostmandlow because there isn't many recruiting office for the airforce for example where I live theres only 1 near by compare to other branches that have 4 or more
This really helped me a lot i ship out April 23rd
