- English subtitles!!! The video shows the repair of the wipers at a Porsche 944. Searching the reason of the non working wipers leads to the motor. Thus the motor is dismounted and repaired.

Hallo Jürgen und alle 944 Fans, tolle Reparaturanleitung! Ihr könnt es euch etwas einfacher machen, wenn ihr die 3 Kreuzschlitzschrauben, die den Motor halten, erst im ausgebauten Zustand löst. Hebelt zum Ausbau der Wischereinheit die beiden Kreuzgelenke der Wischerwellen mit einem großen Schraubendreher aus und demontiert das Gestänge dann...zum Zusammenbau einfach mit Wasserpumpenzange die Kugelgelenke wieder auf die Kugelköpfe drücken. Der Ausbau des Motors im eingebauten Zustand ist eine furchtbare Fummelei...VG René

Great job! I'm having similar problem with my 944, the wiper motor is making some high pitch noises. I think the rust inside the motor is the cause.

Dude, your videos on 944 repair are AWESOME !!!! It took me a month to realize that captions in English were a click away. I started with your clutch master & that lead to me tearing the entire car apart, so far so good. Electrical diagram from the shop manuals were a bit of a learning curve, I'm almost a novice - Would you consider making a video explaining how to read, as a refresher for all. Additionally, I want to get an analog DC Power supply like yours, how many amps should i look for in a meter (wiper motor video for example) Thank you, Nick-Ricky
Hi Nick-Ricky, thanks for the kind comment. You are right, I should do a video on electrics in the car. My DC power supply provides 16 A on long term and 20 A for a short time. If you look for a supply with 20 - 30 A you may test any device, except a starter motor. For testing you may also use a battery. Regards, Jürgen

After everything, I am having so much trouble reconnecting the motor with the casing. He makes it look so easy but the magnets keep pulling it off line. HELP
I'm about to replace the clutch on my 944 S2 -89. You don't have a video for that?
My motor made also some high pitch noise before it failed completly. I am sure, you have similar problems with your wiper motor, In case you have an early model, dismounting the motor will be much easier. The treatement of the motor itself is similar,

You should go one step further, Replace the shaft bearing as the water will have damaged that, its a 6000 2RS bearing
Irina wat can be the problem if i cant shut my windowwipermotor off it keeps turning on interval in evry position off the schalter
Wieder ein tolles Video ! ... Ich hoffe, dass mein wischermotor noch lange hebt! Die Geschichte mit der Öl-Wasserkühler Dichtung sättigt mich noch leicht ... aber es is doch immer wieder toll, wenn man jedes mal seinen geliebten 944 komplett zerlegen darf :D ... Grüße Guido (breisgau944)

Howard Smith Hi, this is the typical problem when a car model becomes a classic car. The number of 944 owners, which are rich enough to bring the car for every repair to a garage reduces strongly. The cars have an age of more than 25 years, Even a good car of this age needs several repairs a year. I am always happy when the videos are helping somebody.
I have a problem with my wipers of my Porsche 944 Typ 1. When the switch is on the "OFF" position, the wiper keeps wiping (interval). I replaced the wiperswitch but the problem is still there. You know what could be the problem?
Hallo Jürgen, ein tolles Video. Allerdings bekomme ich den Motor nicht wieder zusammen. Die untere sternförmige Sicherung sitzt genau mittig, trotzdem geht der Motor nicht zu. Was mache ich falsch oder was kann ich tun?

Hello, Thank you very much for your video! I cleaned and greased my front 944 motor and it now works, however, even though power gets to the motor, and both the relay and fuse are good, the wipers still don't function....they start then stop and if I move them by hand they seem to work again. I am going to lubricate the wiper mechanism, but what do you think is the cause of this? I wonder if the switch is an issue, but I can hear the relay click once when I turn the switch and the wipers have come on so it must work. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Jonathan, measure the voltage at the wiper motor or the resistance of the switch. For a test, you may give the volatge (of course with a fuse in between) from the battery to the wiper motor. Greetings, Jürgen

Ich habe einen 1992, 968 Cabrio ohne Klima. Der Scheibenwischermotor macht seit 3 Tagen ziemlich unangenehme Geräusche. Daraufhin hab ich mal gegoogelt und bin auf Deine Videos gestossen. Super Sache und echt hilfreich. Ich wollte mal nachfragen ob Du mir bei der Reparatur helfen könntest. Der 968 hat auch noch keinen Pollenfilter,
die gabs wohl erst ab 1994.
Laut Internet kann man aber das 94er Gebläseoberteil (944 572 105 0) einbauen und dann wär das auch erledigt.
Meine Frage diesbezüglich :"Kannst Du mir da helfen"
+Manolo Miura Hallo Manolo, sicher bin ich mir nicht, aber das andere Oberteil könnte schon passen. Der Wechsel bietet sich jetzt natürlich an, da nach dem Ausbau der Oberteils, der Ausbau des Scheibenwischermotors wesentlich einfacher ist. Problem ist dann etwas die Abdichtung. Die originale Dichtmasse kostet glaube ich ein Vermögen, es sollt aber auch mit normalem Karosseriekleber gehen. Viele Grüße, Jürgen

Könntest Du mir dabei helfen ? (Wischermotor + Gebläseoberteil, falls dieses passt, aber selbstverständl. würde ich vorher versuchen das bei Porsche abzuklären)
Ich habe Saisonkennzeichen auf meinem 968 , d.h. bis zum 31.Oktober darf ich ihn noch fahren, dann muss er in die Garage. Ich wäre total froh wenn ich wenigstens den Wischermotor repariert bekomme vor dem 31.10.

Mein Wischermotor macht seltsame Geräusche.
Diese starten und enden unregelmäßig während der Motor läuft.
Hast du ne Idee was da falsch läuft?
Vieleicht dass die Motorwelle trocken läuft oder frisst?

+Jens Cooper Hallo Jens, so fing es bei mir auch an, das eindringende Wasser führt zur Oxidation. Wenn sich die Teile dann bewegen gibt es Geräusche wie an einer nicht geölten Gartentür. Auf jeden Fall ausbauen und öffnen. Viele Grüße, Jürgen

after doing all of that on my 944 the wiper stuck up so how do you park them ?
Hi, parking back is one of the functions of the motor. The motor gets voltage from the switch, starts to run, but then it is supplied by a permanent voltage. Switching from one to the other supply is done by a mechnical contact in the motor. Thus either this contact is not working or the permanent voltage is missing. Regards, Jürgen
The permanent voltage is there but do you know which mechanical contact in the motor is the one causing that?
