Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.
I had to pause at 15 minutes because my heart couldn't take that many blown opportunities in the same video sequence

I know, That was what bothered me the most initially, and he was looking at that elk in the elk was looking straight back at him and he was moving his head to the right looking back to his buddy or something

As an avid archery elk hunter I absolutely loved the footage in this video! However the amount of blown opportunities caused by silly mistakes that an experienced archery elk hunter should know not to commit in this video drove me crazy! These guys had that elk walking to his deathbed as those cows funneled to the right but they blew it because they wouldn’t hold still and spooked that cow. Elk’s eyes can pick up on the tiniest movement but if you stay completely still often they won’t notice you or think your a normal object in the woods. Get out from behind stuff and put your back to the brush this will let your camo do it’s job, then hold still and if you draw at the right moment you’ll get the shot!

What I will say though as an accomplished whitetail hunter is that bucks can do down right wacky and crazy things when’s there’s a hot doe around. If she don’t leave he’s not either. I can imagine though the adrenaline is dumpinggg when you’ve got 600 pounds running back in forth in front of you. And of course any woodsmen knows it’s not about the kill but the chase. My favorite part is when Drew asks Warb and the other guy to stay back on account of "less movement" 🤣🤣🤣 the bull was at 20 yards looking at him and his bow was just steady moving yet NOT being drawn back. Lmao

I couldn't imagine making a trip on my own dime as a favor to video a friends hunt just to be told to stay out of the way so the dude who can't sit still or draw a bow can hunt without distraction lol. Man I'm glad THP guys don't have these folks on the channel often.

@@Dennisgoyette all you guys are idiots! He did t want to just shoot any bull with a tough draw tag like he had. The unit has big bulls so he held out for a pretty dang nice un! And you don't hunt elk like whitetails most of the time, you run in and get it done when needed. They are loud , rough giant animals that make a tons of noise in this situation.
Just make dang sure they don't smell ya...other than that you can get away with a lot of noise and movement.

All the bulls around him is one thing. That's a tough position to be in, especially with the adrenaline and them running back and forth. However, my girlfriend sits more still than this guy in the woods haha

I was thinking the same thing. I know the camera makes it seem closer but I sure would of been more in a shooting stance so when he stopped in the intersection I would of been ready.

They've had to take down all there hunting videos and there aren't able to make money on any videos for 30 days. It's really shitty that youtube is doing this because their content isn't all that graphic and it's entertaining. Plus most of the people watching are there because they enjoy it.

This will be the only video that has been the crazy hunts for elk. I swear having all the bull and cows running around. Only a full day hunt than plan backing off til tomorrow morning to find and harvest. This hunt was awesome. Congrats to the hunter who got his first elk.

Get aggressive and seldom is noise or a little movement a problem in a rut fest like this. Usually it is because dudes are way too timid!

He says no lighted knocks...after all the effort, I just think that helps so much. Lighted knocks have helped me find my arrow a number of times when I've gotten out of the tree and things look different, and it would be a pain to find the arrow after dark.

Great hunt and great video. Sometimes it's like that. You get so many animals in a frenzy and they're rutting and bugeling and your heart's pumping and your adrenaline is flowing and It's a real crazy scene. When you're in it, it's even more intense. This video showed it all. I've been hunting all my life and I'm 74. Still, when you're there, it's crazy magic.!!! That's why we do it! Nothing else compares!!! Great adventure and video

Private land hunt, they drove the truck up to it to pick it up.

It's rare, but when you are in the middle of one you never forget it. Its happened a few times here in Wyoming and its insane. You, ask yourself if it even real....love it.

Has to be a SUPER low number draw unit judging by the way those elk were acting.
All Arizona tags look like that. We had a great rain season this summer which made for a great rut action this September. Bulls were very active.
