You're supposed to have it washed very clean and moisturized with a conditioner first. Your hair type and thickness need a plant base gel and need to be applied to soaking wet hair. Plus, you have to let it dry completely before manipulating the hair. Most ppl sit under a dryer to prevent so much shrinkage.
In my experience, you have to use a mousse on clean hair. Like I have to use a clarifying shampoo to get my hair to act right with mousse. But it turns out so good!
I think you should try it again on clean hair. I think stylers work best on clean hair
That hair is gorgeous. It looks so moisturized 💦
1) shampoo and condition hair- the hair must be clean for best results
2) apply a LIGHT moisturizer like a leave-in spray NO OIL
3) apply mousse to damp hair. Re-wet before applying if necessary
4) allow to air dry for best definition. Shrinkage will naturally occur
I’m my experience for my type 3C hair I use gel (Camille rose) and her mousse along with nano water (As I Am) to refresh my curls. Soooo much slip and very moisturizing and yes do this on clean hair preferably after using a clarifying shampoo, deep conditioner, and leave in conditioner. Camille’s honey leave is amazing!
I have 2c and 3ab hair. I use gel, moose, and a cream curl enhancer.
I tried the Camille Rose mousse on my hair, and I didn't like it. I have The Doux, but I think I'll be taking it back to Sally's. I need moisture, plus I prefer definition.

Yeah, definitely think it just depends on your hair because I’ve seen a lot of people do it and it looks amazing.

@@eiliyahnahjaee I have a combination of 3c/4a. My hair isn't as thick as it used to be, but it's dense. It's also drier because I'm tryo grey hair.
I like using gels and curly creams. I might give a different mousse a try in the future. Any suggestions?

My hair said absolutely not to just mousse, but it did better when I do UFD's gel and then put the gel on top. I tried the Camille Rose honey.
Totally agree! I done today exactly the same wash and go with The Doux Mos Def mousse and got the same results as you!😢I after a few hours I re dampened my hair and put them in twists! Hopefully can salvage it into a twist out! 🤞

I’m trying to get away from using gels but I can’t get the definition and long lasting (7days) results with anything else
That’s my problem too. Without a gel it only lasts like 2 days.
Have you tried the gel by curls? Their gels are really moisturizing. I use them to pull my hair back in a ponytail

A plant based/organic gel works better, and the hair needs to be soaking wet when applied.
Try it with beeswax 🤔😕
