    My hair does the same. Great on day one and a hot mess on day two. Saw a tip on UA-cam to reapply it on dry hair on day two. It gives me amazing results for days after that. Downside I use a ton of product to get that result. Always looks good but not my go to. And it dries my hair out.

  • @CoachShaunie

    Tip👉 Apply your mousse on slightly damp hair, not soaking wet hair. Doing this allows me to wear my wash and go's for an entire week, because the mousse dries with a slightly firmer hold. 😁 Hope that helps

    The deman brush (or any brush) changes the curl pattern of your hair. Your hair also shrinks more. Also the ends will be really defined but the roots will be undefined which leads to frizz later on.

    While I sometimes use Mousse Def only, I mostly use it on top of UFD. That has given me the best outcome so far. It's still quick drying but with more hold. IDK if that will work for you as we have different essential elements.

    I alternate between Mousse Def and Camille Rose Honey Mousse for my mousse-only wash & goes. Next time you use the mousse, try just using an extra large bonnet without the scrunchies. IMO I think that might be why you had to fluff a bit more to get the look you wanted since you had to work the dents out. I also recommend waiting until the next morning to decide if you want stretch your roots. You might find that after you fluff in the morning that by itself might give you the amount of volume you like.

    Hey Brit! Just wanted to let you know that if you apply it on dry hair the hold is INSANE!! I mean crunchy!..also I usually let mine air dry once I’ve set my hair how I like it. By the time you’re done with the application most of it has dried anyways so o I find it easier to set my hair as I’m applying the product and give a light shake at the end. And lastly I find a bonnet itself holds my shape for me. Just a little shake and fluff in the morning and I’m good. Depending on how well I condition my hair prior to styling I can get about a week even once the crunch resides. Hope this helps! And thanks for sharing your journey ❤❤

You definitely need to be heavy-handed, and use a lot on the roots, plus stretch it more from roots to ends with the scrunchies. Unfortunately this one doesn’t work for me. I get crazy flakes, decent definition but it feels like a bale of hay. I have found that the Camille rose spiked honey mousse has been the best I’ve tried. I would also like to try the pattern mousse because I’ve heard great things about that one too.
    When applying mousse I use a raking AND smoothing technique; fingers only. I initially rake the product through a bit in flat, wide sections then do a smooth/rake/smooth/ release technique that helps clump the curls together. Maybe try that and see if you can get the definition to set better at the roots. Awesome video as always. I always want to wash my hair again after watching you lol.

    Hi❤ brushing the hair contributes to the roots puffing up. so next time maybe try not the brush the hair after the styler and also misting high porosity hair with water or something that has water in it won't help make the hair fall into place. Instead, it will make the hair open to absorb the moisture and it will puff up or swell up and ruin your definition. Water tames frizz and makes it fall only on low porosity hair. i dont believe in mousse only wash and gos for type 4 hair. The hold is just too weak no matter how good the mousse is. Your hair is beautiful Good luck for next time🌸🌸

    I’ve been loving the Pattern mousse! I have about the same hair type as you but its a longer-ish pixie cut right now, so the results are a little different. My hair is not as dense, so I learned if I add a gel or another mousse to the hair shaft it just bogs it down with too much product. though the Pattern mousse is a little more forgiving with an extra product in there I found! I’ll usually mix the gel with the mousse together since that’s what the website says and that works for me! I like the Pattern mousse because it doesn’t dry out my hair 🎉

    You're hair came out great! I love this product, however I'm like you. I like a one and done for the week. I just don't have the time for resets and extra wash day. I had to use Alooooot for it too last, so in the in end the cons out weighed the pros. My fav combo was layering it with the ouidad climate control gel. The out come was great, but I felt like I could use more moisture by day 2. I then tried making a cocktail with the foam and a tiny bit of jojoba oil bc it's a light absorbent oil that works well on my low porosity hair. Last step ouidad CC gel. This was my jam, but I still had to use so much foam it wasn't cost effective. If the foam was sold in larger refill bottle like the design essentials avacodo foam. It has a 32oz you can get for refills. I could see it working. Until next time be blessed. I can't wait to see what mousse you try next💜

    I know I’m tardy to da party, but I’m glad I came across this code. I tried The Doux Big Poppa gel and got outstanding results. A fellow curly girl suggested that I try this mousse. After watching your video, I think I’ll pass on using for a wash-n-go. Contemplating using it for a roller set.

    The Doux Mousse Def has an amazing smell. Right now I am using UFD under Mop Top and it’s working great. I tried to put Mousse Def in between those two to get that smell, but it created a dryness and some minor flaking pairing all three of those together.

    First off, that is "THE FELICIA LEATHERWOOD BRUSH" my love! One thing that is so helpful to note, is that as soon as you pump out the mousse, it is already emulsified! So I'd definitely recommend not rubbing it together in your hands. Maya also snags this as well!

    If you have the new Felicia Leatherwood brush, I would love to hear your thoughts on it and how it compares to the older version. I think you mentioned that you like this one better and a possible upcoming vlog about it? It was always out of stock when I thought about ordering but before I get the new version, I want to see some reviews.

    In my experience I get better results when I use this foam and foams in general on damp towel dried hair starting at the front and then moving towards the back and using a tool to distribute the product. Because of my course surface texture I do need to apply enough to both smooth and clump my natural hair.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  11 місяців тому

      Tfs! I’ve also found out recently It’s better to use on damp hair than wet hair. It’s too late of a product to be using on soaking wet hair.

    I was a mousse def + big poppa (as a topper) girl until you put me on to the kinky curly system. I get more volume if I use the mousse only but in Louisiana I can only do that in the winter. I never try to preserve the length though because it will frizz on you I just shape so I don’t lose definition.

    Hmm I feel like mousse only wash & go’s don’t really do it for me🥴 but your day 1 results were beautiful ! SN: I preserve my wash n go’s the same way.
    Next time, instead of spraying that botanical spray all over (I have it too) spray some on your finger tips & apply to your roots only( not too much) & most of the time I do it with the ouidad oil instead cause it won’t cause frizz. That’ll loosen the roots a bit & then you can shake it out & finish off w/ some ouidad oil spray all over if desired.
    This works for me & my gel wash & go’s.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  Рік тому +1

    I'd say 3 pumps per section per the doux's recommendations in application video. I leave my hair out in the bonnet and try to avoid manipulating it until the next day. When it's dry I also add a little oil (Jojoba oil by pattern) to help lock in my moisture also and lately found out that helps with the shine throughout the week. I also always use camille rose honey leave-in (small amount rubbed in hands per section) because I'm low porosity. It holds up a lot longer with a leave-in. I love the doux. It's my staple product. Yes your hair is getting long I think the leavin will be the best fix for your curls too. 🌹
