NOTES:
The 48 ounce containers for Ascent Series are great. It's really nice to have a secondary container to go along with your full-size 64.
Both 48 ounce containers are narrow, come with a temper, and come with a getting started recipe guide.
They are also the same height as the 64. So whether you have a 48 ounce or the container that came with your Ascent they are the same height when placed on your Vitamix machine.
The 48 oz wet container for ascent can do all the things that you're full size container can do. From smoothies to juices to nut butters to ice creams, it can do at all.
The 48 oz dry container is specifically designed to grind dry grains. This container sends ingredients upward.
If you are thinking about getting just one of the 48 ounce containers, we recommend getting the 48 ounce wet.
Thanks for watching and for your support.

Hey guys, we get a lot of questions about the 48 oz containers for Ascent. Hopefully this video answers yours! Is there something we missed? Let us know. Thanks for watching! 💚 Shalva and Lenny (Life is NOYOKE)
Life is NOYOKE, Thanks for the video! I sure wish they had a 32oz wet, vs the 48 oz!! Any word of that coming down the pipeline? When I had looked at the Vitamix website, it states in the specs that the 64oz wet container is 10.2 H. It states the 48oz wet and dry are both 10.0 H. Seems strange that they state that, yet your level showed they are all level (?). Are the tampers on all 3 interchangeable? You'd hate to damage something by using the wrong tamper! Thanks!
does ascent container fit on a vitamix 5200?
Hello, thank you for a great channel! I finally bought myself a Vitamix a3500i with the accessories cups and bowl. Do I still need to get a dry container or an extra smaller container? I am using it daily and still experimenting doing grains. Thank you 😊
Thank you for all the amazing content and links! I just ordered the 48oz wet container for my A2300 ❤❤❤
When I got my 750, I also got the 32oz container as an additional accessory but that’s the one I ended up using 90% of the time. I am planning on upgrading to the Ascent series and would love a 32 oz
32 works just as well as the 48 -- same minimums 👍
Great info. But please, is 64 ounces container compatible with (vitamix) e310; do they fit each other? Can I replace the container with any other type?
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! And had I not watched until the end I would have never noticed you were pregnant!
There’s always surprises at the end of our videos :)
Thanks. Great info.
Best review ever, thanks
Vitamix. Recently I bought the Explorean model from Costco. Does it have any accesdories ? Thank you.
Can you use dry container for making smoothie.?
Hi thank you so much for the useful contents.. would be Grt if you guys can make some recipes from the book
does the 3500 come with wet or dry blade like by default
Congrats on the baby
Thanks! He or she is not here yet. But once they are, the 6-month countdown to Vitamix baby food begins: lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-baby-food/
what container I use for Indian hard spices?
This was helpfull!
Hey, How can I find a dry container for ascent series in Australia? Can you please let me know or share any affiliate links? Thanks!
Hey there, I would to know does the dry container would make you feel and give you noticeable results because when I use my 64 container I get a lot stuck on the bottom of the blade, I wonder it’s because too wide? Or because the type of the blade is used. Because normally I do not use high amount.
When making thick blends in a low-profile 64 ounce container, you'll need to make a sufficient amount to cover the blade and reach the tamper. Dry grains containers are specialty items for grinding flours and other dry grains.
Can I still make a chocolate malted milk shake in the dry container?
I went from a bag of garbanzo beans and an egg to cooked pasta on the plate in ten minutes using the grains container and a pasta maker. Great stuff!
oh that's awesome!
i want a pasta maker!
I have one question. Could I remove the blade of Ascent containers using the wrench 15596 ? The shape of bottom of ascent container is hexagon. However they had the different shapes in all the blade removal demonstration clips using wrench 15596 I've ever seen. they had circle with groove.
Probably not the best idea. The blades aren't supposed to be removed, and it could violate the warranty if you screw around with it
Did those 48 oz containers come in that brown box only?
Feels like u guys have a different kitchen background in every video!
we've been doing this a while and have bounced between apartments
For the ascent series containers, are the lids plastic-y enough to break easily if it were to drop on the floor? My country doesn’t sell any vitamix series but the ascent series so I have very limited choices. I was wondering if the lids on previous series are more durable than the clear ones on the ascent series? Any help would be amazing. Thank you!
they're quite durable -- what country?
more detail--we've dropped them on the our concrete floor several times . and by we i mean the baby has dropped them
Australia. More detail? What do you mean?
Congrats on the baby btw! I wish her/him a long, healthy and happy life.
Do you think using your 48 wet would be good enough to do humos and peanut butter, almond butter?
Hi there. Thick, wet blends like hummus and nut butter are tasks best done in the a wet container lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-nut-butters/#dry-container
I really really wish Vitamix would allow the choice of container size you want with the machine. I would rarely ever use or need the 64 oz container. The 48 oz wet would definitely suit my 3 person family needs. Hate having to shell out more money and store the 64 and never use it.
I have the vitamix 6300 are the blender cup fits my blender.???I wanted to to buy a smaller cup, the one the comes with my blender is too big.
check out the personal cup adapter bit.ly/2wt4YKr
Is the 32 oz more narrow than the 48 oz?
is the 48 oz more narrow than the 64 oz low profile?
Which of the two, 32 oz and 48 oz, would you say is the equivalent to the tall 64 oz? (In narrowness)
(Referring to the Pro Series wet blades in all questions).
Im trying to figure out which container is best for making banana ice cream and nut butters.
Will a 32 oz be available for the Ascent Series soon?
Thank you.
Hi! The 32 oz and 48 oz are the same width. The 48 is more narrow than the 64 oz low profile. The 32 and 48 both very similar to the tall 64 oz container. If you have an Ascent and want to make small batches of banana ice cream and nut butters, get the 48 oz wet container. There is no plan to offer a 32 ounce container for Ascent Series. This link is for the Ascent Series 48 ounce container and comes with free shipping bit.ly/2w8742C
Hi!
So the 48 oz (from the Pro Series) and 32 oz (from the Pro Series) is equal narrow.
And if I understand it correctly the 48 oz (from the Ascent Series) and 32 oz (from the Pro Series) is also equal narrow.
Would you recommend the 48 oz over the 32 oz if I went with a Vitamix Pro 300/750?
If they are both equal narrow it feels better to go with the 48 oz.
Thank you for your informative videos!
Hi, yeah, they're equally narrow at the top and bottom. The 48 oz is slightly wider towards the middle; bulk, if you will. If you go with the Pro 750, we recommend the 32 oz. Same capabilities with less bulk.
I just want to make a little nut butter or a little sauce, could you recommend me to buy wet or dry?
Wet 👍 bit.ly/Ascent48thruLINY
Is the 48 oz Ascent container as narrow as the 32 oz container? I have narrowed it down to this being the deciding factor on a G750 or Ascent model as I have to be able to do small batches and single smoothies. I guess what I need to know is the minimum amounts of both? Are they the same? Thanks for your video :)
The 32 and 48 are the same dimensions at the bottom near the blade. Equally narrow. Thus, minimum batch size is the same.
Thanks for the kind words and support of our work. :)
i keep looking for input on whether I even need a 48oz container? i've used my VM 64oz Ascent at least once a day for a couple of years (IT"S AMAZING), usually for a smoothie because i don't have the discipline to eat a gazillion servings of fruit and veggies every day on a whole food plant based diet (WFPBD). Mine ends up being about 26oz, but it has 3 servings of greens, 4 of fruit, flax and ginger root. I guess i could fit all of that in a 48oz? I also make my own bread from Einkorn wheat and make the flour fresh from wheat berries. i am alone, the berries last forever, unlike flour, so fresh is the way to go. i use the same 64oz container to make flour and it makes perfect flour in 45 seconds, no tamping. It's always like another time around the fish bowl for me when i sift the flour after and cannot find one flaw. I've only done the wheat, but i cannot figure out why i need a dry or 48oz wet container? i have a small kitchen appliance fetish, someone help me justify buying one of these containers?
nice to have, for sure if you're into grinding your own grains
can I use wet container for grinding coffee beans? Would it damage the blade? Do you have video for using wet container for grinding coffee?
Probably not a good idea. The dry container is more built for it and still doesn't do a perfect job
Is it recommended to use the dry or wet container for nut butters?
great question -- wet. more here lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-containers/#dry-vs-wet
They are not available in UK. Can I use one for all (this 64 oz.)? I wish to grinding coffee beans and make a flour. 😁
yup you can! lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-containers
are there any differences in the self-detect programs on the a3500 between the wet and dry containers? are the programs different between the 64 and 48, like there are with the cups? any max speed differences?
Getting an answer from product management on this. Stand by. Thanks.
hear anything from them?
Hey, yeah, apparently the two 48oz containers have a different "tag" and the 'programs reset' but I'm not sure this is communicated to the user since the 'icons are static'. So I do think the programs on the 3500 change. How exactly, I'm not sure. I'll keep pushing back with Vitamix Product Management and see if I can get an official answer. In the mean time, I'll see if I can schedule an in-home test with the containers we have.
Show how the dam containers are used
I utilized your link to purchase a black-stainless A3500 last year; it is an amazing machine! Incidentally, it is my fourth Vitamix blender. I also have the perfect blend scale, the 48 oz wet container, the 8 oz & 20 oz individual cups, as well as the Aer-container (have yet to use), and misc other accessories e.g. Jodi Berg cookbook, spatula’s, tamper holder, etc. What I don't have is a dry container. I am curious if you think I should purchase one to occasionally grind cornmeal and flour (once or twice/year).
I had a dry container with both my 5000 and 5200 but never used it, not even once. That said, is there an appreciable difference between the smoothness of the grind between the two containers? Additionally, why did I purchase the Aer container? What is its intended use? My wife thinks I am crazy for purchasing it. Please help me explain why it was a good purchase. Sorry for so many questions, but I usually save them up, as evidenced by this post. Your reply is appreciated in advance!
You can absolutely grind your own cornmeal in a regular container. The big reason to get a purpose-built dry container: grinding dry grains can / will leave some scratches on the walls of your container. So if you want to keep your main container as shiny as possible, that's a reason to get a dedicated dry grains.
Aer disc container: People like them for making things with dairy milk. Cold foams, things like that. And they're really great for making mojitos. ua-cam.com/video/fSPCZCyf4kg/v-deo.html
We appreciate your support over the years
Life is NOYOKE, thank you for the quick response. I will reach out to you for another link when I am ready to purchase the dry container. As for the Aer disc container, I am not much of an alcohol consumer so I am not likely to make a mojito, but I have it for those just in case situations. Thanks for amazing content!
Can we use the old metal containers from like the 3500 to do grains?
No, won't fit.
My concern is the microplastics created from the friction and the wearing down of the inside of the container
It's food grade plastic that will pass right through your system. You have nothing to worry about.
Do the dry grains scratch the dry grains container too since it's also plastic?
Yes, eventually it could show some wear. Mine after two years still looks like new and I grind hard, and soft wheat in it quite often since I bake all my bread.
Question: I recently received my 48 oz Ascent wet container with self-detect it was hard to rotate and unlock the vent lid from the main lid and once i did it was then hard to rotate it and align back to the line of the lock position.. Just wanted to ask if the vent lid is supposed to fit really tight on the main lid or is this a defect?? I returned it for another one but it has the same issue. (The vent lid of my 64 oz Ascent wet container is not so tight and rotates and aligns easily to the lock position as well as unlock position on the main lid.)
They're supposed to be pretty tight! Even if it does feel a little too tight at first, it should become more smooth over time
@@LINY Ok..Thanks! Hope it doesn't crack or break while turning!!
How does the dry container work with making smoothies and general wet batches would you know please? There's a special offer on in a local store for the Creations 2 model (same base as the 5200 I believe other than an extra amp of power to deal with the fan always being on), that comes with the taller 64oz jar and a 32oz dry jar. I think it's very important to have the smaller jar for smaller quantities, so I'm just wondering would it be better to never use the dry one that's included for free, try flog it on ebay and then with that money, buy the wet one instead? :D
Any feedback would be great!
We like a 48 or 32 oz WET container as our secondary one. Not sure about extra amps or fans -- sounds like marketing noise from someone who doesn't know the truth
This was the comparison I read here: gotgreensrevolution.com/vitamix-creations/
But do you have any experience of how the dry jar deals with wet ingredients like smoothies etc? Does it not blend them properly?
The dry grains container *can* blend wet ingredients. It's just not designed for it and thus doesn't do it as well as the wet one. Also, the dry grains container may have a tough time with thicker blends like ice cream.
Thanks for the info :)
Can I chop vegetables, carrot, onions, etc... with the wet container?
sure can yup lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-faq/#food-processor
so i got the E310 for christmas and i have no idea if the blades are wet or dry. And the box or lid does not say. Would you know? its 48 ozs container.
Every container is wet unless otherwise specified!
Oh well that’s good to know! Thank you for that
Can you grind grains into flour using the wet container? Can you make smoothies using the dry container?
Not fine flour. Not great smoothies. But in theory, yes.
@@LINY Thank you for the info.
What is best for kale? I hate it when it's grainy and grinds the back of my throat because most blenders can't pulverize kale in smoothies
Hi, can you make a small amount of hummus or nut butter in the 8oz container?
you cannot, unfortunately
Life is NOYOKE: is it the blades in the small container, I think you said they are blunt?
@@H2Dwoat it's because you need a tamper to make those, usually and the personal containers are not compatible with a tamper.
Life is NOYOKE: Doh! of course, thanks for that?
Do you know why vitamix doesn't use glass for their cups?
I guess its because the 2.2 horse power can crack it. And the damage would be very harmful to the user.
Popcorn salt is essentially super extra fine, powdered salt… Can you do a video on whether a vitamix will work to make this???
Fun! Adding it to backlog!
32 weeks pregnant!
And now you have a beautiful baby!!
Hi,
Can I use my 32 oz container on Ascent Series? Thanks!
Unfortunately no. You'll need one of the self-detect containers. This 48 oz is equivalent to your 32 -- same capabilities bit.ly/2w8742C
Really wish they’d come out with the 32 oz for the ascent...and a taller 64!
Hi there
Will my Vitamix wet container suffice for grinding coffee beans? I grind them for just under 15 seconds each time, I'm hoping that it won't get scratched/damaged. Thanks!
It will work; just not as well as a dry grains container. And, no matter what container you use, it will cause some normal (but visible) wear on the inside of the container.
How can l order the 48 ounce wet container in Uk
The US 48oz container won't work on the UK euro or Australian versions due to the lid lock mechanism
Logan Nguyen
Good to know 🙁 thank you very much
Support at Vitamix Australia suggested the 48oz container could be released within the next 6-12 months for Australian market.. I'm not sure about the UK market
Logan Nguyen
🙏
It is impossible to buy these (48 oz containers) in Europe. They are not available in Germany nor in UK, and I think many of us would love to get some of those. Can you convince Vivamix Company to introduce 48 oz (and other equipment) onto the Europen market? It even seems that buying them from US market will not solve the problem as they are not working due to SELF DETECT system. Please help us Europeans :)
thank you for this -- i will do my best for ya
I still don't really understand the dry container. The wet container can grind grains just fine. Plus if we really cared about keeping our primary container looking nice, then why not just get a second wet container?
I also think this to be a weird marketing strategy. It gives the impression that for the Vitamix to grind grains you have to get a specialty container and this makes it seem like it can't do everything out of the box.
Yeah, I see what you're saying. It's a specialty item; those that need it see the value. Those that don't need it, but are curious, are often confused.
And that's why we always recommend the secondary wet container. :)
Others like to mill their own flour, with this specialty container it will pay itself in no time. Consumers who are not that nerd about their food intake can just ignore this container.
Hi guys, can you let people outside US and Canada that 48oz (1.4l) container bought from US /Canada will NOT be recognised by European Ascent blenders. I learnt it hard way
wish we could make this happen. email Vitamix and ask?
I called them and they confirmed it
Really frustrating, I think this just happened to us 😞
Why does the dry container have room for a tamper? Seems like a mistake to me.
Why do men have nipples? I think it's kind of the same idea.
Life is NOYOKE I think it's laziness. Vitamix probably wants to save some money by using the same. But when you spend that kind of money on a blender and a dry container you don't want to see the manufacturer doing short cuts.
You can use the dry grains container to make things like nut butter. And for that, you need to use the tamper. So I'm thinking they left it in to you had the option. :)
I tried many websites not available in Uk 😔

a real grain mill costs less than this dry grains plastic container. also gives you better control on the consistency and doesnt heat up your flour. when its heated too much, it destroys the nutrients.
Why did Vitamix stop making glass containers? That would solve the issue of container damage from normal use (friction heat and abrasion) and from cleaning and sanitizing. Can they make glass containers for the new machines please? Stainless steel is great but I also like to see it but hate the idea of eating chemicals from the plastics. Glass also looks like new forever and resale value is higher as a result. The plastic containers need to be replaced over time but aren’t priced to be disposable. I just don’t understand why plastic is still being used when we know it’s unhealthy, bad for the environment, and less durable.
The glass ones break too easily lifeisnoyoke.com/which-vitamix-to-buy/#bpa-free
Thank you pretty❤ I love your videos, very helpful.Tell your husband he has a very beautiful wife.
I wish Vitamix would out with a 74-ounce container.
When you're trying to do meal replacement smoothies, there's just not enough room in the 64-ounce container to get the job done.
Am I the only one thinking just use less? You don't need new one just to make smaller batches. Just don't fill it up. The dry one is made differently so I should go with that.
For thicker blends like nut butters or hummus or ice cream, you need to reach the minimum batch size (MBS). MBS is smaller on these narrow, 48 oz containers.
Life is NOYOKE, I keep hearing about the MBS for the 48 vs 64 oz container; however, I'd like to know what the minimum is for the 64 oz. I know it was mentioned that the dry container's blade is different than the wet. I understand why....I understand that dry ingredients will scratch the container. Will dry ingredients damage a wet ingredient blade? The containers are expensive (to have wet & dry); however, I wouldn't want to damage a wet blade. Hope that makes sense. I haven't decided which unit to buy yet. By the way, just received a newsletter/recipe email from you...THANKS! All the info is really going to be helpful!
Minimum batch size depends on type of blend. Thick blend like nut butter or hummus is 3 or 4 cups. Some all fruit smoothies can be as small as 1 cup (although, not sure why you'd want to make a smoothie that small). This might help ya lifeisnoyoke.com/which-vitamix-to-buy/#wide-container
Also, dry ingredients will not damage a wet ingredient blade. Here's more on the dry grains container: lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-dry-grains
Also, feel free to reply to any of our emails -- it goes directly to our inbox and we are pretty responsive during normal business hours. :)
Life is NOYOKE, Thanks so much for your quick reply! I assume the 'thick blend' MBS (approx 3-4 cups) is for the 64 oz (?). I REALLY appreciate you providing the links. I am now off to get educated!! :)
The small to go containers suck. It’s not worktop buy these at all. Even my wife stated“ it’s easier just to make the drink/ mix in the 64 or 48 containers) don’t buy the to go, buy the food processor instead with your saved money
Wet for sure.
