This video is very helpful with step by step for I am start up a server for me and my friends. But I would like to possible see a video about running muntilple servers on the same system and possible adding on mods to a server
Hi, Running multiple servers on the same system is an interesting topic, and one that I hope to cover in the near future! Adding mods to a server is actually fairly straight forward - all you need to do is download the mods and then add them to the "mods" folder in the server location (if the folder doesn't exist then just create it). Depending on the mod you might need to create a new world, and of course both you and anyone else joining will need the mod installed. locally.
I'm having a problem with port forwarding, I've done this before, 3 years ago. But now nothing works, I've tried just about everything, manually added the ports inbound/outbound and every single .exe with the word "java" in it. and it doesn't work.
If you're using RDP then presumably you are connecting to a remote server - if this server isn't on your network and is with a hosting service provider, then no you shouldn't need to port forward, you should just need to open the relevant firewall ports with that provider
Aaamazing. I'll come back to this, when I have to think about this. More specifically, I'd like to convert an old PC into a server, as to allocate all of its resources to it and have it running 24/7. Is that something that this does, or is it comparable to an application that lets you host a server from your PC? The former I think, would be a little more useful, because just hosting a server is the equivalent to opening a world to LAN and sharing the connection, which to say, doesn't allow other people to play on the world if the host isn't online at the time.

To those of you have an error when the file opens after a short second, you need to uninstall and download Java 20. You Java is outdated. Uninstall everything else Java related as well.
Hi, your best bet is to download an older version. There are a few ways to do this but one way that I've done personally is using mcversions.net. Here you can search for the version you want, click download and then select the server file for that version. Whilst I've had no issues with this, please be aware that this is a third party site and you do this at your own risk.

Does the batch file definitely contain the right server name that matches to the server file? Have you tried following the notice in the description to make sure the server itself runs correctly?
Usually this is due to an issue with the configuration file. If you haven't installed mods (the other usual culprit) then check your server properties file to make sure that there are no errors there, and try downloading a default copy and inserting that if needed. If that doesn't work then you may need to check your error logs against what you can find online for further help.

follow your guide but after i click the batch file nothing happens. i see the command window pop up for a second then it just closes and my folder does not get filled up with the files. any clue on how to fix that?
Try running the server file (the one ending .jar) directly by double clicking it. If that doesn't work then it may be that Java was not installed correctly, so you may need to fix that.
@Freshly-picked-Memes Hi, the batch file is how you change the amount of RAM allocated. You may want to check if you are running a 32 bit or 64 bit OS - if you are running a 32 bit OS then the maximum amount of RAM you can allocate is 1GB, which would also explain why the batch file isn't working. If this is the case then I'm afraid there isn't a way around this asides from using a device with a 64bit OS, or running the server remotely.
im watching this tutorial only now, but i don't understand why it doesn't work, im trying everything but nothing, i create che batch file correctly, i double click on and it opens for just 1 millisecond and nothing more
Just to check, is a UELA file appearing in your server directory? If not then try and run the the server file (.jar) directly and see if that file appears. If not then this could be an issue with outdated java, so make sure to check that.
This will work on any machine that has the specifications needed to run a Minecraft server, as long as you also implement port forwarding (which is not covered in this video)
Hi, if your server host gives you access to the server files (either by file manager or FTP) then you'll be able to download the world files and then import them to whatever server you plan to host on next - best bet is to ask your current host how to download your world from their servers
There's a few reasons this can happen, sometimes it's down to java not being installed correctly so that might be worth checking Also try running the .jar file directly rather than through the batch file to start with, just in case there's an issue with that
The most common cause for this issue is the wrong version of Java being installed, so make sure to check that first. If that is definitely up to date, try running the server file (.jar) directly rather than through the batch file. If you still don't have the eula file after that then you could always make your own instead - simply create a .txt file in your server directory called "eula.txt", and paste in the below: eula=true

@Memes_24.7 I had a similar problem when I was trying to allocate 10gb of ram, switched it to 11 and it worked fine.
i think u forgot to run the jdk cuz he didnt show u that
he only said it
im watching this tutorial only now, but i don't understand why it doesn't work, im trying everything but nothing, i create che batch file correctly, i double click on and it opens for just 1 millisecond and nothing more
Just to check, is a UELA file appearing in your server directory? If not then try and run the the server file (.jar) directly and see if that file appears.
If not then this could be an issue with outdated java, so make sure to check that.
try naming your jar file as just "minecraft_server" while leaving the batch file as "java -Xms1024M -Xmx2048M -jar minecraft_server.jar --nogui"
I have a issue of no files being added such as the eula file when i run the .bat file
You have to install the JDK
How to transfer the world from the old server
Im on laptop. Does these steps work my hp 17.3 inch laptop ?
This will work on any machine that has the specifications needed to run a Minecraft server, as long as you also implement port forwarding (which is not covered in this video)
Is this similar for bedrock
THE BAT DOESN'T WORK HELPPPPPPPPP
hey i am about to do this i was using aternos before but wanted to ask is there any way i can get that world and host it on my computer from now on?
Hi, if your server host gives you access to the server files (either by file manager or FTP) then you'll be able to download the world files and then import them to whatever server you plan to host on next - best bet is to ask your current host how to download your world from their servers
@@fasthosts Hi i did it i got the world files what next since i really do not understand
why eula txt. file didn't arive at the folder? any suggestions?
There's a few reasons this can happen, sometimes it's down to java not being installed correctly so that might be worth checking
Also try running the .jar file directly rather than through the batch file to start with, just in case there's an issue with that
i have a little problem. the EULA and the other filer are not there. how do i get them to show up?
Try opening the server file
the server didn’t work when I put my up address in. Can you please help?
Followed directions to a T and I’m not getting the EULA folder what do I do?
The most common cause for this issue is the wrong version of Java being installed, so make sure to check that first.
If that is definitely up to date, try running the server file (.jar) directly rather than through the batch file. If you still don't have the eula file after that then you could always make your own instead - simply create a .txt file in your server directory called "eula.txt", and paste in the below:
eula=true
When I try to connect to my server i get the message "Connection timed out: no further information" does someone have an idea on what to do?
how can i find my server ip
