These mice are a terrific option for many with wrist mobility issues, arthritis, RSI etc and I know a couple people in a work environment who have benefited from these are go style mouses. It’s great to see these devices available for those who need them 👍🥰😇
This is a very good review! You mentioned a lot of details which for someone may be an important consideration (e.g. unifying vs bolt dongle, smartwheel vs freewheel, no onboard memory). Much appreciated! Keep up the great work!
that grey logitech made me so happy at first but it died after JUST 1 year. the price is pretty high considering it's not for gaming but more to take care of your wrist if you work for hours and hours (I think I was using it around 14hrs per day). at some point left click had to be clicked like SEVEN times to work. I would be willing to try the lift and give logitech's vertical mouse a second chance but I do have to advice to be careful with the other one if you ever find it! thank yo u for this review!
I have tested alot of vertical options and I was not happy with the MX Vertical because of the sitz. So I ordered the Lift because it seemed better for my hands. Sadly all the plus points on the vertical - the lift doesn't have those. Not enough grip and feels cheaper that the Vertical. Long story short. I'm using the MX vertical now because of the less amount of compromises. There is a Lenovo option that looks even better. Might try that one soon.
The MX mice are also completely wireless. They use the USB port ONLY for charging. The mouse is still communicating to the computer via Bluetooth or the adapter even when you have the cable connected.
Nice review of the mouse I just got my hands on one, Logitech lift . Super easy to set up just switch it on and the Bluetooth picked it up I was actually looking for the manual on how to period so it’s really very very easy. I think the only thing I had a little bit of difficulty understanding was the small button and the free scrawling wheel which I’ve never used before so that’s a bit new to me.It’s pretty comfortable, especially if you’re struggling with Wrist issues or carpel tunnel I would definitely say to get it but today is the first day of using it and it is really comfortable in terms of hand placement. It’s amazing how naturally my hand is resting on this mouse, as compared to me turning my whole hand face down when I’m using the normal type of mouse. It’s also a nice looking mouse in terms of colour it looks like the Old School keyboards a question I have is if I’m using an iPad can I customise the buttons or do I need a computer or a Mac book to customise the buttons. Thanks for the video keep making more 😌👍🏼 For me the selling point of this mouse is comfortable hand placement, did absolutely silent clicks especially if you work in an office where it’s really really quiet, the design is not bad It depends on which angle you look at it from top view it’s nice it looks like a teardrop but from the right side it kind of looks like Classical mouse.
Very key thing for me, for I do love white colored mice. They have one fatal flaw on all that I've used so far. It's the discoloration (yellow staining) of the area's you make contact with. For all current users, has anyone experienced said discoloration on this Lift Vertical mouse? Thanks
I'm considering the lift over the MX just because of the standard AA battery. I have rechargeable AAs and even if you don't have them, it's a very standard and easy to find battery. My current MX master's battery degraded to the point of working for just a day. I searched for a replacement battery, bought a new one off Amazon and now it lasts for a whole week (it should last at least a month with the original battery). So I'm sick and tired of these custom batteries. That's the reason I'm still using wired mice, keyboards and earphones. I tend to buy what I like and plan to use it for a long time. Now I have to retire a perfectly good mouse just because the battery died and I can't change it. Lame.
I adore how silent the clicks are. I've been trying to decide between this and the mx master 3s, which they have also made much more quiet. Though not as quiet as this one (Beside the side buttons it's ridiculous how loud they kept them).
I was thinking I'd buy one until I found out it has no wired mode. For now I'm using a Zelotes C-18, with a Kalih rotary encoder I soldered into it for the mouse wheel, because the one it came with started malfunctioning.
I noticed as a leftie, that I’ve always kept left primary click. But with this mouse, that somehow seemed unantural, and I had to swtich the keys (right primary click). When I use normal mouse again, it still feels natural to have left primary click.
Anyone using this mouse, if the index finger is extending behind the mouse- that means it is too small for your hand size? In all the videos I see people resting their index finger about 0,5-1cm before the outer border of the mouse (based on the logitech sizing recommendations, logitech lift vertical left should be the correct option for my hand size, but I feel like they are not taking into consideration the different finger lengths)
The finger length isn't exactly important here since I tend to park my palms a little bit further to the back anyway. The palm size matters more as the mouse wouldn't be able to be grabbed if it's too small.
damn, the rechargable battery option no longer being a thing in this mouse is a dealbreaker for me. I will go for the MX vertical and hopefully it solves my wrist pain.
I think the size of the mouse should be your top priority. I get your concern regarding the battery - especially since the Lift can't be used in wired mode. There are pros and cons.
Same boat with me then, I stuck with the MX Vertical because of it's just more comfortable. I do wish Logitech to update the MX Vertical with the Lift's new scroll wheel, though.
I would love the Vertical if it would have a just a tad smaller size available. My hand is a bit odd where the Lift is too short in length, but the Vertical too high from the desk to be comfortable.
Thanks for your review. Found it really helpful especially describing you using it for gaming too. I game a bit after work and was skeptical if the Lift is up to the job.
Hi, my hand is 18 inches; but it feels small, I went to the store the MX vertical feels better size wise. Should I give it more time????2nd day on it. It feels like I have to remove my had to hit the right and scroll maybe just grip issues.
@@TechCritter I liked it; but I likes the MX vertical better. 1) clicker has more movement. 2) clicker clicks ! 3) bigger this is a personal thing. The lift ha 1) doesn't have enough movement in the clickers. 2) doesn't click so I'm not sure if I clicked or missed. I'm not certain all the software is compatible with work security. That is no downloading allowed but basics work. For the high price I will hold off on the MX vertical, for now. The vertical designs make for less muscular tightness. Thanks great review.
Great review. Succinct and on point! One thing to check - would you know if the 'profile' switching can be done via assigning a button on the mouse, instead of having to press the designated button at the bottom of the mouse? For context, I am using the M720 that has the '1,2,3' selector on the top of the mouse, which i find more convenient when switching machines. (M720 ships with the MK850 keyboard combo set).
Thanks, I've just bought one but do you think a mouse pad with a wrist support is beneficial to use in conjunction with this or is it better with just the mouse?
Hey, thanks for this video ! I have a pretty dumb question, but could you game with this mouse ? Reason is i find ambi mices not that comfortables and I am left handed. I was wondering if the sensor would be good enough mainly.
I am left handed too, actually. But I've been using computer mouse with my right hand - so our experiences are different. For me though, I still play FPS games using the Logitech MX Vertical - and so far so good. Definitely feels weird but doable.
Hey. I can choose which mouse to buy, both products are available for me, both products will cost the same for me. I have hands exactly in your size. What product do you recommend me to buy? Thanks It's really needed for me
If you need it urgently, I recommend you get the MX Vertical. It fits my hand better. However, like what I mentioned in the video, the design is due for an update - but I don't know if Logitech will release an updated design any time soon.
I bought both to try them out. My hand is close to 8 inches. I want to like the Lift more, because it's cheaper, but the MX Vertical's larger size is definitely more comfortable to me. I enjoy using the Lift, however, I have to bend my fingers to click right or left, and I feel that my hand is slightly too big for it, and the bottom of my hand is solidly in the desk. That doesn't happen with the Vertical where the fingers stay in the same place as I use it. I have a longstanding wrist injury, and since I started using these, the wrist feels slightly better while using, but now, using my computer without either of the Logitech mice feels a LOT WORSE, to the point that my wrist starts quickly hurting if I'm not using it.
can someone please confirm if simple keystrokes like CTRL/CMD+F can be assigned to side buttons? or at least single keys like Backspace, with Options+ and this mouse
Now this is a tough decision. I'd say go for ergonomic mouse. I manage to get a vertical mouse right when my wrist was starting to show some problems, got the MX Vertical and thankfully managed fixed the issue.
Get the lift. I have the pebble and I’m looking into getting the lift because I’m developing wrist strain. The pebble is nice, pretty, works well and is very silent but you will wish you went for the ergonomic mouse if you start to get wrist pain.
I would definitely recommend you to get the lift the pebble looks cute but in terms of your wrist if you’re going to be using the mouse heavily protect ur Wrist.
vertical mice are cool but what do you guys think about a vertical mousepad MouseRamp by orb control. I been using it with my regular mouse and it still gets my hand in a neutral posture. any thoughts?
Depends on your personal preference, actually. Our colleague uses trackballs and he said he prefer trackballs over vertical mice. However, I prefer vertical mice since it offers better control and I can also play FPS games on the side.
hi, how is about middle button press? I have mx vertical but the middle button press is so heavy. I need the lighter to hold while panning camera (using 3d modelling software)
Oooo middle click. I think I understand why you said it's heavy. There is no lateral counterforce while middle-clicking. The Lift is a bit softer but I'd still say you need to place your thumb to "pinch" the middle click.
The piece of paper inside the box is not a user manual. The printing on the cardboard box is not a user manual either. I cannot find a user manual for this mouse, and I can't figure out the simplest things about it, so I am bringing it back to the store.
