@Ken Abroad: Hello Ken, i'm also from Germany and like to travel the world. My wife is from the Philippines, so we are there every 2 years. In general we take the white taxis, which are cheaper than the yellow ones and pay less than 200 Pesos for a ride from the airport to Stone House Hotel, which is next to Robinson's place in Ermita; so a little bit further from the airport than the Hop Inn . But be sure, that the taxi driver is o.k as sometimes bad things happen. Good travels in the Phils and may God bless you and protect you on your ways - Kind regards, Manfred ... By the way - thank you is pronounced: salAAmat, not salamaTT !!!
Glad you decided to head to the Phillipines. Feeling excited just as you. Exploring a new country, new cultures, new foods, getting to know the locals, offbeaten path adventures. Yup, expecting a new wave of subscribers to join and follow you. I have seen quite a number of content creators experiencing sudden surge in viewership and subscribers. Glad to be on this journey, can't wait to see what's next... Yup, pretty curious to go to the Phillipines myself as well..... As always stay safe and take care mate.....
Welcome to the Philippines Ken! May you stay safe and be happy. Try taking ferries to go thru Cebu (amazing food, historical sites), Bacolod (amazing food, natural scenery), Iloilo (amazing food, historical sites) then bus from Iloilo to Boracay (about 5 hours) to see more of the country that's not so commonly seen. Try Bicol as well for the white beaches, more amazing food and natural wonders. If you plan right, you can ferry thru these Visayan places and get an uncommon perspective to this part of the Philippines.
Good luck to you in your new country Ken. I do enjoy your travel parts of the vlog as well as the street experience etc. The food looked very tasty. I imagine you'll go there again? Be safe and well in the Philippines Mein Freund 🏴🏴🇵🇭🙏
Ken, you will find Filipino people to be very friendly, warm and hospitable. Also, most speak English so it will be easy for you to navigate. I suggest you visit Manila, Makati, Baguio City, Davao and the islands of Cebu, Boracay and Palawan. Palawan especially is beautiful. Enjoy yr stay and travels!
20 years ago in Metro Manila there was only 1 business district which is Makati. Now there are everywhere, the biggest of them is BGC. (See vlogs @BGC Philippines)
Hi Ken your in Philippine now , we’re glad your in our country.. watching in Malaysia, always watching you in UA-cam with my boss mother.. take care Ken .. & God bless you always 🙏❤️
Yaayy, it's awesome to follow you along exploring Manila on Day 1. First impression of the locals at the street food stalls there are friendly and very welcoming. Typical question asked : "Are you married?" 😂haha. Good of the ladies there to teach you a few new words. Wow, the first street food looks interesting...a great experience, mixing rice and noodles in the broth....then buying an ice cream from a push cart vendor. Good of you, Ken to support this type of small businesses. Fun and interesting video, Ken. Thanks and can't wait for the next one.
I always do the same when I arrive in a new country - get cash, then a sim card - before I leave the airport - have learned the hard way what happens if you don't. Makes it ever so much easier for navigating, getting a taxi, etc.
Enjoy your trip....the people are fantastic and so welcoming...so friendly and most speak English but you can always ask for help if you get confused and someone will help......as with all foreigners you will learn what is a good and what to steer clear of., but do not worry it is all part of the experience, learn to say no.....just say hindy po and most will walk away and leave you alone...it means no thankyou...
Welcome to the Philippines Sir Ken, I've watched your videos before when you were in Sabah , Glad you came to visit the PH , enjoy your stay here and be safe . 🤙

In your area in Malate, Manilay you can visit nearby Intramuros, Fort Santiago, Luneta Park, China town Manila and Mall of Asia in Pasay. If you want modern Manila visit Greenbelt, Ayala Ave in Makati City and Venice canal mall and High street in BGC. Welcome to Manila
Have fun Ken. The people there are lovely, majority speak excellent English and are extremely passionate about their beloved country. The food will take a bit of getting used to as totally different to Thailand. Check out Jollibee, their favourite fast food chain.
Try to go to Tagaytay…to see the smallest volcano surrounded by a lake and a lake inside the volcano..only an hour or so from Manila…you can take a bus or rent a motorbike.
try the "Sizzling tofu" and pair it garlic fried rice from Maxs restaurant near your hotel.. in the streets not usual coffee..if there is its all instant coffee only.. no tea...seldom youll see quality coffee n the streets..
Glad to see you doing all of SE Asia, my fav region! I have been to all of its countries and will def retire there - just can't decide which country! By the way, Congrats on your over 100,000 subscribers!! When I started watching you when we were both stuck in Malaysia over 2 years you had less than 10K. That is awesome and well-deserved. Best of luck going forward!! (PS - I just finished two months in Africa - it was awesome - you have to go there after Asia!!)

While in (Metro) Manila, you may go to the following places: - Intramuros (to see the Spanish influence) - Binondo (oldest Chinatown in the world) - BGC (business district) - Venice Mall (it's in BGC) - Makati (business district) - Mall of Asia (biggest mall) After Manila, you may visit the following islands - El Nido, Palawan - Coron, Palawan - Boracay - Cebu City - Moalboal, Cebu (Southern Cebu) - Oslob, Cebu (Southern Cebu) - Bantayan Island, Cebu (northern Cebu) - Bohol - Siquijor - Iloilo City - Gigantes Island (in Carles, Iloilo). You may stay at Solina Beach and Nature Resort - Siargao
Some of the youtubers I've watched go to the same countries, but none of you are in the same country at the same time, what a pity! Hopefully one day I can bring you all together in the same country and travel together, maybe it will be more fun! Thanks for sharing, and have a nice travel! 👍😄🙌
Maybe Ken can meet up with Will and Jose Travels who are based in Cebu. They are awesome guys that have been in the country for around 4 months now and like to venture to places no one else goes to some of the most southern islands which the country is trying to promote as now being safe to venture. The Zamboanga series I really enjoyed. Go there at some stage Ken and love the hospitality of the people. They are the best. The local governance provide armed guards there to ensure safety.
Philippines is a fun place and the people are very friendly. FYI, the street food cars are not as reliable or as clean as in Thailand. Be careful, you likely don't have the antibodies locals have to deal with the water (not always clean) that "some" carts use to cook with..
Hey Ken, I'm flying out to Bangkok tomorrow night. Hope the weather is a little better than on your trip to the Philippines. Hope you enjoy your trip, enjoy your journey every time big fan of your YT channel.
Very interesting to watch, I have a friend that moved here to Canada from the Philippines 🇵🇭 . So just enjoy watching and learning where he comes from 🙂
Wow, Ken your first breakfast is beef pares streetfood! How cool is that! Welcome in PH and we enjoy watching your adventures from the start. They gave you normal filipino price, not scam foreigner price good thing.😎🇩🇪🇵🇭✌
Welcome Ken. You're in a touristy area full of history but always be on guard. Maybe it would be best for you to eat at established restos like Aristocrat so that you can communicate better with the locals. You can go to Binondo Chinatown for food (look it up on UA-cam) and Ugbo via grab bike or angkas or joyride all motor bike taxis. There are a lot of tourist areas there like Rizal park, luneta, national museum Mall of Asia. After your area, you can transfer to Poblacion Makati which is frequented by tourists like you and mostly Europeans. You can go there and ride the free ferry. Good luck and God bless
Always enjoy your videos especially those about you just arriving in a new country. those uncertainties feeling always happens to every traveller during arrival
