Steve Hallam had a very nice career. We see him quite often in F1 documentaries from the 80's and 90's

Kimi was McLaren's best driver post Senna. His form subsequent has warped our view of the legacy he left at Woking.
The man adapted to the Michelins as good as anyone has to any tyre in F1 history.
As good as Mika? No but close. Hamilton proved he is better than Kimi too. Kimi could arguably be considered one of the quickest guys of the modern era but certainly not the most complete.
Kimi was the most complete of all that group. His speed and carfeedback was peerless. Not sure what F1 you were watching mate.@@jamesdyer7960
Your 'best' assertion has to come with a massive caveat in my opinion. Throughout the sport's history a driver's ability to adapt and his peak performance longevity has always been a significant part of the equation and Kimi failed dismally at both - relatively speaking. Perhaps 'best driver on a specific tyre for a very specific and short time period in McLaren's post Senna history' would better suit.
You don't really understand the sport in my view. Your comment shows you weren't actually paying attention to the nature of rule changes and who had to adapt. It wasn't apples to apples during Kimi's career, particularly from 2006 to 2007.@@adelaidecity76
@@ciaronsmith4995 Oh please...a great driver has to adapt to the ever changing rules, characteristics and evolution of F1 cars, anyone who judges drivers and their overall status amongst the other greats understands that and to suggest otherwise is to be disingenuous or completely ignorant. Fernando is a terrific example of a true modern great - a driver with an incredible ability to adapt at a CONSISTENT high level, something Kimi failed at objectively if you're willing to look beyond that very specific set of circumstances that untapped his best. I'm not questioning his undoubted prowess in that period but a guy who failed to adapt and was beaten consistently by a number of other drivers throughout his career can never be one of the true greats.

Very light on technical information. The story of ayrton running over the drain in his lotus was in motor sport magazine 20 years back. Not a patch on frank dernie/ Alistair cauldwell, etc.
