Bright Vintage Shopping After Dark at Antique World Colossus

- The days are long this time of year at one huge antique center along I-65! Bright's Antique World is a magnet for highway travelers between Nashville and Louisville, where thousands of square feet of vintage lure passerby to pull off for early evening shopping, and we're taking advantage.
It's a feast for the eyes the moment we enter, with bright and vibrant displays of antique advertising, 1950s Majestic lamps, sparkling elegant glass and wowza ephemera right inside the door! We've barely gotten into the first space when an unusual DX gas station sign not currently seen on eBay comes into view...and starts our hold pile at the counter.
Beautiful women in photos and prints...a good price on a Waterford panther...a now-scarce 1910s railroad print and a print that foreshadows a constitutional amendment all jump out at us as we make our way around this giant circle of antique mall booths. An early Royal Hickman vase, an elegant glass console bowl and fun Houze Art trays find their way to our growing reseller hold pile, it looks like we're going home with a box full!
Just as fun are the interesting things we see that we leave for others. A 1910s store box, a 1950s German radio, uranium glass from 150 years of production and a giant art deco barber sign add to our fun as we sample much of what this long-established antique emporium has to offer. Frankoma pottery, Louisville Stoneware, MCM swung vases and terrific true antiques make this stop off of Franklin, Kentucky's Exit 1 a perfect place to spend a cold, dark winter's eve!

George. You have such a tremendous memory! I listen and listen. I appreciate your time and education, but I just can't imagine I will know even a tad as much as you. You are a jewel. Thank you.
Hear, hear!
The thumbnail looks like my kind of selection!
Oh yes, love the Easter stuff!
Hello I’m enjoying the hunt for treasures and all your fabulous knowledge!
I'm so glad! I hope you're finding great stuff, and that this is helping
"Its appropriately by the politicians" 🤣
Thanks for taking me along on your shopping hunt. These are fun and full of information that I can use as I go along my sprees at both antique and thrift stores. You have a great day and safe travels
I love Brights!
So nice to see you touring close to home this winter. Being in Kentucky they would be a great visit. ❤
Hi George! Another good video. I hope you’re finding what you need for the Florida shows. I hope to go to some of them one day. 😊
I hope so too! You're always welcome
I think I'm okay, I've been hunting and shipped two boxes on the plane with me today!
A lesson in linguistics AND a very cool art-deco Coco-cola sign! Great video. 🙂
That Szabo cabinet radio is gorgeous.
Thank you, thank you!! to you & Xeno for another wonderful, informative video :)) Seriously, I would LOVE to have a t-shirt w/Xeno and that vacuum cleaner, screen printed on the front, that man is an absolute natural!! Of course, w/your YT logo beneath the graphic ;)) Blessings for a Happy 2024!!
I came in at the end. I’ll rewatch 😊
Please do! Good to see you here
Thank you George! Safe travels!💜
It has been a long time since I’ve been able to find a rubber face santa to buy for a good price “in the wild”! 🎅🏻
Barb, I did buy a Rushton this past Christmas and it's because of you, I love him and didn't want to put him away.
@@silverstatepicks Yay! Yes, it is definitely hard to put them away!
You and me both!
I spotted the paper cut of early biplanes flying with the Eiffel Tower in the background. As an historian of the social history of flight, I felt I had to have it. The sales representative at Bright's was very helpful, and the framed cut out is on its way. Thanks for your program.
This place is fantastic! More! More!
We'll come back for their flea markets!
The yellow 🥣 with the candle holders on the sides could be turned into a centerpiece decoration for holidays and the green and golden sugar bowl could be used as a candle holder along with a candy 🍭 dish😊
Hi George now I get to watch. I still don't know what day of the week it is after Sam being home for holidays. 😂
Lol I understand!
No kidding, it's disorienting lol
Bright’s is one my favorites! Thanks for sharing 😊 Franklin KY has a beautiful downtown square, lots of shops and friendly people too.
I heard that, need to get downtown
Love the big pig wearing a dress! Very cute ❤
I REALLY like Waterford and love the panther!!!
Me too and yes
Another great shopping trip, but as a teacher , I am again compelled to correct you. Ka naw. Ka naw. Ka naw. Please come to West Virginia.
Some cool Coca Cola stuff! Thanks for showing it!
I try to show the old stuff, before all the fantasy items--and they had some good pieces!
The easter decorations were right up my alley!
Love them!
I love watching you shop. I think that purse was cute odd. 😮 I found a slag glass shoe. Glad I kept it.
I love the EAPG Delaware Sugar with cover!
That pattern always elicits responses! I like it too
Moven on to 60k subscribers !! Wow, thank you for your explanations 😊
And finally…in the last shot of this great video before the outro, there’s a small glimpse of a bit of Militaria with that woodland 1980’s cap, which should only cost 2-6 dollars, and are as common as chipped crystal. Still I love your content and am catching up on the volume of videos you have. I hope next time you plan a trip outside of the U.S., you consider Mexico again, maybe an extended weekend trip to just do some street market tours to see what you find. Food for thought. All my best from the @mikeinmexico channel. Keep up the great work.
I absolutely will be in Mexico again later this year, and I'll try to connect with your channel in the meantime!
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
Always fun.
love the easter.
Me too! Wish I found more of it myself
that is Marilyn Monroe on that calendar ( before her nose job and hair straightening/bleaching). I just acquired the picture framed w/out the calendar.
I loved the green lamps at the beginning of the video like you did. In great shape.
Great location to shop. Plenty to admire. Thanks George
I guess I missed the initial live stream. But I am watching - I guess the replay.
Hey. I am so excited to subscribe to your channel. My husband and I love watching all your videos, old and new. You are a man of great knowledge, not only of antiques but all periods of history. Teresa
You’re so knowledgeable and your memory is amazing🥰
Will you come up to the Vancouver, BC, area in 2024? Here's hoping! Fort Langley is the antiques/vintage place around here.
The blue bottle is Downey fabric softener
I love Lucy ❤️ she had such class and was so funny😂
I have about four beaded bags, where can I find out about them?
Thank you for the learning opportunity!
Never seen the Cambridge centerpiece before. For sure, I would use it on our dinner table.
Great items! I appreciate your insight!
I really like that mall! Found it last summer when visiting my family in Bowling Green.
Another great video George and Xeno!
Thanks so much for the tour. Saw so many great things, some that Granny & Mother had, and many long gone although I have a few. Learned so much from you, as always. So cute the way you decided on the yellow bowl with candle sticks included in the design. Who would have known it was to save money. I rather like it. Didn't know either that the tall vases were often not straight. Mother had those and I never liked them - foolish me! Hope someone else in the family did, and got them. Letting things go was difficult. I must be trying to make up for it now, ha, ha! Blessings you two! Cat
I've basically stopped looking at ceramic signs in antique malls. It's a category that is almost always marked at or above Internet prices. I think years of American Pickers is single handedly responsible for it.
True all that
Good evening, George! I might have to catch this one a bit after the fact 😬 I'd planned for the regular time.
I hope you rest well! I'm on an airplane tonight and it took off right when the premiere usually starts, so I couldn't go online yet
I’d pay $2 and more for a Harrods ash tray!
True that!
Fun to see the shelves full
The advertising pieces are interesting
✌🏼💚✌🏼💚🙏🏻 From Vermont USA
Love it there, want to return!
You found some very good pieces for great prices! The Delaware EAPG is in terrific shape. I'd not seen the amber candle holder bowl before, and after much googling finally found it identified as Fostoria topaz in a couple different sites. Seems pretty hard to find. The man cave gas/oil/wall clocks stuff looks in particularly good shape in this mall. And finally you always show something I "need" this time the blue Abingdon flower frog vase:))
I wish that you would find and show honey pots.
Pole dancer and politicians made me laugh.
Have you ever been to Hartville Ohio for antique shops if you ever go go to Angelique’s antiques
I haven't but I'll try to remember that! Ohio has so many good places
💖
ohhh that chalet was beautiful..bleh Did you find out the price on the barber shop sign? Sorry I missed the Live, but work called tonight.
Good to be busy! I didn't ask the price because I knew I couldn't get it
Good to be busy! I never did find the price

Hi George, I have a question. I'm almost positive I have a painting of "The It Girl." I live in Ky do you know where I can take it to be authenticated?
I have relatives in Germany we wrote Merry Xmas on the package and in German that means poison😢
