Good evening, George! The vase with the Native motifs on it was really nice. What was the round item, in the showcase, (the first one), that was open in the centre? Was it a picture frame? Loved the cats. The vase with the dancers was really nice. I have one piece of Miramar. It has a bamboo pattern on it. That large, dark china cabinet, with the columns, was a beauty. Loved that Victorian urn/mantlepiece. We have one that has the same metalwork, but the body is green hobnail glass. I like the cicada wall pockets. Those were fun places to shop and browse. Thanks for the take-along!
I think it was intended as a frame...the cats were my favorites for form, but the dancer vase is good as well! You have the Mirimar Bamboo, that was their second product line and what made them famous--and one of few to NOT have a metal frame. The urn was so vivid, I was sad there wasn't a pair! I think for my tastes, green hobnail would win. The cicadas were pretty great, and I am so glad you had fun with this too!
Hey George! Interesting learning about Shearwater Pottery. I need to watch it again because you had a lot of info on the screen a n d with the live chat... well... I can't keep up 😂 ❤❤❤
Don’t ya just love the unfriendliness?!..miserable creeps you blow me away your vast knowledge of antiques and such!..your a great teacher!with a personality great finds!❤
Well, she seemed nice enough at the counter when I paid, I just wish there was more interest and interaction with customers, given that we're why they're there
Oh my gosh George! The sunset sky video you took outside Marion was amazing! I was out of town when you came to Michigan, dang it! When are you coming back? Great video! Cici
That orange lazy Susan dish is one that my Grandma used to have sitting on her coffee table. Always full of mints and orange slice candies. Used to love to raid that dish when Grandma wasn't looking. lol
This is the first time I’ve ever seen Shearwater Pottery! I love it! I love pottery and will be keeping my eyes open for these beauties! Thank you for sharing!
Viva Magenta ia the current Pantone color of the year. You predicted pink was coming back! All that Cranberry glass is going to be hot! And that "over the top" table for 50 bucks. I have glass for it. I always pick up glass rounds and thick glass tops when I run into them. They are not cheap at glaziers. I would take that piece in a minute. I LOVE the Shearwater cats. Something to look for!
I pick up the rounds too! I feel cranberry and pink coming around and I’m selling Hull Pottery (at today’s prices) so it seems like pastels are coming back
I once priced rounds at Home Depot and I was shocked. Now, I just buy them when I see them and stand them up behind a bookshelf. Every so often I find a base with no glass and check my stash Pays off every time. People don't want to throw them away because it's dangerous to put out to the trash. So they ask 5 bucks or so for them.@@TheAntiqueNomad
Thanks for this wonderful video, George. I collect shearwater and have monitored the pieces on eBay since the 90s. Pieces are becoming more scarce and grow more valuable as time continues to pass. I love that you purchased pieces originally designed by Walter Inglis Anderson. Congrats.
I really like his designs! It's so neat that you collect, I hope a few other people will start to support them now, there seems like more interest than supply
Oh, I never knew about this place and lived around there in Bay St Louis for years. My folks were wiped out during Katrina as the eye went into Bay St Louis. So glad to see this back and will visit while at my mom's for Christmas. Also if you are ever near Jackson, 49 South Antique & Flea Market in Florence is a good stop, it's a huge place.
We just traveled through Mississippi also and stopped at Flowood Antique Flea Market. The people were so nice and so many treasures. If you are ever in that area, I would recommend ❤. Always a joy to watch your videos and thank you.
Very interesting, George. I like clear crystal and have a collection of Fostoria American. There was a child's spotted horse in that antique shop that was given away in our theater when I was young. I wondered what it was selling for. Thanks for sharing, George. Cat
How exciting that you made it to the Shearwater Pottery studio! I live about 1.5 hours away in Hammond, LA. I’ve never found a piece in the wild - only a Walter Anderson paint-it-yourself print that was part of a lot I bought. Perhaps the only thing I want to find more is a piece of Newcomb. 😂Picking along the MS Gulf Coast is tough. A lot was lost in Katrina and since prices have gone way up (as has the market in general) and the quality of stuff isn’t what it once was.
Love this video George! I am a huge pottery fan. Love seeing those pieces and I’m curious about what you purchased. Thank you!! I’m a vase and pot fan but I loved those pirates.
My Great Aunt in California sent us, in Western Canada, one of the Pilgrim Glass "cullet" candles. It was so pretty in dark reds and blues. Thanks for reminding me of that nice memory 🕯
Ooh, big question! I think Hull is starting to revive, the rest seem steady but I think 1970s-80s studio stoneware is of at least as much potential...IF you know who made it and they're "someone"
Those are cicadas, not scarabs. I would love to have one of those!
I should really know the difference but I was wrapped up in their Egyptological stuff and saw a scarab where it wasn't! Lol
Thank you for taking us with you shopping at the pottery. What fun.
That sunset was absolutely beautiful. Wild George, what is gorgeous ending to this video? With all the gorgeous stuff inside.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Walter Inglis Anderson. I love his work and his life story.
Yes! Fascinating family
I started a fund drive in high school, in the 70's, to raise funds to buy a kiln. It took all year, but we did it ❤ happy memories
How neat! They weren't cheap

Rosemary I had the same luck !! I had watched a couple of George's videos and magically came up 😊
I lost signal, again. You can tell it's getting winter. I really liked the squirrel trivet. Very cool to see.
I like it and should go back for it
Hey George! Interesting learning about Shearwater Pottery. I need to watch it again because you had a lot of info on the screen a n d with the live chat... well... I can't keep up 😂 ❤❤❤
Very interesting !
I’m glad! I pack a lot in a short video lol
Really cool that you're showing us this. I'm a studio ceramics geek. Thank you!
I love the stuff too!
No chip on the tip of the bird’s tail
No, it seemed finished off squarely but not damaged! That is often a problem
Loved seeing all the pottery!

Cool! Thank you
I just love the cats

Oh my gosh George! The sunset sky video you took outside Marion was amazing! I was out of town when you came to Michigan, dang it! When are you coming back? Great video! Cici
I'll be back in Marshall for 'Tique Stock III in May!
That orange lazy Susan dish is one that my Grandma used to have sitting on her coffee table. Always full of mints and orange slice candies. Used to love to raid that dish when Grandma wasn't looking. lol
That is awesome! So much of this stuff triggers memories
This is the first time I’ve ever seen Shearwater Pottery! I love it! I love pottery and will be keeping my eyes open for these beauties! Thank you for sharing!
I like sharing obscure but good stuff!
Holy Moley, you did it!
So glad I finally got there! I got to see Frankoma in the 1990s, but couldn't get to this one then
@@TheAntiqueNomad It's very special pottery.
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
I’m a huge fan of and collect Frankoma pottery. This reminds me of it. I love this pottery! I’m going to have to plan a trip to Mississippi!❤🎉
Where is the best place to learn about Frankoma and sell it?
The old reference books are worth getting because they were thorough and it's all in one place without having to scroll through to compare things
@rubywingo6030 I hope you do! They have neat stuff worth keeping around

THIS IS LIKE THE RAE DUNN CRAZE A FEW YEARS AGO , THEN FLOODED THE MARKET, CAN'T GIVE THEM AWAY NOW
Rae Dunn didn't understand it herself, she just liked doing them!
Small potters are so intriguing.
Thanks for this wonderful video, George. I collect shearwater and have monitored the pieces on eBay since the 90s. Pieces are becoming more scarce and grow more valuable as time continues to pass. I love that you purchased pieces originally designed by Walter Inglis Anderson. Congrats.

Nice to see you buy some bells. I hope you start a trend because most sellers say they don't sell. ❤
Fenton bells that glow under black light sell now for sure!
Wow amazing place thank you for sharing ❤ California

It was such a devastating event! I’m glad mom’s ok and that everyone could move on. Thanks for the tip, could end up there!
I live less than 50 mi from there I wish I had known you were going to be there
It was very last minute! I thought I was going back through Alabama
The Shearwater tour was wonderful. Thank you for the tour can’t wait for you to go back. Thanks for all you do.
I am drooling! I love pottery & this is incredible & fascinating!
Isn't it? I'm glad I got to show it!
Neat items!
Thank you for taking me somewhere I've always wanted to go, George!
Wow! Those Shearwater Pottery figural pieces are amazing! I wouldn't mind finding a few pieces at a great price for my own collection.
I totally agree!
We just traveled through Mississippi also and stopped at Flowood Antique Flea Market. The people were so nice and so many treasures. If you are ever in that area, I would recommend ❤. Always a joy to watch your videos and thank you.
I've heard about that place twice, I'll have to get there!
I can only hope they ship! I would love to buy the pelican bookends for Christmas gift. Thanks George
I hope so too! Those were awesome and I would call them if I were you, I bet they would.
Thanks so much for the tour of this place!
Any time!
Love seeing all the pottery, I would love to visit someday. And the sunset was just breathtaking. Thank you for another great video.❤
Very interesting, George. I like clear crystal and have a collection of Fostoria American. There was a child's spotted horse in that antique shop that was given away in our theater when I was young. I wondered what it was selling for. Thanks for sharing, George. Cat

Thank you!! I’m a vase and pot fan but I loved those pirates.
I got a pirate, a sailor with anchor and the bathing beauty
My Great Aunt in California sent us, in Western Canada, one of the Pilgrim Glass "cullet" candles. It was so pretty in dark reds and blues. Thanks for reminding me of that nice memory 🕯
Aww, neat! I had one in red and clear once
Love those cats ❤️🐱🦩🌴🌞
The Shearwater pottery looks great. Some pieces, like the scarab, remind me of some Dutch pottery from 1960. The cats are great.❣️🐈🐈⬛️
I hadn't thought of that, some Dutch ware does have that look!
Wow george i wanna go there glad u got there
💖
Beautiful Fenton bells !🦩🌴🌞
Yes they are!
Thank you for taking us to Mississippi. Loved the pottery store and their story. Thank you from NJ ❤
Thank you too!
Super cool to learn about, thank youuuuu!!!❤
Glad you enjoyed it, I always learn more doing it
Glove up. Flu season . Covid 19 will end the fun
I'm not worried, honestly, I was around virtually no one, and they gave us disinfectant wipes to touch the stuff.
Very cool pottery. What do you think is sellong right now? And what should i hold on to?
Ooh, big question! I think Hull is starting to revive, the rest seem steady but I think 1970s-80s studio stoneware is of at least as much potential...IF you know who made it and they're "someone"

Can calcification be removed on glass pieces? Or pottery?
With difficulty (sometimes requiring muriatic acid)
I have majolica camel
Put your sweater on silly george
Jingle bells
I don't like rude people
