  • San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán is the first major Olmec site in Mexico founded just after 1800 BC and peaking between 1400 BC and 1200 BC. It has been excavated at various times with ten colossal Olmec heads discovered in this huge artificial platform city, one weighing 28 tons. In the 1990s another head was discovered that is now on display at the local museum with other unusual artifacts, some of them with magnetic qualities and intricate carving similar to Gobekli Tepe and Tiwanaku. There is even a stone sphere and platform, like those found in Costa Rica. Hugh Newman and the Megalithomania group also get special permission to explore the rarely visited site that is now mostly destroyed with only evidence of mounded structures there. Includes exclusive aerial footage.

Thank you Hugh and JJ for doing this. What a stunning site. I am stunned by the similarities we see between some of these megalithic sites globally. The sitting figures reminded me of the sitting priests and Buddhas we see in South Asia. The statue with the hands pointing at its waist seemed to echo the T Pillars of Gobleki Tepe. The animal figures seemed to resemble the Egypt works especially the cat ones. So many questions, so little answers.

A question I did have was the magnetic compass differentiation. You said it was 8 degrees off. Could that be an 8 degree variance over time? When they built using it was it correct? If so, what era would that be? Would be impressed but not surprised if it reveals its older than 1500 years.

Fascinating these Olmecs & their Megaboulder Heads! Still much to discover here. The extreme pitting on Stones are indicative of age.

Around the neck of the caped figure the carving resembles the 'clothing' carved on the standing figures of Gobekli Tepe etc.

Hugh I know what the protuberances are They pay tribute to a site in Middle East can't remember the name of but the stone work is way above average The stone work at that site were most definitely far above and possible creator of the style of stone work. Random protuberances are simply paying tribute to the original master stone cutters Im no expert but have been watching you and Graham since day one

Check Magnetic north for the day you were there. True north doesn't change. That is the Earth's spin.
Magnetic north has moved a lot recently.
Igneous rock is softened with heat. The heads could have been sculptured by pressing in rounded wooden posts.

    • @peterlarkin762
      @peterlarkin762 2 місяці тому

Exactly. The magnetite would have pointed to magnetic north which was probably 8 degree from true north when they were building.

The stone at 7:30 looks like a hammering stone or a weight (Barbell) for Giants. The 4 top swoops look like finger grips hand the rectangular opening below would support the thumb 🤔

  • @toadyuk8391

Quick question from me - we know that magnetic North shifts by increasing amounts until a polar reversal occurs eventually. This is well established scientifically from ashes and rocks on aboriginal fires. it’s also clear from trace magnetic anomalies from basalt (highly magnetic rock BTW) lava flows in sea floor.
Now - the question is you mention that 8 degrees variance from magnetite and magnetic north ? My question is 3 fold:
    1. I assume the magnetite actually points to current magnetic north ? That’s how magnnts work right - just like a compass ?
    2. You mention this 8 degrees and again I am assuming this is an 8 degree variation with true north (as magnetic north is moving)
    3. You say the sites are 8 degrees out of alignment - well when they were built they would have been actually pointing magnetic North for their time period
The reason I am asking is I have from the black basalt pavement a sliver of the basalt which is highly magnetic - indeed it actually jumps to a magnet (that Giza pyramid black basalt is super magnetic) and also it points from a string to magnetic north.
    So I’m thinking two things:
    1. The movement of magnetic north can help date the sites - given we assumed they used magnets to align them ? If they are also 8 degrees from true north today then it makes sense
    2. This would support also the hypothesis that magnetism was used far more than we give credit for in the Neolithic and Paleolithic even world
Hope this makes sense. Next time you visit Giza check out the black basalt pavement area left great pyramid where all camels hang out

8° off North: I wonder how much effect tectonic creep has had over time and if that’s what took alignment off due North or was bringing it closer to true North? I’ve wondered the same thing about all other sites where directional alignments have been claimed or considered.
Just to make sure all factors are considered; not to make trouble or diminish the value of your wonderful work, thx.

Energy can be directed to your naval, hence why all the ancient statues wrap their hands around their body and point to it. There is an old video with an asian guy called "john" who can control this energy, and it was captured on tape demonstrating these abilities. He could also light a fire with his hands.

The block at 2:50 is most likely created by an earlier, advanced civilisation, while the indentations were created by a later one, probably trying to sharpen their primitive weapons/tools. In addition, the grooves in the block do not look the same as the scoop marks that you find in Egyptian or Peruvian stonework.

Just a thought, but maybe the so called rock wasn’t carved… with tools etc. It was moulded, a composite of different materials that was plyable and formed into those shapes. That would explain the indents and the reason why the faces of the rock can’t even fit a razor blade in between they are that tightly joined.
We really should stop thinking with our current reality tunnel and what we ‘think’ or have been taught. It’s all lies and/or lack of knowledge of electricity, magnetism and engineering. These civilisations were so far ahead of our ‘time’. They understood what our reality actually is and how it works. Materialist science and dogmatic thinking is just sending people round in circles. It’s so obvious what all these structures were used for. Power generation and storage

The caption of 'ORIGIN OF THE OLMECS' is rather misleading, as there is no mention of the origin of the Olmecs. I wonder why most pieces on Olmecs deliberately ignore their origins, while they seem to have affinity to African. By1500 bc the Egyptians sailed around the west African coast and could have discovered the Americas.
