I'm writing this a year after you posted this, so I hope my comment still comes to your attention. I would like to know if you are still happy with the Bernina chair. Thanks for this
That chair is Snazzy Miss Laura. 😍💗Also the weight limit is important to consider, I held my grandbabies in my lap and let them watch my embroidery machine (little precious hands safely out of reach) stitch their names and dates and other characters. Precious memories.
Next time my husband and I go down to Amish Country here in Ohio, I'll stop in at the Bernina shop to see if I can try out one of these chairs. If it works for me, I'll have to get one. I'm 5'6" tall, which is a "normal" height. But I'm very short waisted and I have VERY long legs. So if I'm out with someone who is my height and we both sit down together, I end up a LOT shorter! But if I go out with someone who is shorter and we both sit down, we end up the same height. So every chair I get for my computer desk or my sewing machine never seem to work for me. I need to try out this chair. I'm sure it will be great because my favorite color is red!
Ergonomics are essential for quilters! I actually have the opposite issue with chair and work surface heights than Laura because I’m 5’11”. Many years ago I had a cutting table custom made for me and it’s still an important part of my quilting studio.
Love the colour of your new chair, hope it gives many years of service. I have the same issue with desk heights. Just bought a Flexisoft E7 sit stand desk as it was the one adjustable desk that I could find that goes as low as 58cm and up to 123cm. I can go really low for my serger, raise it a little for my sewing machine and raise it higher for a cutting table. It also has an adjustable table length, so I could make it the perfect size for my room. The table goes low enough for children to use as well.
Laura, quick question for u … I got a message saying I won a prize… and said to message back.. I did try but I’m not too smart when it comes to computers… so don’t know if it worked.. thanks
Enjoyed your enthusiasm over the new chair. Thank you for sharing the unboxing as well as assembling it. I will be interested in hearing your review after you have had a chance to use it for a little bit.
You are too cute! I love your new chair, and I love how excited you are about it even more! Just your humming while assembling it brought me joy today! I wish you many happy, comfortable sewing hours, and look forward to seeing what you sew next.
I got a red chair for my space too. 😊 Then had to put it all into storage. Middle child came back to the nest. If he's still here in a year then I will sell everything.
I love your new chair. I am short also and hubby has made me a box for my machine pedal and feet too. Now be safe, don't go standing on it to reach the chandelier so you can swing around and jump onto your sewing desk. I want one too as I have trouble with seats.
I don't seem to do well with chairs on wheels. As I work at my station, I find myself slipping backwards from the desk/table. Consequently, I am fighting with the chair and trying to edge it back in and under the area. Like you, I use a foot stool and this seems to make me edge backwards even more! So my solution was to take off the wheels and install stationary feet. I no longer find myself slipping backwards. These can be found at an office supply store and they are easy to switch out.
This is so timely for me as I need a very supportive chair, especially in the lumbar region. The fact you can put it together yourself and it is easily adjusted is very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Laura for telling me about this chair! I went to my Bernina store the other day in tears (and frustration). I have a cabinet for my Q20 just like yours (only mine has a clear spacer where the machine goes - wonder why yours matches the cabinet)! I'm short, dealer put cabinet on wheels and it was all wrong for my height!!! Hopefully this chair will help me! Don't you love how life works - things pop up on UA-cam to fit my needs. Thanks!
Love your new red chair!!! Awesome that it has so many adjustment features...I'm short, too, and it Does make a difference if you spend all day stitching 🥰! Happy sewing!
I have this Horn chair and really like it. You showed me an adjustment I didn't know about in the chair. Thank you. I, too, am short. I love the platform on the floor that you put your foot pedal on. I'm going to try that too. Thank you for sharing this information! It really helped me. Enjoy your new chair and keep on stitching!💖🤣💖
After sewing for several years using a commonly sold sewing chair that I really should have known wouldn't be good for me, I splurged on the Bernini red chair and I LOVE IT!!! Comfort and adjustability. Glad you showed this to us so others can see how great it is.
Beautiful, well made chair & love the red color. I am also a short lady so this looks like it would be perfect for me too. Posture is very important to me. Thanks for sharing.
Loved your video! These chairs sure are nice. I covered the back and seat with a slip cover cause I have cats :) Also, If someone doesn't love red, choose any color you want to match the room. Proved it is not necessary to have a "helper" to put together stuff. Sometimes the helper is more difficult than the directions. Loved the safety rules!! Very funny.
Nice chair. I too am on the shorter side and my Christmas gift was a new chair (purple and black). It’s been fantastic for my sewing life. Enjoy your chair. 🌺
I completely understand your excitement! I bought a gaming chair for the same reasons. It needs to sink for me to sit and sew and I need to raise for other work. So glad there are solutions for those of us that are vertically challenged 😆
I love my red Bernina chair and so does my dachshund!! I did have to replace the wheels as they didn’t glide like they used to. I found they were yucky with accumulation of tread and lint! The chair is so comfortable.
On the safety instructions topic, my husband bought car cleaning / drying cloths and the information on the tag is hilarious. The usual: Do not bleach. Warm Wash, warm tumble dry. But then: ❤ IT'S OK TO LOVE YOUR CAR But the kicker: If you do not understand washing, ask your mum! And the last instruction: Remove this tag before use. Do not eat it. Really! 😂
It is so cute to see you so excited about your chair. I am happy for you to have a fit that works for you. A comfortable, adaptable chair is so important when you spend so much time in it. Enjoy
I laughed when you mentioned the directions. I am the same way, but you are braver than me. I always just bring everything to my husband to put together. He reads directions, I don't have patients for them. I am short too 4'11
Congratulations on your new chair. I just started sewing again and was using a dining room chair. I had neck and shoulder fatigue so I got a new sewing table and a gaming chair. I am built the opposite of you - tall with long legs. I am so pleased with my new setup so I know how you feel with the correct chair.
No fair!!!! Now, I want one!!! Like they say, "Sometimes, ignorance is bliss". ( Now, if I stop buying groceries, I could buy one, AND lose weight - that might work OK!!) Maybe not, eh?? Enjoy your chair, it's beautiful.
Wow a Bernina chair who knew they sold them. Good tips on ergonomic sewing. I love the chair and tips. I'm gonna make me a box. The chair here is $600. So I’ll have to pass on this for awhile and just use ergonomic seat and 😊back cushions and the box but at least I’m aware now of long term incorrect sitting can do thank you
I can relate! I’m barely 5’ tall. My sewing chair doesn’t go up high enough for my sewing desk, and my desk chair doesn’t work for my desk, either! This chair looks amazing!
I had swivel chairs in my sewing room, I kept pushing myself to a different part of worktop and falling off chair had to get rid before I did myself damage lol
Another fun, stylish, and informative video - thank you! That chair is amazing and I love the pop of color it adds into your sewing/office space - just the thing to ground yet energize. May I ask where you purchased your shoes - they look comfortable yet quite stylish as well.
Thanks for sharing Ms Laura had a hard time finding a chair that would be best for my sewing needs. Great video, not all the extra wording and LOUD MUSIC! Thanks
I also am short, and have the same problems with heights of sewing table and chair. Fortunately my sewing table had some adjustability. I still should have a box like that for my foot pedal though. Did you make that (or your husband) for yourself?
I have the Bernina chair. Love it. But I am a little concerned. The chair may need a replacement part some time soon. I have found it lowering itself. Not all the time. But enough that replacement part may be in the near future. But saying that. I love the chair very very very comfortable for my size. I am 5 foot. In case you might wonder. I am only about 10 pounds over recommended weight for my height. So my weight is not an issue with the chair. Ha
I asked Bernina Germany if you can also buy the chair here. I was informed that it will only be expelled to the US. A sale in Europe is not planned - unfortunately!
Thanks for the links to your hew chair and both of your machines. Can you please reply in the comments with a link to the quilting table? I don’t have room for a long arm and am interested in finding out more about your table. I think it might fit. Thanks in advance!
If it is the quilting table you're talking about, I did get it with my q20. You have a few different options of tables. This is one of those things that you will need to go to a Bernina dealer for. I hope that helps
I'm writing this a year after you posted this, so I hope my comment still comes to your attention. I would like to know if you are still happy with the Bernina chair. Thanks for this

Have had mine for years. Love it!
It's beautiful! So happy for you, Laura. Nothing like a chair that fits. So fun to watch you put it together.
It’s so important to be comfy while u sew… 😀
Laura, quick question for u … I got a message saying I won a prize… and said to message back.. I did try but I’m not too smart when it comes to computers… so don’t know if it worked.. thanks

That is a nice chair, lots of support and comfortable, great purchase Laura.

Laura, I just love watching you! Especially your pronunciation of some words in your Canadian accent!

I have the red Bernina chair too! It was a splurge that proves worth it every time I use it.
I am 5’1” and truly identify with you. Thanks for the great video.
Congratulations on your new chair !!! I'm so happy that it works out perfectly for you.

Congratulations on your new chair! I need one like that and I love the red color too! Pam Miller
You teach so many practical things Laura. Things that I would never have thought of. Thank you!!
I’ve had a Bernina chair for years and my kitty loves it 😂. He claimed it as his from day one!!!
This is awesome and so are you!!! We don’t always need a man!
Love your new red chair!!! Awesome that it has so many adjustment features...I'm short, too, and it Does make a difference if you spend all day stitching 🥰! Happy sewing!
That’s a beautiful chair. Looks very comfortable. ❤ I recognize that white chair. I considered one. Very glad I didn’t.

I agree, love this chair. I ‘ve had mine for a year or so and couldn’t part with it now.
The chair looks so comfortable. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful, well made chair & love the red color. I am also a short lady so this looks like it would be perfect for me too. Posture is very important to me. Thanks for sharing.
I have that exact same chair and I adore it so much! Worth the money!! Enjoy!
The Bernini chair looks awesome. Will have to look it up.
Congratulations, Laura, on the purchase of your new chair. I'm so happy for you 💓. Those of us who are shorter can relate.

Your new chair is beautiful and looks well made. Thanks for sharing!
Great job getting your chair together looks like a comfortable chair
I have a red Bernina chair and I love it, too!
It’s beautiful! Enjoy!
I have 2 Bernina chairs and absolutely love them!!!
I love those chairs too. Horn Company makes the best ones for Bernina.
Nothing feels better than a proper fit! Congrats on the new beautiful chair!
Love your videos and I wish you many hours sewing in your new red chair.
Love your new chair!❤
Nice chair.
I too am on the shorter side and my Christmas gift was a new chair (purple and black). It’s been fantastic for my sewing life. Enjoy your chair. 🌺

As a person who is size perfect (5') this is of so much interest to me, and understand your excitement. Tfs,hugs, Chel 🌸
Got mine yesterday! So excited.
So funny. Love your new chair. It's so hard to find a good chair. Very pretty.
Pretty red chair.
That was fun to watch. Congratulations on your new chair.

for me finding an office chair is tricky...short. thanks. I need a comfortable chair.
You go girl! I love the red chair. It looks so comfy.
Great looking chair.
Hope it works out long term. It is so hard to find a good chair when one is vertically challenged! Enjoy!!’
I love mine!

I love that chair. I love red too. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford it though.
Interested in the size of your “foot box”. Have my husband working on one for me.
Wow a Bernina chair who knew they sold them. Good tips on ergonomic sewing. I love the chair and tips. I'm gonna make me a box. The chair here is $600. Sweet !
Great information! Thanks!
Awesome! I love it
Thank you-this clip was very information
I need a chair like that! I’m also short.
Very informative & helpful! I’ve needed this video, Laura! Watching you put it together helped too. I will go & check this out. Thanks thanks thanks!
If it is very important to have a good. seat that helps us to have a good and comfortable posture for the hours spent sewing..
I had swivel chairs in my sewing room, I kept pushing myself to a different part of worktop and falling off chair had to get rid before I did myself damage lol
I've had a Bernina chair for years. And I really like it. Not as fancy as yours, though.😀
Another fun, stylish, and informative video - thank you! That chair is amazing and I love the pop of color it adds into your sewing/office space - just the thing to ground yet energize. May I ask where you purchased your shoes - they look comfortable yet quite stylish as well.
We must be the same height! Beautiful chair!
Thanks for sharing Ms Laura had a hard time finding a chair that would be best for my sewing needs. Great video, not all the extra wording and LOUD MUSIC! Thanks
I love your new space and the chair is great! I love your top, would you mind sharing the pattern name and fabric please?
I love the look of this chair, unfortunately it’s not available in the uk 😞
Good job Laura! How much are they priced at? I couldn't find it online! Thank you.
I also am short, and have the same problems with heights of sewing table and chair. Fortunately my sewing table had some adjustability. I still should have a box like that for my foot pedal though. Did you make that (or your husband) for yourself?

I’m seeing this a year later. Do you still like the chair?
Would you please share the dimensions of the block base for your feet? And did you buy this? Or was it custom made? Thanks for your great videos!
I wish I could buy this in England (UK) Bernina isnt widely available here .
You look excited like a kid in a lolly shop. We need good support in our chairs, we don’t have time for sore backs, it interferes with our sewing.
People ignore ergonomics and then wonder why they are in pain. A good chair is worth it's weight in gold.
Is the lumbar adjustable?
Thanks for the links to your hew chair and both of your machines. Can you please reply in the comments with a link to the quilting table? I don’t have room for a long arm and am interested in finding out more about your table. I think it might fit. Thanks in advance!

Does it come in a different color Laura? I can’t seem to find a different color. 😢
" do not use the chair as a step ladder" well dang it, I'm going to have to return it now.
Where did you get the little foot lift? Was that something you made yourself?
Does this chair come with armrests?
