It's not actually Jimmy Vincent on that recording. He left Prima's band in about 1951 and returned in 1962, at which point Keely Smith was no longer part of the band. This recording would have been from the late '50s (so either Bobby Morris or Paul Ferrara on the drums). Vincent was Prima's best drummer, in my opinion, though. Great work nonetheless!
Ah cool thanks that's good to know. I thought Bobby came up with the groove as he had done a lot pf playing in Latin style bands, but Jimmy was on this recording. I wish there was a Jimmy Vincent book!
