I’m glad you mentioned the musical references! Did you notice that at 2:14 in the trailer there’s ALSO a musical reference to the begging of the fog beast battle theme from future connected?
I did not, but I just listened to it and wow that is a good catch! Certainly seems to be the nail in the coffin that this isn't the last we've seen of the Fog Beasts.
Your presentation and editing is leaps and bounds above all other Xenotubers, it’s easily the most recognisable staple of your quality of content in the sea of trailer analyses. Interesting take on Gort, but given the design similarities with Grahf with the dope horns defining the head shape, I think whoever it is is probably going to be more important than we realise. He also definitely looks like this game’s Mumkhar equivalent, who was characterised by charisma, size and a design full of unsettling sharp edges and metal blades, I think that definitely comes across with this guy’s size and teeth. My personal crackhead theory is that it’s an Ouroboros of Malos and Alvis. It ties back into my idea of Alvis’s core being red and thus him taking on a red form being a possibility in the future. I know that sounds very stretchy but consider that there have been plenty of theories circulating discussing an evil Alvis due to corruption or whatever, this could be by the fog creatures or it could tie into the theory of Malos living on through somebody, probably either Pyra/Mythra at the very end of 2. Colour-wise, the red and purple mashup colour scheme of the 50ft piranha man certainly correlates to a fusion of Ontos and Logos and his accent just sounds like the perfect blend between Alvis’s British and Malos’s American. And, of course, this would explain the “passage of fate” stuff being uttered in a playful, Malos-like demeanour/personality. Of course, the biggest hole in this theory is that, realistically, the guy should be powerful enough to do literally whatever he wants and could’ve taken over the world a long time ago. Maybe he has? Is he the true antagonist? It would make sense for the wisdom of Alvis to influence some kind of grand Wilhelm-like scheme based on unpleasant truths. What do you think? I only paid that much attention because I love the archetype of Xeno villain that he very much seems to be and I just really want a return/reunification of the Aegises lol. It’s probably more Zanza-related than anything given the patterns on Noah’s flute, the Taion line about people being fuel and of course the passage of fate line. I was very excited by the character analysis tease at the end there! I’ve loved Dramatis Personae as a series and have especially wished for episodes on the characters you briefly highlighted so I’m looking forward to that very much! You’re doing so great.

Don't know if other people feel the same, but the scene with young Noah reminds me so much of the young Fei scenes in Xenogears.
I keep watching these kinds of videos even though I've been following everything and usually already know or have theorized the same things, but man I'm just too excited *not* to just in case there's even *one* thing I didn't notice or think of.
I guess Gort is probably that one thing, not sure if I agree with it though aha.

Agniratha is a top tier song from XC1. I slept on it for the longest time.
I really like the visual touches the UI has in game. Like how the characters from the Bionis/Mechonis have circles in their battle menu; while the characters from Alrest have triangles for their UI. Both are indicative of the combat UI from their respective games!
Amazing dead/not dead montage though I'm surprised Rex getting back stabbed by Jin was not included.
Definitely getting hyped to see how this is all going to shake out.

I loved the books! Read all the way to the end of Fang when I was younger, but never did end up finishing the series unfortunately. Thanks so much! Glad to hear I was able to keep it fresh that way.
The tower thing. I absolutely loved it in xenoblade 2 and I'd absolutely love to know too about the others and it does make since there's others since it's on a ring. Also I wished the final area in xenoblade 2 was bigger but it was still an amazing experience.
In the combat sequences we see two blue rings around some characters, I think those are for defenders because the other characters standing inside the ring have a shield icon.
The theme that you pointed out is both in counter attack and engage the enemy
Omg yes I immediately thought of Bayonetta when I noticed the left and right eye stuff
If you frame by frame at around 2:34 of the trailer (when Mio's smiling) you can see that her cross symbol or mark does not seem to have any red coloring in it. It's mostly black similar to Ethel's. Although it could be due to the coloring or hue of the scene, there really seems to be no red in her symbol. Definitely not like Noah's.
I just took a look and I think you're right! If so, that could indicate that no red coloration means you have perhaps 0 years left, while red on the central circle like the rest of the cast has means you have 1 year left. That would be crazy. Thanks for pointing that out!
The "people who presumably died but came back" edit was so amazing.
One of the best parts of the trailer for me is the fact this came out on my best friend’s birthday. He hasn’t been introduced to Xeno yet, but eventually I hope he picks the game up

10:40 That character looks like the Blade Perceval.
If you look closely you can see the hatch of the Hover Transport open before its thrown at Vangarre, so it likely landed on him with the open side and he was then trapped inside it during the explosion, shielding him from it. Which is insanely lucky, but does explain how he survived
I bet that toothy red guy is the new Vandham. He could be fighting them to test/teach them, the same way XC2 Vandham fought+taught Rex when they met.
Toothy red guy attacks them. They transform for the first time and beat the crap out of him. He transforms back into Vandham and gives them a cool dying speech about destiny and how cool Ouroboros are.
I simply cannot wait any longer for this game

And here we are in 2022 where XC 3 is releasing 2 months earlier and had a trilogy of games released on a single console!

I loved using Myopic Screen in Xenoblade X. Against a hoard of enemies in overdrive, Myopic screen can raise your TP to the max wth just a single use while simultaneously raising your counter. And best of all, you acquire it very early in the game if you choose the Raygun path.

We still don't know if Noah will break the curse and finally be the first xeno progat to proper bite his meal... that's what bugs me the most xD
If he does, the whole world will be in shambles.
Or maybe Noah and Mio will have a plutonic friendship from the start with no romantic implications what-so-ever? There doesn't always need to be a love story for people to care about the bonds between the characters. It would be nice to see the female protagonist treated as a protagonist instead of a 2D love interest for the male lead.

Something I noticed when I saw the trailer is the fact that the book that Mio* writes is completely readable and I think it's in Alrest's language, I've tried to read it but the quality of the video doesn't let me

The point about soldiers of Aionios having only 10 years to live is huge if it is to be believed. Considering how 1 and 2 have their fair share of beings who can live for a very long time (High Entia, Machina, Blade Eaters, Flesh Eaters and Blades (though Blades are tied to their Driver's lifespan)), maybe those like Melia and Nia were saddened by them outliving most of their friends. Perhaps this lead them to create the system with a limited lifespan for people of Aionios so that others wouldn't have to share the same pain they experienced. Either that, or someone else manipulated their feelings for their own gains.
It would also make sense why the two nations are at war because of these restrictions. Having a limited lifespan would severely impact a nation's productivity for how long people would be able to work and contribute to a nation's wellbeing. Considering how many of us spend a long time before getting to a specific career, limiting that time could be a sensible cause for a crisis for these two nations and to start a war for other nation's resources.
Thought about the Gort/Mumkhar paralell a lot and much like Vandham I think this may just be a new Xeno-archetype, an important character to one of the main cast's going through a horrifying transformation that reflects their own inner darkness and lack of humanity. It makes me both terrified and excited. If this new monster is to be the antithesis to the Ouroboros, 2 people fusing through a strong shared desire and symbolises unity then what unholy process created it. My first assumption was that it's Isurd and something perhaps about his partner dying caused this monstrosity like a Jin and Lora situation, but he also seems to have a mech as his weapon so unlikey it's him. Perhaps it's gonna be someone much more tied to Noah and his past or the previous 2 games. God I need to play gears...
I guess we knew what it was like to lose when Rex got Miied but we won a year or so later lol

I really doubt they're gonna bring *Gort* of all people back. What reason would they have? His story is wrapped up, and so is the story of anyone he was involved with. Besides, he only sounds like the character in the trailer a little bit.
I'm guessing by the end of this game they're going to stop all this fighting and whatever is counting down to their deaths are shut down. Or perhaps they destroy it around midgame which triggers the two nations further

Thanks! Great video! I don't really buy the whole 'Gort' thing though. They just reused a similar filter for the voice. However, the way the giant beast talks is very different from Gort's. Now, I feel like Aionios is a world where characters from the worlds of Xeno 1 and 2 have reincarnated (maybe Aionios can be seen as a form of hell or purgatory, after all, living 10 years in perpetual war seems pretty hellish to me). So maybe we will see Gort again in some form. However, making him the giant beast would be a pretty random choice... There's so many other cool characters that would be way better.

I'm a Metal Gear fan and smaller characters somehow come back to play larger roles way too often there, so I'm just going to chalk it up as a force of habit for me to think that way lol.

I am more than hyped for this game and will probably take a vacation for it. I already check way too often if an EU Collectors edition is ready for preorder/get announced.
Only thing I fear is that the 1-2 Additional characters could lead to a worse character development. I hope everyone gets enough screen time so I can attach myself to them (And get my heart broken/that feeling of emptyness again after finisihing it lol )

The *only* thing I wish from the story in this game is if it kills any of the main characters they need to stay dead please, one of the worst things you can do to a story is bringing back the dead & by doing that cancelling all characters development they went through after tragedies.
Jesus Christ, how fucked up is the world of Aionous that two very noncruel people both decided it was necessary to draft child soldiers with built in expiration dates?! Also, no, I don't to see Nia's daughter die :(
