I can't believe I finally found a tutorial that not only actually worked all the way through but had someone speaking clearly and actually EXPLAIN WHY HE WAS DOING CERTAIN THINGS. You are like a dream come true on this platform. Finally!
I've watched a ton of UE tutorials and this is the best I've ever seen. You are the ONLY person to actually explain information like material instances vs normal materials. Everyone else just skips over that kind of thing, assuming people have learned it when it's actually critical info beginners are missing!! Definitely subscribing!!! Thank you!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you found my Unreal Engine tutorials to be the best you've ever seen. I'm glad that you like it! Good luck with UE!
my dude i have been freaking crying and trying to fix issues with not being able to paint for over 7hours!!! thank you for this amazing and simple to follow guide! truly a savior of my day!
I WAS STUCK FOR 4-5 HOURS TRYING TO FIGUER THIS OUT.... CUS I DIDNT KNOW IN ORDER TO UES A MATRIAL TO PAIN IN A ROAD YOU NEED TO INPIT IT TO THE WHOLE LAND SCAPE ......
For anyone having the issue at 9:17 "There are currently no target layers assigned to this landscape. Use the buttons above to add new ones or populate them from the material(s) currently assigned to the landscape". There is an easy solution. Note that this is only a bug with unreal engine 5.5. To fix this widen the Landscape Mode Tab that we are in by holding the slider and dragging the window to make it bigger. At the very bottom in the Layers section that we are in and getting the bug, look for a button called "Create Layers From Assigned Materials", click that and your issue should be resolved :). The button is on the right of the plus button. Like i said, you might need to make the window bigger to see it as it was hidden for me.
okay i was able to the spheres to show their real colors and elements. but it still says "none" right next to it. and when i try painting with it selected it pops up with a message reading "this layer has no layer info assigned yet. you must create or assign a layer info before you can paint this layer" . so i did that and now all the textures are singular colors and not all detailed
Yeah, this is the one video that got me through the first barrier of UE5 developent : I got my landscape , now how do I make it look nice.... Follow this tutorial... just make it an 8 layer (just copy paste) instead of 3 layers (for later, you will thank me).... Thank you EZ unreal, your tutorial is 1000 hours of Bob Ross in 11 minutes, I can now paint any landscape to make it look the way I want ... ALso, added tiling for every material , not just 1 for all 8.. Love sent keep doing what ur doing
I LOVED this Tutorial, I appreciated how slowly you went and took the time to explain why you do each thing! Fantastic resource I will need to watch more!!
Thx for sharing the knowlegde. You are a life saver. Yesterday I had problems with painting my landscape. I worked until 02:30 in the morning. Your tutorial is clear.
Man, I am from Egypt. Despite the language difference, and although I have not applied your tutorial yet, I felt that you explain well and clearly, and that I will benefit a lot from you.
Hello! I'm watching from Hungary. I would like to thank you for the clear and 100% understandable tutorial! Thanks! I would like to encourage you to make more videos like this, a lot of people would appreciate it! Have a nice day!
In UE 5.2 at 8:02 when I try to select "Use Material Attributes" the node "Material Attributes" does not appear. Nothing appears so that I cannot connect the node
This is perfect, I'm just up to the painting part of the scene so this video has helped so much :) Thank you for covering every step from the start to end, and not assuming someone knows something that might seem obvious to someone who has done it before.
great tutorial, it works but I don't get into the tiling option because I don't have or find the _instance file in my folders, Looks like I don't have this file and in the video it is not shown where it is created or comes from, What am I doing wrong or can I fix it ?
HEROOO!!! LEARNED SO MUCH!! Only one question, the tiling looks boxed, it is a seamless texture Quixel, but the texure repeats always exactly the same, there is no rotation. Do you have a video or solution on how ican fix this? ---- This was a great tutorial that fitted with my project, I am new to Unreal but learning very fast simple basic stuf, including the comments on 6:42 and on how to use instances, in a real paying project. AWESOME, subscribed hope you will get more recorgnizion bro
